Creating Directory On Server Programmatically?

Mar 8, 2010

I want to programatically create a directory on the server using ASP.NET.

I have done this using System.IO's Directory.CreateDirctory. however, the newly created folder is not accessible in the code.

after searching a bit, I came to know that the newly create folder is not included the project and hence not accessible.

Creating A Textbox In C# With Unique ID Programmatically?

Jan 25, 2010

what the best way to create text boxes in my loop here so that the IDs are unique instead of just "TextBox" for all of them. I need to add up the Price based on the Price per unit and the Quantity.

My items are loaded from a database so there could be any number of them, so I need to generate the fields on the fly. I was thinking maybe an array of fields could be used like in a form application, or is this not the right way to go?

Here is my code:

AJAX :: Creating Reorderlist Programmatically?

Aug 18, 2010

I hope to get some guidance on how to create reorder lists programmatically because of the situation described below.I have a page where I want to have a toDo Iist for each of several (typically 10) milestone categories. I can think of 3 options.I don't know in advance how many 'active' categories there will be but I there is a known fixed total of about 20 categories, of which from 1 to 20 may be 'active'1. Have one Master ReOrderList And Then Nest the Category ReorderLists Inside 2. Create the reorderlists programmatically.3. Brute force approach. Hardcode all 20 reorderlists and their associated sqldatasources, and then set visibilitydepending on which category is active. This approach is the simplest but has the disadvantage of too muchrepetitive code and the reorder lists would be in a fixed order, when I really want them to match the category order.

C# - Programmatically Rename A Sharepoint Directory (SPFolder Or SPListItem)?

Sep 10, 2010

I have tried this:

SPFolder folder = ...;
folder.Item["Name"] = newName;
folder.Item.Update();

And it behaves mysteriously. If I run it, it throws an exception: SPException: Cannot complete this action. HOWEVER, if I stop it in the debugger after the new Name assignment and before the Update(), and look at the properties of folder.Item, then continue, it works every time. It's not a timing thing, I tried stopping it in the debugger without looking at it in the Locals window, but it threw an exception that time. This question indicates a similar solution but using SystemUpdate(), does that matter? [URL]

Security :: IIS Creating A New Database In AppData Directory?

Apr 21, 2010

I've created a web application that's using Windows Authentication using roles authorization.

In VS2008 everything's runs fine by running the app or browsing using the VS web server.

I create a new virtual App in IIS6 and then try to browse the page. The app hangs, and has a very mysterious habit of creating a new SQL Server Express database in our appdata directory called TimeTracker.MDF.

So I was thinking somewhere along the line we installed a TimeTracker Starter Kit and it updated a configuration file somewhere.

My initial reaction was to search all of the config files under the framework directories. So i did that using Windows GREP, only to find one entry here:

C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files

Localization :: Avoid Creating Resource File Dll Under Bin Directory?

Oct 30, 2010

I'm developing two applications. One is server application and one more is client application and i'm implementing Localization in both the applications. I have used 7 language resource files in both the application. I need to add the reference of server application in my client application to access some global methods and all. After i'm adding the resource file in the application if i build the application it creates folder for each resource file with language culture code (Spanish -> es-ES, French -> fr-FR) under Bin directory.

Similarly if i add the reference of server application into client application then the resource file dll of server application will be added under corresponding langauge culture folder(es-ES,fr-FR) in the Bin directory. But i don't want to create any resource file dll for the application under Bin directory and aslo i need to put all the resource files inside the application only.
