I have problem regarding my IIS (Window server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64). I make my web application using Win. 7 with 32bit and using Vs 2010. After finish and publish i go to server and start setting IIS. But i get this error --> The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler. So many method i read from internet but still cannot solved my problem. For your information, my Application Pool is ASP.NET 4.0 (Classic). and under Application Pool i started more than 1 Application Pool.

i created a web setup project for my asp.net application. am trying to create an upgrade MSI that will only replace some few files in my initial installation (very minor upgrade). right now, am not getting it right because the whole initial set of files is been replaced. i guess i only need to change the package code, but i cant do this in VS.NET 2008.

I have OS windows 7(64 bits), Visual studio 2008 and Oracle 11g I have run "InstallAllOracleASPNETProviders.sql" who comes with the Oracle installation. When I run in debug I can run this application, but not otherwise. And in IIS manager, I can't se the Oracle provider? I have created a setup application and i want to create my application as an installer application.
I did for testing and while running the setup file this give me the final response is "The installer was interrupted before setup1 could be completed. You need to restart the installer to try again".

I am trying to deploy a simple page that just has 3 textboxes and a button that calculates 2 numbers.I copied the site to my server and when I try to go to the site throught IE I get the error below. How do I reslove this runtime error?

I'm trying to publish an ASP.NET website over an IIS 6.0 (Windows 2003 Server), and I have some troubles trying to connect to the database. Curiously, I have installed another ASP.NET website into the same IIS 6.0 with the same properties and security parameters and can connect without problems with the same database. The application that works fine is almost the same that the one that can't connect with SQL Server (actually is the same but with several modifications).I'll enumarate some information related to the problem:
S.O: Windows 2003 Server
SQL Server Engine: SQL Server 2008 SQL Server accept remote connections? Yes.
ASP.NET version: 2.0.50727
The connections via TCP/IP are enabled to the SQL Server instance? Yes.
The corresponding user that I have in the connection string, actually exists into the database with the "owner" role? Yes.
ORM Tool used: nHibernate
I get the following error when I try to run the aplication into the browser:
Error while establishing a connection
to the server. When connecting to SQL
Server 2005, this failure may occur
because the default settings SQL
Server does not allow remote
connections. (provider: Shared Memory
Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a
connection to SQL Server)
I made some test. For example, using the web app that works fine I can connect without any problema with the database that uses the web app that can't. With this evidence I concluded that the problem is within the web app and not into the SQL Server instance.

i got the below error while running an application on IIS server. Error 167 It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. I have created a web app using Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition and have come to the point where I need to publish the site onto my server (which is running window server 2008). I found that the publish function is not limited in the express edition, so published the app to a local file and FTP'd the contents across to my server. I then setup a website through the servers IIS manage and pointed it to the folder containing the FTP'd files.
My question is, how do I run the app? Do I need to point to a specific file?
I have tried to view a number of the files in browser directly from the IIS but keep getting the same standard connection error i.e. "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
I have never used IIS Manager before and I can't find a resource which gives me a step by step guide to setting up a new site which has been created by Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition, are there any config changes needed.

I created and populated a database inside Visual Studio 2008 instead of using Management Studio.I need to run the script to create the schema for users and roles.The database does not show up in ASP.NET SQL Server Setup Wizard or in Management StudioThe only databases that do show up are master, model, msdb, and tempdb
Is there anything I can do to fix this or would it be easier for me to just create a new database starting in Management Studio and then connect to it from within Visual Studio?

I'm creating a website and I'm testing resgistering and Log-in.
I followed a simple tutorial to create a Log-in in Visual Studio C# template which generated a SQL Server database.Locally the Log-in and registration page works perfectly. The problem is that when I upload my site to the hosting site the navigation works but the Log-in and Registration forms send an error when clicked "Register" or "Log-in". I contacted the site and they upload my database the way it should be because I was doing it wrong. I can see all my files including the data base.
They commented me that I had to do a connection string to the data base so the login and registration forms can work. I don't understand how to do that, I know the connection string has to be declared in the Web Config File, the thing is that I don't know how to write that code and link it to my data base in the hosting site, in fact I have sample code but I don't know just what do I need to put in it.

I have created a ASP.NET MVC 2 application in VS2010. It runs in integrated development server fine. But when i deploy that in IIS it gives me "The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory." error. Anybody know what went wrong?? There is no default.aspx page when creating a MVC2 project in VS2010. is that the problem? I can assure the routes are configured correctly in global.aspx.

There seems to be an issue with the "Trust" level when executing within a "Cloud" environment. In order for the following app to work it needs a trust level of at least "Medium." This web app is developed using VB.NET 3.5, and Visual Studio 2008. The app works perfectly on my local sever but when deployed/published to the "Cloud" it returns the error: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I have added all 4 required values, ConsumerKey, ConsumerSecret, OAuthToken, and OAuthTokenSecret to the web.config file in the "appSettings" section of the "configuration"

If found that by going to [URL] and signing into the account that is using the application, then go to the "Settings" page, go to the bottom of the page and click on the "API" menu option. Once the API page appears you will clik on the button "2", Register An App. On the right side on the new page, you will see a button "View Your Applications." If you have previously registered your app, click this button, If not fill out the appliction for a new app. Now at the View your Applications page, select the app you want to get the authorization keys for where is says "Edit Details". Now click on the button to the right that says, "Application Detail." Here you will find your Consumer Key and your Consumer Secret Key. On the right side of this page you will see the menu option "My Access Token", click it and you will find your oauth_token and your oauth_token_secret keys! Not that you have all the keys, put them in the "appSettings" section of the web.config file. Add "Dim twConn As New TwitterVB2.TwitterAPI" at the top of the page.

This code works great in an enviornment that allows at least a "Medium" trust level. However it appears that many of the "new" hosting envrionments such as "Cloud Hosting" and others do not allow this trust level automatically!However if the trust level is less than "Medium" on your host you will likely receive the error message: "Twitter Returned: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed." I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.
