I am getting an error when I have a page that has the webdialogwindow on it: I've pinned it down the to fact that a web dialog control is on the page even though the actions taken to cause the error do not reference the control.I've attached a sample application to illustrate the bug.After building the application (VS2008)
View 1 RepliesI set the line in code for debug and while running it does not stop there. So I use System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break(). Sometimes it stops and sometimes the debugger shows a blank screen. All use the same inputs.

View 8 RepliesI'm new in using C# in ASP.net My code is causing Internet Explorer to run slow and return error message asking to stop running this script.
When I use the "Select *...", it return about 700 rows of records and it cause the error.
When I use another SQL "Select NOC0854....", filtering some records, it return about 300 rows of records and no error message appear.
How I can improve my code so that I can retrieve all records from my table? I think 700 rows of records doesn't seem a lot, maybe my code is not correct?

I have a simple example of a ModalPopup with a panel that appears in the center of the ModalPopup and a couple of buttons in that panel. One of the buttons is a cancel and the other is an OK button. No matter how many other buttons that I add each one closes the ModalPopup. I need to keep the ModalPopup open so that I can run a few calculations then click a close button.

We have a custom Ajax checkbox control. In that control we set value (from inside the control) via a web service call (say WSCall1) to the business engine. There is also an event exposed on the OnClick of checkbox for the end user to have their custom code where the end user have their own web service call (say WSCall2). This event that end users will write is handled inside the ajax checkbox control on the "OnSuccess" of the internal web service call (i.e WSCall1) with an expectation that if WSCall1 succeeds, WSCall2 will get executed. This works fine with Firefox and Chrome but not in IE. In IE sometimes WSCall2 gets executed first and then WSCall1 -- actually there is no gurantee which web service gets called first. For WSCall1 we have used " Sys.Net.WebServiceProxy.invoke"
Is there a way we can make sure that WSCall2 gets only executed on the "OnSuccess" of WSCall1? Isn't the OnSuceess supposed to be executed when the WSCall1 thread returns?

I have used a ajax control toolkit slide shox extender to display a slide show of images.
Currently, when a user hovers mouse over the slide show, the slide keeps on changing. I want that the slide should not change, if a user hovers the mouse.
I am using animation extender to make the words "Data Saved" appear then fade but when it appears it resized my nicely sized table, contracting it then the table expands to its regular size when the words fade out.
How can I stop the animation from contracting my table?

I have 3 update panels on a page, each of them have UpdateMode="Conditional".
UpdatePanel1 contains listbox1 (AutoPostBack set to true) which is populated on pageinit from the DB.
UpdatePanel2 contains listbox2 (AutoPostBack set to true), this panel has AsyncPostBackTrigger set to the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 in UpdatePanel1.
UpdatePanel3 contains textboxes that will hold the details once an item has been selected from listbox1 and listbox2, this panel has an AsyncPostBackTrigger set to the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox2 in UpdatePanel2.
In the codebehind, the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 populates listbox2 and the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox2 populates the textboxes in UpdatePanel3.
The problem
When the page loads listbox1 is correctly populated, I select a value from listbox1 and listbox2 is populated, great, no problem so far. When I then select a value from listbox2 the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 is firing, I assume that as this populates listbox2 again it is clearing the selected value for listbox2 as the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox2 is not firing.
How do I stop the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 in UpdatePanel1 from firing when I select a value from listbox2 in UpdatePanel2 ?

View 6 RepliesI have a textbox with an autocomplete extender.The user types in a few chars and usually gets a few to a few hundred suggestions back.And its pretty quick.This is on a formview control at the bottom by the paging. It is for a "Go to" feature.But it is returning the suggestions from the same list of search results from the previous page.(It's really the same page but I just toggle the visibility between the GridView Results and the FormView details).And if they select "All Tickets" its possible to get 5000 results from the search.
Now the autocomplete is really doing the same search as the search results did which is like 46 seconds. And then weeding it down further with the prefix (chars they type in the autocomplete textbox).I have a Return to list button. And I want the Button to interrupt, stop, cancel, abort, or somehow just not wait for the WebMethod to finish, and do a PostBack right away.Since btnReturnToList is a normal postback I can't really use PageRequestManager to check if in async or last postbackelementId or anything.

Editor-Control stops working when placed inside an ItemTemplate. See the example below. Editor1 is outside the ItemTemplate, Editor2 inside. When I remove the comments of Editor2, both Editors will not render correctly in the browser. Placing Width= and other properties did not result in a working editor-control.

How do I stop the extender from providing shadows to a parent controls children?
I have a Panel (which the dropshadowextender is associated with), the panel contains a couple of labels. Currently the labels are shadowed.
I am using Ajax Validator call out extender to validate a web form. The error messages are displayed as expected. But I am able to save the form with data that should not have been entered. For ex: for a number field, I type in "sdsd" and the ajax control displays a pop up displaying the error message "Numbers only allowed"..
but at the same time, I can click on the submit button with the text in the number field... at which time, the web page displays error as I am trying to insert a text in a data type int field. I either have to clear the field on pop up error display or not let the user click submit when ajax validator is active. whats the best way?
I am executing a long-running Oracle stored procedure from .NET. The procedure takes about three hours to run. Ideally, the user should be able to kick off the procedure, close the browser, and come back later to check the results.
The problem is that the connection to the Oracle procedure is lost after exactly an hour. As you would expect, the Oracle procedre runs to completion if it is executed from SQL Plus. Strangely enough, it will also run to completion if I run in debug mode on my local machine (I start two threads, one of which executes the procedure. I set a breakpoint on the second thread).
Here is my connection string:

When the timer event is firast fired then the label updates with the time, however when the timer event is fired a second time ( 10 secounds later ) I get a 404 error. I was running a gridview in this but have stripped back to a label to try and find out why this is occurring.
I'm trying to learn AJAX but I am having trouble getting things working. I downloaded an example app from the web that was written in C# and have got it working perfectly, the next stap was to convert it into VB but for some reason this does not work. I keep getting a "Error: 'myServices' is undefined " error message on the web page. Try as I might I cannot cure this and I know it is something so simple i'm just looking past it.
I'm trying to get some autotext functionality working but I've cut the code right down just to try and get it working, everything seems to work fine apart from the webservice call which returns the 'undefined' error. If I click the button on the web page the code behind is invoked and the webservice code is also run without problems. I just can figure out why I can't run the webservice directly from the web page.
