Configuration :: Psscor2 Managed-Code Debugging Extension For WinDbg
Jul 22, 2010
I have downloaded teh following psscor2.dll from microsoft download center, this is an extension for managed code debugging. But i see no instructions how to install this. All it has is just teh dll, where to place this how to register etc. no info
I've been using a standard web site in Visual Studio for my site, using the Plesk file manager interface to upload files either singly or in total as a .zip file.Recently I've changed the project to a VS web application. All the documentation that I see refers to using IIS to deploy a web app; if I wanted to just FTP all the source code, I may well have stayed with web site.I've not been able to find any Plesk specific deployment info.
I am trying to export crystal report to pdf in asp.net, though the code is working well on localhost but on server I get error
HTTP Error 500.23 - Internal Server ErrorAn ASP.Net setting detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.
The crystal report is showing abnormal behaviors.I am using a CrystalReportViewer on which i have set the CrystalReportSource1 using the viewer Tasks.
The code on page load is :-
cn.Open(); DataSet ds = new DataSet(); string sql = "select * from Test"; OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter(sql, cn); da.Fill(ds);
[Code].....
During the troubleshooting i encountered another unusual issue, where i tried a new crystal report with just simple report. That simple crystal report is not showing data & the toolbar images are not rendered. I googled on this but didn't found conclusive thing.
How can I add a extension mappings in IIS6 which is actually a folder?I add an extension mappings of htm, jpg and gif for a 404 response, to be redirected to my custom page. however i have problem regarding in folder for example http://myweb/thumbnails/
If I have a dll in bin (in a dev environment) that I need to debug and the dll doesn't currently have its associated PDB file in bin, what's the best way to get the PDB file into bin (if I have the source code of the dll)? Will it work to just copy the PDB to bin, or if I re-add the reference to the source dll through visual studio will that also bring in the pdb?
I want my site visitors to be able to navigate to a page without having to type the .aspx extension. For example, if I have a page file named info.aspx I want site visitors to be able to go to that page with a URL like this: www.mysite.com/info without the aspx extension. Is there a way to do this in the web.config file?
I am trying to find out if their is a way to Application Extension in Application Configrautions screen using Dos prompt. I am trying to develop a installer where i need to register the DLL file to application extension using Dos prmpt ?
I have a web site project using the .NET 2.0 Framework that I am working on in Visual Studio 2008. I am using a third-party DLL in my project. I have added a reference to the DLL in my project and I can use everything as expected, including a number of extension methods for certain objects. Intellisense sees these extension methods, and I am able to make use of them and I can build my project on my local machine without any errors.
However, when running my website on a production server, I get a Compilation Error saying that the extension method I am trying to use could not be found. I can use everything else in the DLL besides the extension methods on the production server.
This is my first exposure to extension methods and understand what they are, but I can't seem to figure out why I can't make use of these methods outside of my local machine.
I need to set file extension precedence. I want the browser to show default.html before default.aspx. Is there a way to set this up in a web.config file?
I'm still trying to resolve a problem with relative links on a page that uses URL routing. The relative links work find when running from Visual Studio, but fail when deployed to a shared hosting account.I'm told that the difference is that Development Server handles all requests through ASP.NET handler but IIS7 doesn't. The result is that URLs with no extension are considered folders on my test machine, and filenames on the shared hosting account. That breaks the relative links.
It was suggested that I do wildcard mapping to IIS7. But I can't make random changes to the shared server machine. I also have concerns about routing everything through IIS, graphics files, style sheets, javascript files, etc. In addition, I also tried adding a <base> tag, which fixed this issue but broke other links on the page.
So I'm left with two questions.
1. If IIS isn't processing files without an extension, then how does my routed page display as an ASP.NET page?
2. What I'd really like to do is specify in my web.config that all files with no extension be handled the way they're handled when running from Visual Studio. I don't suppose that's possible.
