Forms Data Controls :: Deleting And Editing Item In A Repeater?

I am learning how to use repeater. I added two links to my repeater, a delete and an edit link. However, when I click either delete or edit link, they both take me to same method. How do I add the link such that when I click on edit, it take me to an edit method and delete takes me to a delete method. Below is a sample code.
Also, how do I delete a single row in a repeated. For example, I have a simple form that display an item description and a quantity. There are six item display on the form, but I wish to delete the third item. How can I pass in an id that will delete the third item rather than delete everything (i.e where item_id = 3)

I have a repeater which binds a set of data. Within this repeater is a column with various controls for updating, deleting, etc. These are image buttons which fire an onclick event such as "DeleteRecord". All this does is fire a stored procedure, passing in the ID of the record to delete from the CommandArgument of the object.
This works wonderfully... except for one rather huge problem. Once you delete a record, if you refresh the page, the record where the first deleted record used to be gets deleted. For instance... if I have 4 records
1 Record1
2 Record2
3 Record3
4 Record4
and I delete record 2... The page reloads with (which is fine):
1 Record1
3 Record3
4 Record4
...if I then hit refresh...
1 Record1
4 Record4
I assume this is because the erroneously deleted object (record3) is now in the same hierarchical place as the old object used to be and .net therefore doesn't know the difference, the page refreshes and fires the onlick event, grabbing out the command argument of the new object and deletes based on the ID as obtained from the commandargument of the new object. This is obviously a huge problem, if a client did this it would destroy data erroneously and I'm at a loss here. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I'm not sure if there is a better way to go about doing things or not. If there isn't, I need some sort of way to tell the page not to execute the event or to cross reference the ID of the object that is intended for deletion against the object itself...

EDIT Wrapped a LinkButton around it because I have some jquery code in here as well which stops the page execution to wait for user confirmation. Pressing "ok" continues page execution.

COMPLETE NOOB, dont know anything.. I have a Virtual directory ~/ClubInfoFiles that i upload some files too using a uploader i made. I might want to change the uploader i made to be able to change to a subdirectory or something so i can upload all files into one folder but different subdirectorys. the uploader i would like to be able to have a dropdown menu of all the subdirectorys within "ClubInfoFiles" say i has subfolders : Minutes, Flight Plans, Maintence Records, etc... but i would also like a field to where i can create a new subdirectory and have it automaticly update the dropdown. i want to list those files in gridview and have a link to dowload/open and dellete the files. i have found some code that gets close but it uses Auto Generate columns. really i dont need all that jazz, just the Name, File extention, and hyperlink the file for download/view. i would like to be able to delete and possible upload using the gridview... is this to much for a noob?

I have a GridView in an update panel that is bound (in code-behind) to a business layer object. The first time this page is accessed, Editing, Deleting, Updating, etc. work fine. However, if I click my browser's refresh button, the functionality of the edit, delete, etc link buttons is gone. They do nothing.

I have searched on the web for code for this, but all i can find is code to delete the primary key from from a table. My issues is that i have a double primary key.The way that it works is, i insert a load of data, but which uses number1 as the first primary key, and number 2 is like an item of number1 as such.Sorry about the explanation, if you dont understand i'd happily try and explain it better.

I have a repeater control:

I have a custom page (Page 1) in SharePoint where I have a repeater control. From Page1 I open Page2. This is where I generate a collection of object which i use to bind repeater control in Page1. For the first time everythings work fine. If I have 5 objects to bind, repeater control shows 5 elements.
Now assume, I have 5 elements in page 1. When I open page two It carried over same 5 elements. I delete 1 element and send 4 element as collection to Page 1. In page 1 after I databind the repeater control, it doesn't display correctly. It deletes the wrong element.
I debug my code. The collection which i am binding to repeater shows the correct elements. But while displaying i is not showing correctly.

I'm trying to create a nested gridview, but I'm stuck at the editing/deleting part of the nested gridview. (Below is my code).The nested gridviews are filling out nice, I've set the DeleteParameter in the SQLDataSource, but I'm still getting this error when trying to delete a criteria: 'The Gridview 'gvCriteria' fired event RowDeleting which wasn't handled.'I've tried to create a method 'gvCriteria_RowDeleting', but that didn't seem to work out.Someone who can give me a piece of advice? I've got a repeater bound to a datasource through the code behind. Everything is working fine so far except for this, I'm trying to concactenate a bound field as the id on a query string to an image handler:

How do i dynamically change the value of dataitem in repeater control(.net 2.0,VS 2005)..i have repeater something like this :

I have a DataList control setup with a Repeater inside it. It's displaying Ranks just fine, but the problem is I don't know how to make it start over with each DataList.
Right now, if there are two rows in the PointsCat table, it creates two DataLists (new DataList for each ID) and populates the Repeater with the person's rank, name and points from the Points table. The CatID in the Points table is a number equal to an ID in the PointsCat table (to tell which DataList's Repeater to display the data in). This code currently just orders ALL the entries from my database table, so the first Repeater in the first DataList may end with a ranking of 4 (4th), the first item in the next DataList's Repeater starts with a rank of 5...instead of starting over with 1.
So my current page may show something like this (notice the rank didn't start over in the second category):
Points Category 1 Points Category 2
1 John Doe 400 4 Janet Doe 275
2 John Smith 390 5 Johnny Smith 270
3 Jane Smith 380
My SqlDataAdapter line is below. I need it to start over the ranking for each CatID. Is it possible to do that within this line?

I have what's bound to be a stupid question, so I'll apologize for what I think should be an obvious answer my brain just can't see. My problem is very simple. I have a Repeater control bound to a SqlDataSource. The ItemTemplate in this case is one complicated beast, and rendering can take a loong time if too many records are returned; so I need to maintain tight control over how many records are brought back from the data source.
Is there not some way of either stopping the creation of subsequent RepeaterItems once a certain count has been reached, or cancelling the bind if more than a certain number of records are returned? I know I can grab the record count from the AffectedRows property in the Selected event of the DataSource, but I've encountered a brain-lock on how to stop/inhibit the binding (or RepeaterItem creation beyond x records).
I'm happy with either aborting the binding altogether if the record count is too high (displaying no records), or simply stopping it after X records are returned; at this point, I'm not picky. Either way would work, and it seems I ought to be able to readily figure out either one, but my brain has simply gone into neutral.
