Creating DataTable Structure With MySQL DateTime

I am setting up a routine whereby I have to copy the results of a MySQL stored procedure into a DataTable so that I can add fields to the end of the result.
Normally I would convert the Msql DateTime to something that I could more easily manipulate; however, the existing code that I have specifically addresses the MySql DateTime type in too many ways to easily change.
So I thought I could do something like this:

myDataColumn = new DataColumn("ETD_DT");
myDataColumn.DataType = System.Type.GetType("System.DateTime");
returnDataTable.Columns.Add(myDataColumn);
And substitute "MySqlData.Types.MySqlDateTime" for "SystemDateTime", but it fails with "Column Requires a Valid DataType".

I have a datatable which i get from the databasemanager class, and i would need to transform that data into a hierarchical structure
either binding it directly to a .net treeview control or in memory first .
i have an ID column, and a ParentID column.what i do not know necessarily is the parent ID to start with. so first thing to do would be to find out which node is the parent ID.
what would be best practice to loop over this table and make it hierarchical

this would be an example datatable of course it will have hundreds of items, and it does not always start at the root node, its possible that with a request a certain subset of categories is requested, however i've talked with the database team and they will give me NULL on root nodes in the above example that would be element 0 in the table ....

i am new to WebServices, i have a ClassDataLibrary.dll which include classes like Users,Products,Articles...
i want to create a structure like this in my webService. as i saw the examples of creating web services the web methods written on the same page. but i got over 50 methods in dll and i want to share these methods with flash so flash user get data using my webService but it will be difficult to find the method he wants so i want to give my webService in a structure like:
Service1.Users // he will finds the methods about users
Service1.Products // he will finds the product methods
how could i do it ? is there any example or something to share with me?

I am trying to create a TreeView nested structure with the use of self referencing table fields. Here is a simple example:
Category 1
Product 1
Toy 1
Toy 2
Product 2
Toy 3
Toy 4
more categories.. The database table has a single table called "Category". The ParentCategoryId points to the Category which is the parent. So, for the Category 1 the ParentCategoryId is null since it is parent. For Product 1 the ParentCategoryId is that of the Category 1 id and for Toy 1 the ParentCategoryId is that for the Product 1 id.
I am using the following code but it does not generate the TreeView (ASP.NET) successfully.

I am starting to build a website project for personal use to learn ASP.NET more in depth. I am wanting to use MySQL as a database since I have a friend thats a MySQL admin guy at his job. But I only have Web Developer Express 2010 and cant get the MySQL plugin to use the Entity Framework with MySQL. So I was wanting to create my own classes for each table in my database with properties related to each column so that I can use something like the following:

I have been studying C# for a month or so now and have been progressing okay however I have just started with ASP.net and dont really understand much about it. Im trying to create a register page where users can enter their details (username, password, address etc) and dont really have a clue how to do this. I can use only acccess and mysql to do this, can anyone link me to some useful guides or give me some tips as to how to do somthing like this. Baring in mind i have never used MySql before and am very new to this.

I'm loading data from my database into a DataTable, and one of the columns is a date field.

I'd like to format that column so that instead of containing a full date, it will be formatted like "MM/DD/YYYY".
I've tried looping through each row in the table and changing the cell for that column, but I get an error saying that the string isn't a valid DateTime object.
I tried changing the column DateType to a string, but I get an error saying I can't change the DateType after the table is filled.
How can I do this? This seems like such a simple thing, but I'm having so much trouble with it.

I'm looping through an ArrayList and creating a column in a DataTable from each field. One of my fields is a DateTime field, and I've noticed that when I create the columns, it's being changed to a String, but I need it to still be a DateTime field for sorting. I'm trying to do this, but it's not quite working.

I have got a datatable which contains many columns in which three are main:
hotelid
dshotelid
hotelname
Some hotels contain only dshotelid, some contains only hotelid and some contain both dshotelid and hotelid.
I need sort in such way so that those hotels who got both dshotelid and hotelid should be on top and then those hotels who have got only dshotelid and at last those hotels who have got only hotelid...
I created this :
dtmaintable.DefaultView.Sort = "dshotelid, hotelid"
but it Is not giving me desired output.

If I have a DataTable (in-memory) read by my C# program from a flat file, and I want to create it as a new table in a SQL Server database... what is the simplest way to do that?
It seems like something like SqlBulkCopy with an option to create a new destination SQL server table would be on my line of thinking, but I dont see a way.

Why does a very simple script which inserts 26,000 records into a mysql database (myisam, no transactions) take 13 seconds in the php implementation, and then 35-50 seconds using mono+mysql connector? I thought asp.net was faster than php? Could the problem be the mono mysql connector is "platform independent", so the performance just stinks? or does asp.net suffer more overhead than php when it comes to executing each query? Aren't there any native linux binaries for mysql connector for mono that may be faster?

I have used ASD.NET code using SQL Database for Transaction operation successfully. By changing the Database Code to interface with MYSQL an Error occurs. If I remove the Transaction Code from within the the application, it works OK by displaying the MYSQL data (Read Only) in the layout of the application. I am using Mysql Essential-4.1.22-win32 and MYSQL Connector ODBC-3.51.2. My objective is to EDIT the MYSQL Data.

I created a UserControl and added a public DateTime property. I want to set this property in Markup (ie. <cc1:MyControl runat="server" id="MyControl1" DateTimeProp="1/1/2010" /> ) however I live in a place with a dd/mm/yyyy date format so it complains if I set something like "20/1/2010". Is there a way to set markup in my local datetime format or do I have to conform to "mm/dd/yyyy"?
