I am trying to make a simple dropdownlist.Based off what is selected as the dropdownlist, I want it to open a new webpage.
For example:
Here is the dropdownlist - If they select team1, I want it to open up webpage /team1.aspx If it's team2, team2.aspx and so on.

I am having a problem with disabling DropDownList based on the chice of 1st DropDownList, there is no post back occuring, and it is a template based web app here is the current code:

what i m trying is i hav two dropdownlists inside the gridview... namely say ddonsiteoffsite and ddhours... now what i want is if the selectedtext of ddonsiteoffsite is "onsite" the ddhours should b disabled... i tried the code snippet but ... its not disabling the ddhours... can someone help me please..

I have a dropdownlist ,three text boxes and a submit button.The three text boxes are disabled and enabled based on the condition in dropdownlist.I have provided required field validators in three text boxes.When I click on condition "self" then three text boxees are disabled and submit button click wont enter the values since required field validators prevent that.I have set causes validation property to false.But it wont work for the second condition where i need to enable all the textboxes,If i didnt provide any values it will enter nulll values to db.

I am making an application that deals with vehicles. I need two DropDownLists:
Makes: All Vehicle Makes
Models: Models that belong to the selected value of the Make DropDownList
How is this done in MVC2? My Idea: Do I use an ajax call when my first list is selected and then pull back the Models to bind to the Model DDL? How would model binding come into play that way? UPDATE I posted what I ended up doing as an answer. It is super simple and works great. GridViewDetails uses templatefields. In edittemplate I put a button called "ButtonUpdateAdjustAmount" with OnClick="Update_AdjustAmount" in the EditItemTemplate for the "Amt to be Adj" column. There is also a textbox. My user's should be able to edit the textbox, but I also want the ability to click the button and the textbox populated with the correct calculated value. The formula varies based on the "code" column which is a dropdownlist called "DropListCode".
I am fairly new to asp.net, vb, etc...so forgive my code writing. Eventually I need to also put the same functionality on the insertrow for my gridview. But first wanted to get the edit one working. I am using templatefields for all columns and the FooterTemplate to perform the Insert New Detail Line.
I can get the functionality to work for the first data row and only if I take out the If code.SelectedValue = ... line and leave 1 static formula. However that isn't going to work. If DropListCode.SelectedValue is DNR then AdjAmt should be ((q_ordered - q_received) * cost). If DropListCode. SelectedValue is OV then AdjAmt should be (RKNumber * cost). If DropListCode.SelectedValue is NB the AdjAmt should be ((q_received - q_ordered) * cost). If DropListCode.SelectedValue is DAM then AdjAmt should be (RKNumber * cost)

I am binding months to a list 0-13 items default selection is 0 months duration, and years 0-8 items and 0 years is the default selection.As I know there are always going to be 12 months in a year, I could use selectedvalue or selectedindex without any perceived problem. Is there a reason why I should not use either/or of the two properties to select a list item?

I'm running into a minor issue with some ASP.Net code I'm working on. For simplicity sake lets say I have two dropdownlists, one that is full of various items and another that is full of other items, but based off the selected item of the first dropdownlist. I currently set variables into hidden inputs to check to see if the item in the first dropdownlist has changed and if it has to change the second dropdownlist, but I'm also having to check to make sure that if something else causes a postback to NOT repopulate the second dropdownlist as to not lose what is currently selected by the user. This check also allows me to make sure that when I navigate away from the page, the correct values are selected and not something replaced by a postback repopulation.
I'm new to ASP.Net/HTML/CSS/Javascript and the like. I know while what I have works, it isn't even close to being the correct way to do things. correct my ways and figure out the BEST way to solve this current problem. Some good ASP.Net tutorial websites would be nice too as I need to keep improving my skills with it.

Inside DropDownList1, I have "Name", "IC No", "Test_Date". So for an example, I type "S1234567D" in the textbox1, and I choose "IC No" in DropDownList1 it should redirect me to a page of the S1234567D's patient detailview. How could I do my code?
