Mar 8, 2011I have an ASPxGridView shown to the user with an edit command button. When the user clicks the edit command button the selected row will change into the edit form.In the edit form I have a control which when clicked will do a custom callback through javascript, the custom callback handler will then change a value on the selected row and call UpdateEdit() to save the changed value and return to the regular grid view layout.
However the new value is never saved to the underlying datasource, in fact if I debug the DataSourceControl's ExecuteUpdate method I see the updated value in the oldValues collection and the values collection has the original value.The javascript that is called from the control in the editform:

Mar 23, 2010My website session was expired within seconds. I tried every possible solution but problem was same. Now i changed my session mode to stateserver, but when i logout from website its giving error. Unable to serialize the session state. In 'StateServer' and 'SQLServer' mode, ASP.NET will serialize the session state objects, and as a result non-serializable objects or MarshalByRef objects are not permitted. The same restriction applies if similar serialization is done by the custom session state store in 'Custom' mode. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Unable to serialize the session state. Oct 4, 2010I am trying to wire some fancy Javascript (PopBox) to an ImageButton control and I am getting a very strange run-time (Compilation) error.

I've looked at replacing the ImageButton web control with a simpler HTML img tag (which is what the PopBox documentation suggests). Yet, I don't know how to populate an <img> tag from the CodeBehind file. Here is a typical statement which sets the .SRC property from an ASP.Net dataset row:

I've tried this as an alternative:

Visual Studio 2008 does not complain about this declaration above but in the codebehind file, how would I address this so I could populate the .Src attribute.

Apr 16, 2013I was wondering if there is a way to capture the yes/no values on the server side once the y/n buttons are clicked on a javascript pop up?
I am displaying the y/n pop up while using a dropdown menu but pretty much all the solutions i have seen so far use button's onClick event.

I am able to see the pop up box with the yes/no options but after i click a 'yes' or 'no', i don't see 'You clicked Yes' or 'You clicked No'.
This is the code i have so far which has been taken from Muddassar's article that uses a button, not a drop down.
I can see for button the "Confirm()" is being called by OnClientClick event, but i haven't been able to make it to work in a dropdown.
On the aspx page:

Jquery - Passing Back The Client Side Style / Class Change To The Server During Postbacks?
Feb 9, 2010I'm dynamically binding tables and sub tables using nested listviews. On the client side I have a piece of jQuery that is toggling the visiblity of TRs witin the tables in order to provide a group expand / contract view option.
On postback I'm obviously loosing my class changes that I have applied via jQuery. I'm wondering what the best approach to maintaining these client side class changes is? I've considered creating a hidden input control per table to store the indexes of the visible TRs at the time of expanding them. The intention being to then look for the indexes during postback / rebinding and add the visible classes to each corresponding element.
Is there a better approach or some native method of passing back the client side style / class change to the server during postbacks?

May 6, 2010I have a series of textboxes on a FormView. There is a textbox for entering a percent for a deposit amount and next to that a corresponding textbox for entering a dollar value for a deposit amount. There are 3 sets of these.
If a user changes a percent textbox, I update the dollar value textbox based on the percent times the project's total cost. If a user changes the dollar value textbox, the percent textbox gets updated as a percent of that dollar amount divided by the project's total cost.
I have the percent textboxes formatted as "{0:0%}" and the dollar value textboxes as "{0:C}".
When a user types into the textbox, the formatting goes away and we get raw numbers but I don't want those raw numbers to remain as such after they tab or click out of the field. I added a TextChanged event to reset the formatting. This works fine on reformatting the percent textbox but the currency one remains as just a raw numeric value.

Oct 16, 2010I wanted my local iis running application to connect my database in sql authentication mode rather than windows mode,
but it is showing errors of " Cannot open database "aspnetdb" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'DBUser'. ". i also ublocked port from firewall,and allowed remote connection of mssql from sql manager, enabled TCP/IP and named piped protocols from SQL surface config, and with sql manager i also changed server authentication mode to sql from windows.

When testing it, if I type in the same name including the same case structure, it returns an error. If I change one letter to a different case, it doesn't return an error but rather my SQL server returns a duplicate error. How do I change the server-side validator so that it picks up duplicate names regardless of case?

At the master page (I use vb as code), I have a menu with menuitems (for example "New Contact"), what I want is when I click on the New Contact menu item, I get redirected to the page with the formview on it and the mode of the formview is set to insert.
