I have a custom built CRM that is 99% written in Classic ASP/VBScript. Currently we use a FDF to PDF script that generates a bunch of PDF files (depending on which PDF you are choosing to merge.)
Almost exactly the same time every day, at around 9:30 AM my users can no longer use the function as the error "Server Application Unavailable" appears when they try to use the function. The error then may happen randomly or nearly every 2 hours thereafter - but it depends on usage. In order for me to fix this, I have to either restart IIS, or Recycle the App Pool.
The App Pool that the site resides is independent of all other applications on the server.
The script was written in .NET by a 3rd party company and I can post the code here if required.
I am not able to setup webapplications from my localhost.I have setup the virtual directory ,but when I try to browse the web pages with my localhost,I am geting the following error: Server application unavailable.The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Currently we are running an application build in VB6,ASP,Commerce Server2000 and Sql Server 2000. This application is running in Windows 2000 server.Now we are planning to migrate Windows server 2000 to Windows 2008.Will this application run in Windows 2008 or do we need to upgrade this application to dotnet and Sql 2008?

View 1 RepliesI have an ASP.Net application that I am developing on my localhost. I have v.2.0.50727 installed and running. I have registered and re-registered this version ASP.Net several times. So far I am having no luck and continually get a "Server Application Unavailable" message. The funny thing is, this only happens on .aspx pages. Additionally I have ensured that the application is set to run ASP.Net 3.5 in VS 2008.
I have no further information to provide as none is being provided to me by the application. To add a wrinkle... on a seperate local machine, everything is working properly. I am fresh out of ideas as to why this isn't working. I have tried pretty much everything else I have researched with no luck. The only error I am seeing in the log is:aspnet_wp.exe (PID: XXXX) stopped unexpectedly.
I visited the admin area of my web application this morning and a message appeared saying "Server Application Unavailable" and that I needed to check the event log for more information.

In our (quite large and old) ASP.NET application we use a lot of pages loaded into frames, iframes, and modal dialogs (using window.showModalDialog). We are starting to see the error above quite a bit, and I can't seem to find a single rational explanation for it anywhere.Popup Blockers. Nope. We're not running them. Not even the built-in blocker.Trusted Zone. Nope. The application runs on LocalHost right now, and it's in the trusted sites list.Stray Cosmic Rays. Possible, but not probable. I did eventually find the error message buried on Microsoft's site in some dusty tome about retrieving automation error message information. In it, they were talking about Excel, and they said: "In this example, Microsoft Excel is the server application. Referencing a workbook object once it is destroyed (or closed) generates the error."That is probably as close as I've ever come to an explanation for the cause of the error, without a real, concrete explanation. Someone tried to use something after their reference to it was disposed of. Oddly, you can still see the windows on the screen. Page A is the main page.PageA displays PageB in a frame. PageB is a toolbar.PageA displays PageC in another frame. That's the content.PageC displays PageD in a nonmodal dialog. PageD, for reasons unknown to me, wants to modify the controls in PageB. It's trying to use window.opener to do that, and failing horribly.If someone could enlighten me as to why this is the case (the code works in FF), I'd appreciate it.
I have 5 GB data, when I move from SQL server 2000 to 2008 with Import and Export wizard, my LDF size is increased to 30 GB, Can I reduce my LDF file or move. In my one of the table contain around 20 Lakh data which i have normalized in 2008 and create 4 tables, so my data is entering in normalized form in 2008. But due to size by hard disk is full. I have used shrnik command but it reduce to only 1 GB.

After finish and publish i go to server and start setting IIS. But i get this error --> The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.
