Custom Server Controls :: How To Make A Css Style Background Image Be Linked To An Image In The Resource File
Aug 17, 2010
I want to make a textbox with a specific style, within this style a set of images as background parts, how can i attach these images to the custom control as whenever i take the .dll file and add it to the toolbar the images do not appear. So i tried to make them as resource files and their property as embedded in .resx file, so how to make the css style background image url to be linked to any of those image.
I have taken background-image of a Table and Panel, that image's corner is rectangula. How can i make its corners Rounded ?I searched some online resources, images were made rounded, how to make make background-image rounded on the fly ?
I have a simple HttpHandler that generates a dynamic image based on query string parameters and a custom web control that renders an image tag pointing to the handler as its 'src' attribute. All works fine when run in the web server, but at design timethe control displays as the "missing image" icon (red x in a box). The handler is registered in the web.config with a ".ashx" extension. The RenderContents method in the control looks like this:
I am going to create a web server control representing a treeview. So I want to use 2 images for + and - for expand/collapse. How can I build this into the control in a way that can be used as image source when rendered on the page?
Since this will be in a compiled web controls library, I don't want to rely on external images in the web application.
Edit: Based on this answer by Andre Kraemer I did the following:
Dim lPlusImage As New WebControls.Image() Dim lMinusImage As New WebControls.Image() lPlusImage.ImageUrl = Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(Me.GetType(), "MyCompany.MyWebControls.Resources.plus.gif") lMinusImage.ImageUrl = Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(Me.GetType(), "MyCompany.MyWebControls.Resources.minus.gif") lPlusImage.RenderControl(output) lMinusImage.RenderControl(output)
My Assembly name is MyWebControls.
My Root Namespace is MyCompany.MyWebControls.
The images plus.gif and minus.gif are located in a folder named Resources, and the images have Build Action set to Embedded Resource.
It still does not work. I get no errors. I have tried the generated image url directly in the browser, bot nothing happens, just a blank page.
Note: I tried to use an invalid path in the resource name, and the result was exactly the same, which made me wonder if I need to do something special to map the actual resource to the resource name. I got a 404 Not Found error only if I used different name in the code than what was specified in AssemblyInfo, it had nothing to do with path was pointing to an actual resource!
I want to display an image on a page with Image control on it.
I know this is very simple but tweak in my case is that image is available as a stream variable (which I am getting as a response from one of the server) instead of physical file.
Eventually I want to create a control for this with some other feature on it.
My question is how to assign "stream" variable to Image control?
I am creating new custom command button control derived from asp.net command button. In my custom control I want to set two images (i.e. one from left and one from right). In center command text will come. I tried background image property using css. But I won't work out for me. The image is coming left but the actual command button style is lost and the second problem is I could not able to set image on right side.
I have a page which displays details and a pictures of employees. The details are stored in a SQL database and the images are on the server. How can I set a default Image to display (e.g. an Image saying "Awaiting Image") if an employee picture is missing?
I can't use NullImageUrl as the Images are not stored in the database. I can't use the solution found on [URL] as an ImageField does not accept an ID attribute.
I've created 2 web user controls. A = User control that displays an image, and B is the user control that hosts A. I'm trying to stream an array of bytes to A, but it seems like the Response.BinaryWrite method completely overwrites any heirachial controls (I can't see any of B's other controls besides the image).
How do I get A to just display the image from the byte stream? It doesn't come from a database, it's an image I created on the fly.
I bind lable from database that show my users website address i want if user insert their website address in database and it show in lable image1.visible=true
and if in website column users don't insert any data image1.visible=false
i have a datalist which i am using to display like tabs. I am using the css to set the background images for each tab. But for some reason the images do not come in the tabs. I am not sure why. check the code below and let me know what i am doing wrong.
sometimes we need to use the asp image control so we can generate empty alt tags (visual studio 2005 does not render any attributes set to an empty string). I know how to do this and also how to remove the border style that is automatically added
We implemented this 6 months ago, however, only today have I discovered that it does not work when images are created dynamically. The first implementation was for asp images that have been set up within an aspx page:
The above works-no border style is rendered and the imageurl is populated in code.I have other pages where I'm building up sections dynamically using C# code, such as:-
I have a datalist with items for sale including an image for each item. I want to make another datalist with items that have been sold, but I want to display a part-transparent 'sold' sign across the corner of the image.
They only way I can think of is to display the item image as a background? With the sold image on top?
Any clue as to how to bring back an image from a database and display it as a background image? I haven't yet figured this out.
