I have a set of links that exist in the master page. I have a css class i would like to assign to a particular one of them depending on if that is the page you are at during page load. ex: Home will have the current_page_item class if you are at the index page
This is what I have:
Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load DirectCast(Me.Master.FindControl("ctl00_homeLi"), HtmlGenericControl).Attributes.Add("class", "'current_page_item'") End Sub
I have a hyper link control and I set the NavigateURL and the ImageURL property at runtime. I also need to set the class of the image tag that it generates but I cannot figure out how I can do that. The solution mentioned here [URL] does not work because the image url is hard coded.
I want to add a class to a div inside my repeater control based on whether the query string value is true or false, so that I can style it differently.
I have an asp.net usercontrol which represents a "popup" dialog. Basically, it's a wrapper for the jQuery UI dialog which can be subclassed to easily make dialogs.
As part of this control, I need to inject a div into the page the control is used on, either at the very top or very bottom of the form so that when the popup is instantiated, it's parent is changed to this div. This allows "nested" popups without the child popup being trapped inside the parent popup. The trouble is, I can't find a safe way to inject this div into the page. A usercontrol doesn't have a preinit event, so I can't do it there, and calling Page.Form.Controls.Add(...) in Init, Load or PreRender causes the standard exception "The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases."
... which seemed to work well normally, but recently a coworker tried putting an UpdatePanel inside the dialog and now she's getting the error "The script tag registered for type 'ASP.controls_order_viewzips_ascx' and key 'ctl00$ContentBody$OViewZips_Dialog_Div' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . Only properly formatted script tags can be registered."
How are you supposed to add controls to the pages control collection from inside a user control?
I have an existing page. I drag a text box control from the tool box onto the page. When I execute the application I get error (this happens to other additional controls as well):
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox2" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> At this point I do not have any errors.
Now when I reference the control in the code behind, it gives me error when I execute the application.
If TextBox2.Text = "" Then mySqlCommand.Parameters.Add(New Data.SqlClient.SqlParameter("@GroupName", Data.SqlDbType.VarChar, 50)).Value = DBNull.Value Else mySqlCommand.Parameters.Add(New Data.SqlClient.SqlParameter("@GroupName", Data.SqlDbType.VarChar, 50)).Value = TextBox2.Text End If Error2Name 'TextBox2' is not declared. Error3Name 'TextBox2' is not declared.
I am looking for some advice on how to accomplish something. What I have is a gridview on a page that I want on another page. I would like to show this gridview in a modalpopup. The problem is that the gridview is on a page that is not open and is not likely to be the previous page. I have simply put an iframe inside the modalpopup and loaded the page containing the gridview, however this page is a child page and I get a lot of content from the master page that I do not want. All I want from the page is the gridview. The two options I am considering are putting the gridview in the master page or copying the gridview, and all its events code, to the page that calls the modalpopup. Is there a better way to do this? Or should I just put the gridview in the master page. Can I load a control from a page that isn't open?
I have a page that originally didn't contain a login view. I have now added one of those so that I can vary the display according to role membership.
However I have some VB code that references ojects that were originally on the main page but now sit within the Loginview. These code segments were triggered on a Page_Load event. Since moving the objects on the page all of the references to objects there now fail as if they didn't exist. (Presumably because they are now within a LoginView)
I assume I need to change the location of my code but am stuck to find out where it should now go.
I assuem now I need two versions of my code too - one to match each of the two role possibilities for the LoginView?
I seem to be having problems with something that I thought would be simple
I have
[Code].... [Code]....
and I get the error "object not set to an instance of an object" - I have moved it from prerender to load and tryed all sorts of things, but I get the same error.I am just trying to add a literal control to the masterpage from the masterpage code behind
I am getting this wired error when I try to add another control on my user control. Is there a limitaion on how many controls we can have on a single user control?
In a User Control, I need to add a Div to the end of its parent's page. I've done this in a number of ASPX pages, where I put the code to generate the Div and its contents in the page's PreRender event handler, and it works fine. But when I try to do the same thing in the PreRender event handler for the User Control, I get the following error:
The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases. How do I accomplish this in a User Control?
i have a hidden textbox in my aspx page. The aspx page also has a masterpage in the <% @Page> directive.
<input type="hidden" runat="server" name="txtType" id="txtType" /> actually in aspx.cs i am getting txtType.ClientID="ctl00_MainHeaderContent_txtType"
I have a webpart in a webpart zone in this aspx page. In the webpart CreateChildcontrols() I need to access this hiddenTextbox value. I am able to access it as
But instead of hardcoding I want to access as a control in the page or form. How can I do that I want to do as looping through the controls in the page but Page.Controls.Count gives 1 and that is MasterPage. How can I get the entire controls in the page and loop through and find the hidden textbox. I also tried as string TxtValue = this.Page.Request.Form["<%=txtType.ClientID%>"] in CreateChildControls() of the webp[art. But could not access hidden textbox like this.
i have to write this piece of code in almost 10 to 15 content pages. i am just wondering if i can class file as base class for my content pages and write this piece of code in that class.
[Code]....
can somebody guide me how to write the base class for this scenario?
my MasterPage I have a label that reflects the name of the module that the user is currently in. I change the label text accordingly using the following ..
Instead of placing this method in the code-behind of every page, I want to put it in a single class and call it accordingly. I thought of using a static class but do not know how to reference the MasterPage. Can I use a static class? or do I place the method in the code-behind of one page and call Object.Method from the other pages?
I am trying to add a user control into a div at runtime. I can add the control no probelem but it overwrites the previous control added.Basically, I am trying to add passengers to a travel system - the passenger details are in the user control and I don't know in advance how many there will be. I have an add new passenger button which should append the new user control into the div without overwriting the previous passenger. The code is c#/.net 4. I have tried to save the control data into viewstate and re add it with the new one but that also doesn't work. Here is a snippet of the code I'm using
foreach (Control uc in p_passengers.Controls) { Passenger p = uc as Passenger; if (p != null) { p.SaveValues(); } }
however, p.SaveAs() (just writes the control values into ViewState) is never hit.
I am attempting to access a textbox control on a master page from a code behind base class but having problems. I have 3 levels of master pages. m1.master is the master page for m2.master which is the master page for m3.master.m3.master has a textbox as shown below
