App Working Fine In Localhost But Giving Runtime Error In Remote Machines
Apr 4, 2012
The title says it all. After a lot of problems with a simple app we use at my workplace, I decided to redo the app again for .NET4 and add some refactoring.
Upon uploading said app, the website runs well on the local host in iis 7.5 Windows server 2008 r2. But when I try to access it on remote machines the server lists a runtime error.
I am working on ASP.NET Ajax site. Application is working fine when I run in my local machine, but same code if I place in Server then it is giving "SpanID is undefined" Javascript error. I found error is due to UI.dll file.
Well I am having a problem when I have put my .NET 2.0 web site on IIS 6. I have used UrlMapping to redirect some old urls. It is working fine when I am using it on the VS local server port but when I deploy it to IIS 6, its giving a 404 Page not found error.
I've found that in a few forums they are talking about using Wildcard Mapping, but none of them provide me with a good explanation of how to achieve this. Added to this, what are the security risks of doing such a modification on IIS Level (if there are any?)
Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

I am new to jquery in asp.net mvc2 and was trying to implment a simple jquery function like a show() function on my system but it keeps giving me this error:
I have 2 textbox,textbox1 and textbox2.On entering value in textbox 1(ex. on entering 35 in textbox1) automatically the value in textbox2 should be 100-textbox1(ex. textbox2 should contain 65 i.e 100-35) and it cant be edited by the user.Textbox2 is readonly. And the textboxes can contain decimal values also .I have wrote my code but its not working and nor giving any error .
last from the few days I am getting the following error in my production server("Index was outside the bounds of the array".).The follwoing error is coming in the webpartclass before adding the usercontrol to webpart.Strangely when the page is loading first time it is working fine with out any error. After 5,6 clicks in my page the above error is coming. It is working fine in my local machine and in development server.
I had code on Download.aspx for downloading different type of file like doc, xls, pdf etc. I usually call the page to download a file. In one of my instance i am calling this from a java script code which works fine for [URL] but if I put ipaddress instead of localhost then its not working.
It worked correctly in Localhost but when I upload my site on host when I open page that I used captcha for it, it didn't show captcha image so I can't enter captcha in textbox
I use IIS6 but i try your code but again it didn't show any image
see here in code is  Path="Image.ashx" but i didn't have any file like that im my website? what is that?
when i see view source for captcha is below code
 <img alt = 'Captcha' src = '/Image.ashx?key=potezmL9FvScT6cn0%2b2Jnnj3liguFvrFBT38H9ZMCHA%3d&color=%23000000' align = 'NotSet' /><input type = 'hidden' name = 'ASPNET_Captcha1_Expression' value = 'LL/VwR57t2e4qP5UmLxEDA==' /></span>

So, I've been working on an app that extracts a picture from an ole field in an old access xp db, converts it to a jpg picture, and saves it to a folder to be presented to the user.
After tweaking some permissions on the local iis, the application works fine.
In the remote one however, the application doesn't extract the picture as expected.
I'm using two dlls on there, although I don't know why it wouldn't work.
I have a SQL server in my office. I can connect from my home development workstation website to the remote SQL server with no problems but when I upload the site to the web host and try and use the same SQL server it fails with 'A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible'
I created a one Java script calender. Its working fine in ie6 but its not working in firefox. I'm new to this java script so kindly give your suggestion as soon as possible.
After the implementation of ajax drag and drop, we have observed that which is working fine in IE and Firefox and not in chrome and safari, In Google chrome and Safari when we try to drag a module, the page getting scrolling to the top of the page.
The user is geeting following error while uploading a file to the asp.net page. But when I try to upload the same file, I don't get this error. Is there a way to troubleshoot this problem? Also is there a way to capture exact error? I tried to have custom error page.
Runtime error
Description Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web></configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web></configuration>
My application is working fine in local environment but not working after push code in live. My locale environment and hosting environment both are having same configuration. Same app working fine 2 month before but in different domain but same hosting server.
how to check the both config / any possible to run debug mode in hosting server please let me know. below code used in all page for checking user session status but when I click on any link page redirect to login.aspx I think session got timeout. I don't know why session got time frequently, but this issue not happening in local environment (desktop).
I wrote a crystal web server using asp.net security. i have multibple reports in a few different directories, and i have a report viewer form in each secured directory. when i load a particlular report on one machine's web browser, if i go to another machine and launch that report, the report instantly shows up with the parameters selected from the other machine. it's like after the report launches, the next request for that report just dishes out the previously built page.
I have not experienced this before, and makes my report site kinda useless. why these reports aren't treated as separate sessions?
*here is the markup for the frmReportViewer.aspx page:* <form id="form1" runat="server"> <CR:CrystalReportViewer ID="CrystalReportViewer1" runat="server" AutoDataBind="true" BestFitPage="False" Width="1100" Height="680" ReportSourceID="CrystalReportSource1" BorderColor="#000099" BorderStyle="Inset" PrintMode="ActiveX" /> <CR:CrystalReportSource ID="CrystalReportSource1" runat="server"> <Report FileName="" </Report> </CR:CrystalReportSource> </form>
*here is the vb code for the frmReportViewer.aspx page:*
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Me.CrystalReportViewer1.HasCrystalLogo = False If Not IsPostBack Then ReportName = Request.QueryString("reportname") & ".rpt" Me.CrystalReportSource1.Report.FileName = ReportName DBConnectionForReports(CrystalReportSource1.ReportDocument) End If end sub Public Function DBConnectionForReports(ByRef rpt As ReportDocument) As Boolean Dim logonInfo As New TableLogOnInfo 'Dim table As System.Web.UI.WebControls.Table Dim srptServer As String Dim srptUN As String Dim srptPass As String Dim crConnInfo As New ConnectionInfo Dim subRepDoc As New ReportDocument Dim table As Table For Each table In rpt.Database.Tables srptServer = "calp" srptUN = "cdiappsro" srptPass = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Item("OraclePassword").ToString logonInfo = table.LogOnInfo logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = srptServer logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.UserID = srptUN logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.Password = srptPass logonInfo.TableName = table.Name table.ApplyLogOnInfo(logonInfo) Next table End Function
I have a login control that is working beautifully on my localhost, but not working on the server. It validates my username & password - and gives me an error if I enter an invalid username/password. However, if I enter the correct username/password, the page refreshes, but does not redirect me to the "ReturnUrl" that I see in the URL. I've seen posts on this, but nothing that I tried worked. I've tried setting the 'MembershipProvider'attribute of the login control. I don't want to set the DestinationUrl...I want it to take what is in the ReturnUrl in the querystring. I don't think it's a web.config issue cuz it works on localhost??
I have developed a web application, it is working fine without any issues in IE5 and IE6. However it is not getting executed in IE7 properly. The look of the web application was changed and doesn't look as it need to be in IE7. And one more issue is I will be using PopUp windows in the page. When I try to open the PopUp window they were not getting opened. I have checked if the PopUp blocker was blocked, the pop up blocker settings was Okay.. I have cross checked the code it was fine.
