AJAX :: Refer To One Script Control From Inside Another?

I have two Script Controls on a page (actually they are User Controls which implement IScriptControl, but I don't think that's relevant). I have the usual Script Descriptor code so that the server side properties are passed to the client side controls. That works fine.So, I have two text boxes (lets call them A and B) each with some attached Javascript. The Javascript attached to text box A exposes a property "get_SomeValue". In the VB code-behind for text box B (in and around PreRender), I am doing a FindControl to get hold of the ClientId of text box A. Then I am adding an Element Property to the Javascript so that, in theory, the text box B Javascript has a handle to textbox A's Javascript, and so should be able to call its get_SomeValue function. That call is failing - telling me that the method I am calling is not supported.

I am using the Ajax AutoCompleteExtender control, and employing a public shared function to act as a web service without actually creating a web service. This approach works perfectly, however I would like to take this one step further and filter my query from a drop down list, however I am unable to accomplish this. Whenever I attempt to reference the drop down list from within the public funtion, I get:
"cannot refer to an instance member of a class from within a shared method or shared member initializer without an explicit instance of the class."
I have found very limited documentation on resolving this error. Pretty much every solution includes removing the shared reference instead of handling it.
When I remove the Shared reference and just make it private, the AutoCompleteExtender ceases to function completely (i.e. functions a a regular textbox). Here is my code:
If you notice that I am not referencing the @YRQ parameter in my query, that is intentional. I will replace the subquery with that parameter when I am able to get this working.

I have a link that is located inside a content control. This link calls a javascript function that opens a popup window containing a calendar and passes it the transformed id from the server of a textbox control using clientid. I need to be able to click on a date and have the popup close and insert the date into the textbox of the id I passed into the function which again, is located inside the content control.

How can I get all the textboxes inside a create user wizard control using getElementsByTagName().
Below is my JQuery code:

The above code isn't displaying hint text when the textbox retreives focus.
I think there is something wrong with this getElementsByTagName("asp:TextBox"); , I have also tried getElementsByTagName("TextBox"); , getElementsByTagName(":textbox"); and getElementsByTagName("input"); .
But no one of them gets the textboxes array.
Can anyone tell what will be the correct syntax for getting all the textboxes inside a create user wizard control using getElementsByTagName()?

I have a custom control created to autofill the box as typed in. Its working great. But if I put the control inside an Update Panel, it works for the full postback but if partial postback happens (because of the update panel), it does not work.

I started a new project using VS2010. I have a menu control connected with an XML datasource inside UpdatePanel, Menu control works fine, problem is the styling. using a StaticHoverStyle Css works only after the page reloads, when I click a menu entry, the entry is selected but StaticHoverStyle does not reflects the menu items anymore (of course when I hover the items) Same behave with both Net versions 3.5 and 4. When I remove the UpdatePanel the StaticHoverStyle comes back to life ( post back occurs ).

I should probably say I love these forums, I've been viewing for some time and have found loads of valuable information. I'm having a problem with my project, I have an updatepanel containing several items (Two Daypilot Schedulers and a Literal Control). I have set it to conditional and have it update whenever bookings are added/modified in the schedulers. This all works perfectly! I then have a literal control which contains div items with onmouseover= parameters. The control basically contains a list of pending booking requests. On Page_Load I call a method which populates the list...which works fine.
However, whenever I call the UpdatePanel.Update() method (say, when a booking is added), the schedulers update but the literal control does not. I have gone through the debugger and found that the LiteralControl.Text property is correctly set to the new updated list just before calling the Update() method. So basically it all works perfectly apart from the literal control not updating along with the schedulers in the UpdatePanel.

For some strange reason, the user control is "outside" of the panels, thus visible no matter what panel is selected... if I programatically insert another control (ie: a texbox) inside another panel, it works fine...

I'm trying out few things with Ajax Controls.I have 10 Images in a folder inside the app. I'm using an update panel control to display the image in fadein and fadeout . I want to create an animation like, moving image inside the update panel from right side to left side with a link under it. If the user clicks that link, it has to show the image in full size.

I'm working on a web where i have a Tabcontainer in which I only use two tabs, and what i do there is that I added a control to show virtual keyboard (VK) for use with tablet PC or mouse, it will appear when a textbox is onFocus.
The problem is that when I add the control VK inside a Tabpanel, run the page, and when I focus the textbox inside the Tabpanel, it doesn't appear the VK, but i try using outside the tabpanel and it work. I also added an updatepanel inside the Tabpanel, and moved the textbox and VK control there, but is the same, it doesn't appear the VK.
i will show my web code and a link to the VK control web, cause I think it have to be a way to call the keyboard in client-side mode, but i tryed all i know and nope, isn't showing the VK.

I hv used datadridview to display certain info. to the user from db. A column has too long text creating sizing problem for the datagridview so i hv used ajax hovermenu extender to display (keeping the width fix) the extra text which is working too!!! but my problem is that the popup should display when i hover over that column while what i m getting now is that it displays as i hover over the gridview....
i tried the all popup positions property but not displaying as i wanted...

I have a CheckBox that is located inside a SelectItem Template. The CheckBox has Autopostback= true. Located outside the list view is a label. When the CheckBox is checked, I would like to trigger an the Updatepannel that includes the label. Having a bit of trouble here. I know that if you want to use a fileupload control inside an AJAX update panel then you need to create a trigger for the control that performs the uploading postback to the updatepanel, but the problem is, I have an update panel that contains web usercontrols. I therefore can't add a trigger to the control(FileUpload) directly because it exists in the web control.

I am facing a problem concerning gridview inside AccordionPane:using Visual Studio .Net 2010 designing Asp .Net Web Application (.net 4) using ajax Control toolit (.net 4 and have tried with .net 3.5 version)
When I insert a gridview inside the an accordionpane content everything seems OK. However, changing the SQLDatasource configuration, or even the Griview's colums, no code is written in the aspx web page. That concludes to the fact that: in design mode i can see everything, at runtime nothing appears. In designer's view the gridview renders fine, but when at source view, nothing is written. If I change gridview's and SQLDatasource position outside the Accordion, everything is working perfectly, including the sourceview update in the aspx page.

Create a new website based on master pages (ASP.NET Web Site template in VS2010 [File] - [New] - [Website]). Add an ajax control toolkit accordion control on a page using master pages (Default.aspx's "Main Content" asp:content block, for instance). Add styles for the accordion control in the site.css file. The accordion control completely ignores the styles, regardless of whether they are assigned as an id or a class, inline, etc. The header and content styles are used, but the accordion control itself ignores all styles. The accordion control also ignores the ajax animationextender when placed inside an asp:content block. I haven't investigated whether there are other controls that ignore styles when used with master pages, but this is a major blow to a project that has been designed with the use of master pages. If I find more controls that ignore css styles inside of master pages it will completely sabotage the entire project and use of Microsoft's technology.
