Configuration :: Image Displays OK Locally But Not On WWW?
Jan 15, 2011
An image on one of my pages renders as...
[Code]....
The first one displays fine locally but not on the Web server, whereas the second one displays fine both locally and on the Web. How do I get the first to resolve like the second? In the database, I have the reference prefixed with "~/i/" so it's puzzling to me that it would resolve to some other form.
I have a menu that uses a sitemap. The menu works locally, but not on the server. Below is my code for the menu, data source, and the sitemap. why I can run it locally and use the menu, but I cannot use the menu on the server?
When I deploy my web service, I get the following error:
There is no build provider registered for the extension '.svc'. You can register one in the <compilation><buildProviders> section in machine.config or web.config. Make sure is has a BuildProviderAppliesToAttribute attribute which includes the value 'Web' or 'All'.
I found one thread ([URL] that a solution but, I can not get it to work. If I make the changes to my web config file as in the thread, I then get a configuration error. One odd thing is that, if I check the machine.config file on my machine, located at C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727CONFIGmachine.config, I don't see any of the config settings described in the thread. As a matter of fact, there is no mention of "compilation" or "buildProviders" at all.
I had a code that creates a snapshoot of website and store the snapshoot in a specified folder. When I deployed the app into production server, it creates the image but it does not appear or stored in the specified folder, how I can fix this proble, I wan the snapshoot to be stored in the specified folder when hte app is on the production server .
The application pool randomly shuts down. I am assuming this is due to Rapid Fail Protection and errors are occuring that are triggering it. However... there are no errors being reported in the event logs. So my next inclination is to think of the possibilities of a memory leak. How do you test for memory leaks on a website running locally?
I have a page which uploads a file from server A to server B. The user first uploads the file to server A, where it's saved into a diretory, then once the file is safely stored there, I'm transferring it to a second server, server B, using the following code:
[code]....
So, in summary, the only difference I can see between the working case and the non-working case is the server that'ssending the file.
I have a site (URL...) which loads and runs fine locally on the server itself, but when I try to access this externally from outside of the server (and firewall) will not load. In Safari for example, I get the message "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".I have other sites on this server that do load and operate fine so I don't belive this is a Firewall issue. One thing I did notice however is that when the error message appears, it seems like the site is trying to change the protocol from http to https.
I'm trying to debug this to find out what could be happening. I've tried looking into the IIS logs as well as the Event Viewer but I see nothing. I have even tried to turn on Failed Request Tracking but no errors are logged.
I have a problem displaying images on my web pages. It doesn't matter if I insert the images using the toolbox, or if I try to display them manually by code. The problem is that VS displays them fine in design mode, but not in debugging (red cross).
The source code of the webpage gives me the following adress to the image:
On my site, I display an image after the user clicks on a thumbnail (opens in a lightbox). I want to store the number of times users open the images.
I was thinking of something like pointing to an ASHX page that generates the image and updates the DB with the view count, but this can't be done since this is a remote file from a CDN. I can't just count the thumbnail clicks, since the image opens in lightbox.
The error is mentioned below, the cssfriendly.dll is in bin, and browser file is in there app_browsers folder. And it is working in same PC (developping PC), on remote server that belong to my company (i just installed .net 3.5 on that server)
I tried uploading the same site on 2 dufferents hosting, and finally i got the same error. What could gone wrong ? I tried contacting the hosting support but they work in ticketing system and this is extremely slow.
Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'CSSFriendly.MenuAdapter'.
when i execute it using local port auto-asign port, the aspx page shows ok on the internet explorer.
when i run the same project from the IIS (Browsing the aspx page from the iis), only the controls text is displays without the controls (colors and menus .. ) - although the source view shows that the tags exists.
I have a problem with my chart image not refreshing and I narrowed it down to the fact that there's an unrelated image that according to MS VS2005 IDE, that the image file is not found... BUT..when I run/debug it... it displays properly. The image is right in the root of the aspx directory so it is not in any folder.<img src="right-thumb.png"> // this works but ide shows error and causes chart to have update problemi get an error in the IDE file is not found. however, if I display a FULL PATH, the problem goes away. WHY? i don't want to display the whole path because i don't want public users to see the server file location.
<img src="c:webapplication ight-thumb.png"> // this works for everything
I am able retrieve the image for imagebutton from db on to gridview and perform some events but I am unable to view the complete image i.e, i am able to see only part of the image
i have to modify the thumbnail width and height as well as main center image and height. then the thumbnail list displays images with a small portion of mail image.i want to display thw hole image with reduced size inside the thumbnails.
For a web application I am using ASP.NET C# (OS- Windows7, .NET 4) and the task has done. But I don't know how to run it locally in Windows7 as well as in Server 2008(.NET 4 and IIS installed in server 2008). And I have to run it in both the platfrom.
i has an page, there i have to export the file under the same virtual directory and have to save that saved location to the Database table, below is my code
my doubt is by the above code the Table-Path seems D:WinnerVirdir1Imageimg1.jpeg then next i assign the same path to the image control but the image is not displaying, incase if i hosted to any other server then also it should work.
This may be obvious to many of you (hopefully!) I have a site under asp.net created using Visual Web Developer 2008 and MSSQL 2007 (all express editions)All ok so far.My PSP requires the addition of a couple of traditional ASP 'screens' to redirect payments to them. I cannot run this under VWD2008 development server as .asp are not allowed, so am looking to move to running it locally under IIS7 which is turned on.How do I alter the site to run on the IIS7 instance?
So while working on my project on local system, i need to generate a barcode and save it to a folder then retrieve it to attach it in an email to send to user, i got the barcode generator code somewhere on these forums (thanks for sharing) and used it and it worked perfectly, generated the code as image, saved the file to a folder on the local system, retrieved and attached it to email and sent it with no probs.
Next, i uploaded the files to online server to go live, i test, no barcode is getting saved :S, i'm guessing it shouldn't be that easy, guess i have to do some stuff before i can save it to a folder on the server,
Here is the barcode generator code:
[code]....
At the same time, can you also include how to retrieve it for later use ?
currently i use this to retrieve it from the folder on local system:
