Am doing one project using asp.net,c#.. This is the project for recovery data from harddisk. My question is how we get cluster address for perticular data saved in the hard disk using asp.net?
Is there any solutions that "increases power of a single machine" instead of traffic distribution between different hosts. I mean the following schema: "Central server" receives all requests and for its execution it provide "a copy of shared memory" to different hosts.
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.
Time to tiime a get that kind of error and i dont really have clue.
Are there any patterns or practices for monitoring log4net exception logs across a cluster of web servers. I have considered several options including the following:
A central database A log file retrieval system A service based loggin architecture
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Form or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. How to solve this problem in web.config ....
Error i am facing is :Msg 8668, Level 16, State 0, Line 2Cannot create the clustered index 'RateViewIndex' on view 'NoteToPass.dbo.RateView' because the select list of the view contains an expression on result of aggregate function or grouping column. I built an ASP.NET 4.0 Web Site. It works perfectly on my development computer. However, when I deploy the web site to theProduction Server, which is a Win2003 Small Business with Sql Server 2000, the site can't connect to the database.
These are the different tests I've made:
I tried using Integrated Windows authentication and this connection string: Data Source=myServerAddress;Initial Catalog=myDataBase;Integratedsecurity=true; and the error I got was that NT Authority/Network Service couldn't open the database. So I added that account to my database users list and gave it the appropiate permissions. Nothing.I tried using Sql Server authentication, so I created a new database user with a password and changed my connection string toData Source=myServerAddress;Initial Catalog=myDataBase;User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;. Nothing. I still got the same NT Authority user message.I deleted the used I created in step 2 and used the same connection string, to see if this time I got an error saying something about my user, and indeed it happened. I got an exception saying that user myUsername couldn't log on. I then created the user again, ang got the NT Authority user message one more time.I created a console application that used the same connection string from steps 2 and 3, and it connected to the database witouth any problem, which made me think that my problem's got something to do with my Web.config.I tried enabling impersonation on my Web.config, and thos time I got the same error message, only referring to the user I logged in to Windows, instead of NT Authority/Network service. What else could I check? My Web.config is this in case it helps (I havn't really put anything into it other than what VS puts):
I have problem accessing an SQL server DB on a remote server.Actually, I had no problem with creating a connection string to it using the Visual Web Deveoper 2005 Express Edition GUI, however, I have problem connecting to it through the code.This is the connection string created by the GUI, and connection test on the connection wizzard GUI just works fine.
In our (quite large and old) ASP.NET application we use a lot of pages loaded into frames, iframes, and modal dialogs (using window.showModalDialog). We are starting to see the error above quite a bit, and I can't seem to find a single rational explanation for it anywhere.Popup Blockers. Nope. We're not running them. Not even the built-in blocker.Trusted Zone. Nope. The application runs on LocalHost right now, and it's in the trusted sites list.Stray Cosmic Rays. Possible, but not probable. It's way too consistent.
I did eventually find the error message buried on Microsoft's site in some dusty tome about retrieving automation error message information. In it, they were talking about Excel, and they said: "In this example, Microsoft Excel is the server application. Referencing a workbook object once it is destroyed (or closed) generates the error."That is probably as close as I've ever come to an explanation for the cause of the error, without a real, concrete explanation. Someone tried to use something after their reference to it was disposed of. Oddly, you can still see the windows on the screen. Curiously, however, this smacks suspiciously to me of the accepted answer to this.So here's what happens.
Page A is the main page.PageA displays PageB in a frame. PageB is a toolbar.PageA displays PageC in another frame. That's the content.PageC displays PageD in a nonmodal dialog. PageD, for reasons unknown to me, wants to modify the controls in PageB. It's trying to use window.opener to do that, and failing horribly.If someone could enlighten me as to why this is the case (the code works in FF), I'd appreciate it.

In my C# asp.net 3.5 web application I am having controls like div tag inside that one textbox and one check box and the page is having a submit button. So in this submit button click I want to make the controls inside the div tag visible.. I am calling a JQuery function to do this. All the statements are getting executed but the control is not visible.. Following is the code in my JQuery function
As I noticed these controls are make visible=false in another page so they are not coming in the page source.. So Let me know how to work these controls now
I have 2 webforms with 1 ListBox Control on each of them.
