Forms Data Controls :: GridView:Dynamic DataBound Column Creation With Hyperlinks?

I have a stored procedure (For Eg: sp_GetAvlData) that accepts a number of parameters, 3 of which are TimeFrom, TimeTo (as varchar) and TimeInterval (as int), formulates a Dynamic query and executes itself. So for instance, if I call the proc as follows:

dtAvl is the datatable containing the results of my stored procedure.
The next step for me is to make each of the cells (except the cells in the first column) as a Hyperlink so that when clicked upon a cell, it populates 2 textboxes with the selected Timeslot and Name or ID (ID field is not displayed in Gridview). The textboxes are located on the same page but outside of the Gridview control.
The Challenge that I'm facing out here are:
1) As you can see, the field names being generated are not fixed and I have no control over them.
2) Because the field names are not fixed I'm not sure I can implement this using the Templatefields or BoundFields of Gridview.
Is there any way to achieve the Hyperlinking of these cells within the Gridview?
I have created a gridview at runtime. its working fine when i load the grid first time. after when i am selecting next value from ddl to load grid according to that option(selecting from dropdown list and coresponding values showing in grid) showing error that "A field or property with the name 'datafield name' was not found on the selected data source."
might be i am getting this error becuze the privious value is not being cleared"
I have a requirement to create multiple hyperlinks dynamically in a single GridView Column. The number of hyperlinks are not not known in advance and will depend on the results brought up by a query. How do I create the same?
I am facing certain problems with the data formatting in GridView when the data is bound dynamically to it.
I have a DateTime column and want to only show Date from it and not the time.
Another Decimal type column which accepts decimal upto 4 places, I want to show decimal upto the places defined in the particular value (don't know how to put it in the correct way, but here is an example of what I want).
i.e.
1.0000 should be displayed as 1 after the databound in the gridview.
I'm trying to build a website for real estate listing. now the data would look like a datagrid. and while clicking on it, it should open under the clicked row the dynamic data related to the specific row. (like an AJAX accordion). this website for example ( ignore the language, couldnt find any better example [URL] Now, i've been told that this works by using "Dynamic Div Creation" which i have no idea how it should work this way. Is it possible to make it work by using an Accordion inside a datagrid? or what?
Does anyone knows how to add a radiobutton column into a dynamic gridview? The problem with the asp.net radiobutton is that in a grid view is not mutually exlusive so actually it would have to be a literal type= "radio "control, but how to add it when the gridview is created dynamially?
Also, once I have the radioButton set up correctly...how can I identified whether that row has the radiobutton checked or not?

i have a gridview which is populated from a stores proc using pivot tables. The column are created dynamically apart from a total column which is created as a template field. the gridview looks like below:

i need to add a hyperlink to each gridview cell and when that cell is clicked pass the header text through the querystring to another page. I can access the cells value ok and pass that through but i cannot seem to access the cells column header text. when i response.write out a count of the gridview.columns it brings back 2 which is the template fields but not the dynamic fields i have tried this on the rowdatbound, rowcreated, page_load and page_unload. the count should be 12 its like it cannot find the dynamic columns at all. ?

I'm currently making a site that is supposed to generate search results from a separate assembly, with a gridview that has links to each robot. The links from the gridview are supposed to link to a unique robot details page, as well as display another gridview to all related robots from the set, like this:
how to display unique detail pages. So far, I only have a details page template, but I'm trying to figure out how I can display the data dynamically, depending on which robot was selected from the main search.

I have a gridview with a hyperlink control that allows the user to save pages to it (www.google.ca, asp.net, etc). Unfortunately it always adds the server name to the beginning of their link. [URL] I was wondering is there any way to change that within the control. or should I have it pass a query string to a url handler that will response.redirect them to their actual page?

I need a GridView with 6 columns, one of which ("ItemID") is a HyperLink who's URL and text is determined from the C# code as I will get that data from an SQL database
INITIALLY, what I wanted to do, which would have been easy as pie, is:

HOWEVER, this does not work because every row in the Item ID column is filled with "System.Web.UI.WebControls.HyperLink". Apparently, this is what the HyperLink's toString() method returns. Apparently, you can't just throw a HyperLink into a DataRow and call it a day. I need to know how to make this ItemID column into such a HyperLink. It doesn't necessarily HAVE to be a HyperLink control, it just has to be able to call my javascript function on the aspx page, "popUp(URL)"
To give you a visualization of what I'm trying to achieve: this is a change log for an inventory system. The ItemID column indicates what item was altered. However, simply just having a number there doesn't say much, so I'm trying to create a link with the text, for example, "42 (motherboard x)". In other words reader["ItemID"] + " (" + reader["Description"] + ")", and that link will run a javascript function I have called popUp(URL) which takes a URL and opens it in a new window of specific size and location, to view that item's details.
I've tried various other methods such as disabling AutoGenerateColumns and manually create a HyperLinkField, but to no avail, because I couldn't get it to run my javascript function that way.
we're creating a GridView to display news articles programmatically (not using a SQL database).
We can create & display the GridView, but are having a devil of the time to get the hyperlinks in SetupGrid() attached to the titles
of the articles in the GridView. Below is our .aspx code and .vb code of how we create the GridView. Any ideas on what we should do to get the hyperlinks array of strHyperlinks() in SetupGrid() to be applied to the titles in column 1 of the GridView?
I had successfully created a functionality where I can dynamically add rows and columns to a asp table by creating/re-creating controls on every page load.
I have 2 buttons - Add rows and Add columns that, basically according to a asp.,net page life cycle, occur in the following order and work perfectly fine.
Page load is fired and controls along with their viewstate are recreated. In Add row button click event - I just create a new table row and add controls to each cell dynamically.
Same thing with Add column, Delete Row and Delete Column button click events.
However, now I added a Dropdown which when its index is changed needs to retrieve values from the database and create controls based on those values and then also bind the Db values.
But it doesn't work correctly since the asp.net page cycle cannot capture the dropdown's selected value in page_load as the page_load fired first and then the selectedindexchanged event is fired later, the controls are not created.
I don't know how to handle this scenario and incorporate it into my existing code.
I have been tasked with producing a web application for a new client. What they're looking for requires a Gridview with slave Detailsview within an Update Panel.
I produced this, including the Gridview in markup, as follows:[Code].... [Code]....
However, although it works, it's been requested that I move most of this to code behind (for easier maintenance), which is causing me a few headaches.
What is the correct option here, since I see many potential methods?
Should I create an instance of the Gridview and Update Panel in markup, then define all events and columns in code behind? Create a new Gridview entirely in code behind and place it within the Update Panel? Create both in code behind?
I am trying to add an image overlay of a cell within a data bound gridview cell in ASP.Net (C#). The effect is designed to have a string within the image that is going to sit on top of the image that is pulled from the server.
IE: Database contains path to images. Data grid is pulling these images in based on the ID of the items in question. I need to pull the price from the database and lay it onto an image that is placed over the data bound image cell.
SQL Statement gets results.
Results contains path to image for items.
Items are sometimes on sale, so a special overlay is needed.
Overlay will have a varying price overlaying it.
I tried to break it down into easy portions. I am not sure if I am over thinking things or not but I can't find a feasible way to do this. The data is converted to a table due to the data grid control in ASP.Net, and there isn't any way to determine the IDs after the table is created.
