I have a database table as follows:

This table receives data from my web application via a stored procedure, snippet pasted below:

In my quote.aspx page, I have a wizard control that collects numerous data points. In one of the wizard steps, I have 20 textbox controls for PartNumbers and 20 textbox controls for respective Quantity.
Question:How do I write a for..each loop that checks for values in my Part Number and Quantity fields and inserts them via my SQLDataSource?
I have a DataTable that's populated with Data. I'm looping through it and checking to see what the contents of the first cell of the first column are. If they have the same value on the current iteration as the previous, I want to insert a blank row into my DataTable. The problem is that the new row is being added to the end of the DataTable instead of between the two rows. How can I get it not to append the row to the end. This is what I'm doing:

I'm using Enterprise library, but the idea is the same. I have a SqlStringCommand and the sql is constructed using StringBuilder in the forms of "insert into table (column1, column2, column3) values (@param1-X, @param2-X, @parm3-X)" + " ";where "X" reprents a "for loop" about 700 rows like so
[Code]....
So after all is done, I have 700 insert statements in one batch and of course, I did another 700 loops and added the values to those parameters. It runs fine and fast for a few days. However, last night, suddenly I get this error

i have a dataset which contains some data.

I need to insert a Boolean value into an SQL Server datatable. I'm having a problem with what I'm trying. I don't see the option for a Boolean data type in SQL Server so I used Binary(1). Is this the right data type for storing Boolean in SQL Server?
The lines:
cmd.Parameters.Add(New SqlParameter("@Active", SqlDbType.Binary, 1))
cmd.Parameters("@Active").Value = False
generate the following error on the execute command:
InvalidCastException: Invalid cast from 'System.Boolean' to 'System.Byte[]'
Is there an example somewhere that covers how to store a boolean in an SQL Server table?
I m getting following error in my eventvwr . I couldnt find reasons of the following error.
"Transaction (Process ID 110) was deadlocked on lock | communication buffer resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction. "
The only thing my page is doing is inserting/updating data into a table in sql and the thing I can think of is because multiple users are using the same page to insert/update data? Will that cause deadlock?
I have requirement that User can Upload the Excel Sheet Data to sql server Database at once.
View 16 RepliesIf I have a DataTable (in-memory) read by my C# program from a flat file, and I want to create it as a new table in a SQL Server database... what is the simplest way to do that?
It seems like something like SqlBulkCopy with an option to create a new destination SQL server table would be on my line of thinking, but I dont see a way.
i have a datatable with several columns and rows. now i want to copy the last column fully (all rows) and create the new column with that values.
it means last column values sholud be moved to new column (now this is the last column).
I have a datatable for which i'm defining a dataadapter. I'm specifying an updatecommand with sqlparameters for the dataadapter I set the updatecommand's parameters using the following overload:

The length 16 is used because this is the length of the field according to sql (the image datafield is a pointer of size 16) I noticed .Net is actually truncating the string because of the length i'm setting. An image of size 3kb will properly upload if we set the length field to be greater than 3kb The question I have is what is the proper value (or strategy) to use in order to set for the length field so that ALL images will properly update to the database, with each using the appropriate size.
I guess i could theoretically set the length to be maxint, but this seems sloppy. Looking at sqlparameter documentation i didnt see an 'unlimited' or 'default' length i could set, which would allow each update statement called to use the appropriate size for the data length for that row.
I have one SP in sql server which takes the data from user and inserts into three tables. My problem is if multiple users call the same SP in same time it throwing error..(I guess one user at a time can access the table and table will be locked, that is why remaning users getting error)how to handle this situation. it is a web application, so at a time so many people can call the same SP.How can many users insert data in the same table in the same time?

In terms of set, you can say that record which are in 1st datatable but not in 2nd DataTable.
I'm trying to execute a simple insert statement with the GUID and timestamp populated by default from the server. I have both of their default values set as (newid()) and (getutcdate()) respectively in SQL server. However, I receive the error when I try and execute the command "Insert Error: column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition". How do I construct my sql insert so my id and timestamp columns use their default values as assigned in sql server?

This is the first time I have been working on databases and I am trying to insert data using an object datasource but no data is being inserted and no exception is thrown. I'm not sure where I am going to wrong. I am putting user data into session variables and inserting the session variables into the dataacess class layer and have a try and exception but nothing being thrown. Any help would be really appreciated because I don't know even where to start looking with this or how I can get the error to be thrown. Please see some of my code below to give an idea of what I am doing

Currently the app adds a single computer at a time. Here I am using ASP.NET using C# and my backend in active directory. I had made the following code and the problem is when I enter the range like given above only the first computer in entered in the list and does not give me any error.

Also I have added to each InsertParameter of the DetailsView a DefaultValue="".Yet still, if the user enters no value for one of the string fields, NULL is inserted into the table.

I want to insert Data Rows into Gridview from web page and I want to send the Inserted Row to Database table.

My problem is this "I have all the tools, VS 2005, 2008, 2010. I have every book, I have SQL server 2005 and 2008" I have all the tools, but I do not know what tool or technology to use when starting out learning all this. I juat do not know what book teaches what I need to do for something like below.
Here is my question:
I created an .ASPX webform that is to "Submit" to a SQL 2005 database. I gave this form to my DBA, and he has made up a Data Model. Now I have to figure out how to write the ASP.NET code so it will submit to the DB. My first issue is not knowing this:
1. "How do I loop through my CheckBox List", and then insert the values checked into a "Database Table" (Each Checkbox value MUST be a seperate row in the table, the DBA does not want a seperate column for each checkbox value)
2. The database is using stored procedures
3. My third issue is this: "I do not know "where" to put the "code". If you do resond to this,
Summary: I just need shown the code on how to "loop through" the CheckBox List on my form, and insert those values into a database table as seperate rows.