I am working on url rewriting all is working fine on my local machine when i upload this site on production server the link of url rewrite which is extension less not work. i search the multiple solution in the google one solution is that insert the aspnet_isapi.dll in the properties->virtual directory tab->configuration->insert aspnet_isapi.dll site in working, but problem is that hosting provider refuse to add this dll. tell me alternate solution to add this dll from web.config file.
some reason that I can't figure out, the iisreset command prohibits the webserver extension ASP.NET 2.0.50727 and this prevents the site being accessible.I would have to manually allow the webserver extension so that the site becomes accessible. This happens only on one of the load balanced servers. The rest work fine without any issues.
We have a couple transformations available for our web.config. How can I enable one of our staging or release configurations in my development environment? I'm trying to duplicate an issue from our staging environment in my development environment. Is this possible?
I have a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition (Service Pack2) and our IIS server is hosting about 20 different asp.net websites. I've never noticed this in the past, but when I debug an application and it stops at a breakpoint, the other websites hang as well. If I try to go to any of the other websites, then I just get a while page that's loading until i pass the breakpoint or I stop debugging.Does this have anything to do with application pools and if so, how do i fix it? Or if it does not, any ideas on how to fix this issue? I find myself debugging my apps often and I can't bring down all other applications when I do it.
I've got two sites hosted on a win2008R2 box that I just moved to .net 4 from 3.5. One worked well, but the other is showing a 500-internal server error on the server. It builds fine in VS, and runs fine in Cassini.I've changed the app pool to .net 4 and copied the new web config into the site, but I still get an error. I did this about a month ago with another site and everything worked fine.I can't use my own error logging code because my app doesn't even get started, and IIS doesn't seem to leave anything in the application event log. Apologies in advance for a dumb question, but where can I get some more detail on this error?500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.
I have trawled the internet - to no avail. Woe is me.I have a .Net website running under a .Net framework 4.0 App Pool. The website references various assemblies that have been compiled for .Net 3.5.I have ensured that identical versions of the dll's and pdb's are in the bin folder of the the 3.5 code that I am trying to debug, and the reference path of the 4.0 web site. I.e. the code that I am trying to debug matched the assemblies that are loaded into the app pool's process.
When I attach the debugger using VS2008 with the solution for the .Net 3.5 code open, the breakpoints that I have set are marked as invalid (i.e. marked with an exclamation mark). When I hit refresh on a browser page that invokes the code that I am trying to debug, VS2008 raises an unmanaged code exception.I have researched In-Process Side-by-Side code execution, which is what is occurring in this instance, and is working very well; but for the life of me I cannot find any information on debugging in this scenario. It is not an option to convert the .Net 3.5 projects to use .Net 4.0, nor is it possible to convert them to use VS2010 and leave them targeting .Net framework 3.5
I am converting an old asp project to a new .NET project. Now, all vb code are inside aspx files, and we are on the process of moving all vb script from aspx files to .vb files. My problem is, I can't debug the vb script inside most of the aspx files. All my friends don't have this problem. I think the problem is with vb text editor.
I am using Visual Studio 2008.
Is there anyway, I can make visual studio understand that aspx files have vb script inside them.
I have an extension method which I can use from the .cs codebehind of an aspx page, but if I try to do it in a code block in the aspx, it can't find the extension method. Is there something I need to add to the page?
Is there any way possible when my site is hosted to some how attach the process so I can debug the errors. Obviously as they are different environments what works in dev doesn't always work in.
So in my website, I use jquery to fetch data through ajax. AS part of the ajax response, some of the javascript code comes as well which is executed. The problem is how to debug this javascript in firebug or other tools. This is my experience so far: putting debugger; doesn't work For some javascript, can't set the breakpoint as that script is not yet loaded. even if this new javascript calls some other function thats already loaded (i.e. i can see it in firebug and set a breakpoint), that breakpoint on that function is still not triggered However, the javascript does executes normally and even things like console.log works but cant seem to debug it.
I know you can copy a Website intact to the server and have it run normally (security and compilation time aside). What about the projects that are in the solution? [whose dll's are copied to the bin when built]. Is there a way to copy the projects' code files to the server as well?
My goal is to be able to debug [by modifying code in the project if needed] directly on the server without having to install an IDE [or keep building on dev machine and copying over dlls]. I can debug/modify the website files, but not the projects.