How do I access the Listbox that's located on webformA from webformB?
For example I wish to declare something like this string name = ListBoxWebformA.SelectedValue.ToString(); on WebFormB, so that I can work with that value in the code of WebFormB.
The ListBox on WebFormA lists several names. When I select a name from the listbox and press the OK button I call Response.Redirect("~/WebFormB.aspx");
So from WebFormB I wish to access this "name" by putting the selected value into a string.
Is it possible to access a code behind property for a server tag? I have a property on my code behind page that i want to pass into a javascript function i.e.
I have file locations stored in my DB. The locations are mapped drives on a different server. How can I access them? Do I need to set something up in IIS?
I have several .aspx pages that all have identical code behind pages.For ease of maintenance,I would like all the aspx pages to share a common code behind page. To do this I have created a MyCommonClass class,which contains the common code.In the code behind of the .aspx pages, I have:
Partial class MyPage Inherits MyCommonClass End Class
But now the controls declared in the .aspx pages are not accessible in MyCommonClass.fix this?
I have a website where I am using the JSON webservice. I have uploaded my website on the server.
Problem:
When I try to access the webservice it gives me the error as shown in below screenshot. In the below screenshot MyServices is my webservice. MyServices.asmx is the name of the file that I am trying to access.
Troubleshooting that already has been done:
I tried cleaning the bin folder and rebuilding again. But it didnt work.
To give some background details, I have created a website for a friend that has a few pages that require a database in the background. I've used Visual Studio templates for most of it, so there's the standard ASPNETDB.MDF file that's created for users and groups, a login page and a page to view and manage those users etc etc. The login page uses the standard controls for logging in, retrieving lost passwords and so on. Being standard controls, by default they get the connection string from the web.config file. Upon attempting to upload the site to my host (1and1.co.uk in case anyone else has any dealings with them) I discovered that storing the connectionstring doesn't work. 1and1 support say that the sql databases can only be accessed using scripts like this (this is an example of theirs):
<html> <title>Queries from the MS-SQL database with ASP</title> <body bgcolor="FFFFFF"> <h2>Query from table <b>products</b> with ASP</h2> <% Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.open "PROVIDER=SQLOLEDB;DATA SOURCE=mssqxxx.1and1.com;UID=dboxxxxxxxxx;PWD=xxxxxxxx;DATABASE=dbxxxxxxxxx" 'This code block will create a recordset Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") SQL = "select * from products" rs.open SQL, conn 'will iterate to display the records got from the database While Not rs.EOF response.write(rs("id") & " " & rs("price")) rs.MoveNext Wend 'closes the connection rs.close conn.close Set rs = Nothing Set conn = Nothing %> </body> </html>
So my question, is it possible to get the standard asp.net controls to access a database through a script like this?
Following code is an example, I just want to know if this can be done. I have an test.aspx file with this server side include tag;
<!--#include file="listOfCountries.htm" --> Within listOfCountries.htm, I have: <html> <div> <select id="countryList" runat="server"> <option></option> ... </select> </div> </html>
Now, Is there a way to access "countryList" in test.aspx.cs file? On another note, say I didn't have the #include "Countries.htm" in test.aspx, is it possible to access the controls within Countries.htm from test.aspx.cs ? (i.e. accessing an external html file controls in cs)
I'm having a hard time really grasping this concept. I've done a lot of development with Microsoft Access, so I'm very familiar with the structure of tables, queries, and all that sort of thing. And maybe that's really hindering me with understanding what to do with ASP.NET/VB.NET development.
I have an ASP.NET web application, and I want to pull a UserName and the date that this user was created and last logged on. UserName is in the ASPNETDB's aspnet_Users table, and date created and last logged on is in the membership table. So in database explorer in Visual Web Developer, I opted to create a "New Query". It brought up the UI and I selected these two tables. Linked them with the primary key of UserID. Then I selected the three necessary fields (UserName, date created, and last logon date). Looks good, viewed the data. But there is no way to save this query to programatically reference it. I want to see what user is logged on, and then look through this query to get the other two pieces of data. But there is no way to save/reference this query.
