I am using asp .net 4.0 report viewer...how is bind rdlc dynamically using stored procedure..send me some useful links r some example using stored procedure.in asp .net4.0 .
I have gone through all of the forums and couldn't find an answer to my problem, which is:: I need to bind a result from a stored procedure to a label. What I have done so far is to try to use <%# Bind(SP_Result_FIeld_Name)#> and that does nothing. I also tried to assign the results to a string in the code behind, all that did was put the words "TTLCount" in my label. Part of the problem might be that it is pulling from a temp table and the field I'm pulling has an assigned name ( Count(*) as TTLCount)... The rest of my SP is returning to a gridview which works fine. I just need to display the total number returned and the total number of returned that have email addresses. I have been using the GridView control, to display data, but now my two datasources (Informix, and VisualM/Mumps) makes it very difficult to create a store procedure to with paging. Is there a better data grid, that will allow my users to scroll/search the current data set?
Girdview has dropdownlist TemplateField called ddlSate, how to bind state field value in sql table to selected value of ddlState dropdownlist control? For example the sql table has AL value for state field, (Note by default ddlState lists all states options with sqldatasource), how AL is selected in ddlState when binding to ddlState?

I have three tables: Book, author and Book_Author. The third table make them one to many relation.One book may have more than one authors. Book table has Title column and Author table has AuthorName Column.

if user select the radiobutton as manufacturer,only mfropendate,mfrclosedate,mfrawarddate have to bind. and if user select the distributor the remaining 3 fields will have to bind. for that i had write a storedproc as create procedure sp_GetDraftBids as begin select mfropendate as opendate,mfrclosedate as closedate,mfrawarddate as awarddate, distopendate as opendate,distclosedate closedate,distawarddate awarddate from draftbids end GO
i.e i had taken the alias names for that fields so that i will bind the only 3 columns to grid view as opendate,closedate,awarddate.

here i had taken the same alias names as i have to bind only 3 columns to gridview.when i run my application i am getting the records in data table with column names as opendate,closedate,awarddate,opendate1,closedate1,awarddate1.i.e it does not allow the same alias name.
for two radio button conditions i.e for manufacturer and distributor the gridview binded with opendate,closedate and awarddate columns as i had binded the gridview boundfields withat names.
but when user select the distributor radiobutton i have to bind the opendate1,closedate1 and awarddate1 to the gridview. for that should i can i change the storedproc are any other solution is there?
I have a grid page which has a datasource as a stored procedure. The grid page shows the fields obtained after executing the stored procedure.Now, there is a field called 'PURCHASE PRICE' on the stored procedure which can have empty values.If the grid page have that field empty, it should appear as the text box so that the users can enter some numeric values and run the page.

I have an application that uses an aps:GridView. The GridView is populated using a DataSource that calls a Stored Procedure. The DataSource passes parameters to the Stored Procedure based on some text fields. The page has been running slower than wanted, so I was doing some checking.
I ran SQL Profiler while loading the page, and saw the Stored Procedure was being called twice. I stepped through the code and found out that in the Page Load Complete event was where this was happening. In this event, I set the value of a parameter for the Stored Procedure, then did a DataBind on the GridView to pick up the data. As I was stepping through the code, I watched the SQL Profiler. When I got to the step of setting the parameter, the Stored Procedure had not yet been called. When I stepped through that and got to the DataBind command (before running that step), the SQL Profiler showed that the Stored Procedure had been called. Then I did the DataBind and the StoredProcedure was called again.
My question is, how do I get the parameters set, and get the GridView data bound, and only call the StoredProcedure once? If I comment out the DataBind step, the StoredProcedure never does get called (which seems really strange to me...).

Initially, I have tried to use stored procedure. But I changed my mind and preferred to call sql query in codebase with command text. However, it stills tries to find initially-called stored procedure (which is neither called or exists).I think that it is related caching. But I tried it with different browsers it did not work.What might be the reason?
