I'm trying to install a site search software called FindInSite. After following the instructions, and having a network guy do some of the set up, I get an error in the main config.asp file when trying to load one of four test pages. I can load the one html test page, but all three aspx test pages will generate the same error. The error itself is below:

Since this is an error in loading the roll provider for this particular page, I'm guessing that there is something wrong with the virtual directory or physical directory that was created for this software. None of the other pages on the site generate this error.
I sometimes get this error in ASP.Net. What's the cause and solution ...

We have created a new cname for our subdomain website. The new website is working properly with cname. We do have .net application inside the webiste which is not working with cname. For eg,1. http://servername/_folder1/app/mypage.aspx (Accessing .net application (App) website without cname)2. http://NewDomian.xxxx/app/mypage.aspx (Accessing .net application (App) website with cname)The first case is working perfectly, but when I access the second url, I got the following error.Description:

I can't figure out why it won't publish the database to my hosting account. I have an SQL server set up with a username and password, etc. but I don't understand why it won't connect.
It keeps giving me an "Invalid URI" error. I don't know what to do or what to look for.
I'm just learning ASP.NET and I don't understand what it wants besides what I've given it already.
i have a proplem in asp 3.5 with an error of potintol dangoures elments so i added two lines in web.config file under

I have a folder "uploads" at my FTP and I have to upload all the files in that folder using ASP Fileupload control, but I have to use FTP Credentials to upload the files. Earlier I use to do the same action by giving Write Permission to Internet Guest Account (IUSR) on that folder, but now scenario is different. Also what is the different between both methods? Is there any security concern in File Upload using FTP Credentials?
View 3 RepliesHaving following error when i upload the image
System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
My application in published in web server A. From my application I am uploading file to a folder that is in server B. I have windows authentication in web.config file and all the servers are in same network.
I am getting Access Denied error message when I try to upload a file from my application.
using vb.net/asp.net 2005
I have a program where the user can do the following
1. Browse to an image
2. Click on the Preview button to view the image
3. Click on the upload button
When the user clicks on the PReview button I am storing the path to the image in a Session variable since the path is lost and then when the user clicks on the upload button then I am grabbing that value from the Session value however I realize that this is not the best way. the user could change his mind and start over again but the session value would have the old image.
I would like to use viewstate but I am using this in a child page of a master page and no form exists?
so the question I have is are you able to use viewstate in a content page like this?
For the upload control I need to fill in the path to the image when it's cleared out after step 2. When the user cliks on the Preview button this value is erased on the page.

I am using the async file upload control to upload to a image file. I want the user to upload only jpg files. And for that I am checking the uploadedfile content type in server side, after the upload complets. I wanna check this, before upload starts. There is one javascript method

I just upload my website to godaddy server and i am having an error.

does not have write access to 'C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files'.
I gave the access to that particular user using web config :
<identity   impersonate="true" userName="username" password="password"/>
but then that resulted in the above error. My intension is to upload the file for a perticulr folder.
I know the path.
I am not able to grant the persmission for the folder from control panel. Is there any work around.
I am using DotNetNuke and I have posted this in their forum. But it is more appropriate here. I am trying to upload a 13 MB video file to my site ( a .flv file) using the file manager function under the host login. I understand that .NET limits the upload size to 4 MB for security reasons. In accordance with other posts here I added this code to my web.config file to allow bigger upload.
<httpRuntime maxRequestLength="51200" enable = "True"
I added it in the system.web section. Now, I still get this error:
"An error has occurred.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Maximum request length exceeded. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Maximum request length exceeded. at System.Web.HttpRequest.GetEntireRawContent() at System.Web.HttpRequest.GetMultipartContent() at System.Web.HttpRequest.FillInFormCollection() at System.Web.HttpRequest.get_Form() at System.Web.HttpRequest.get_HasForm() at System.Web.UI.Page.GetCollectionBasedOnMethod(Boolean dontReturnNull) at System.Web.UI.Page.DeterminePostBackMode() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint,

I have a website on visual studio 2008 on my local machine. When I run through the debugger I get the following error, however when I browse the same website through the IIS manager (running IIS7.5), I can browse it. What do I need to fix to run it through debugger? The website is set as an application.
