I am Working on a ASP.net project(VB.net), i have a gridview to display names of "Patients". Each patient has a unique "labID",
I have stored the patients "diagnosis" information in seperate tables( stool,urine, blood etc)
what I need is to retrieve this info when I click on a patients name in gridview.
I want to get data from the database and display it in gridview. The gridview should be editable. Meaning the user can add, edit and delete items/rows in the gridview. Everytime the user adds/updates/deletes an item, the gridview is also updated. However, these changes will only be saved to the database once the Save button is clicked.
View 3 RepliesI have a page where I will insert all the data into the database. The page where I'm having problems is when I select an item from the checkboxlist it only displays one item. The data which is displayed is only the one that was inserted with one selected item from the checkboxlist. The following code is the page I'm using to try to retrieve the data from the database. I am trying to do is when a user selects the first, second, or third, or fourth item. The corresponding data appears in the gridview. In my current code, the record which has one item selected appears. If the user has more than one selected it does not appear. It comes up as empty. Is there a way I can do it?

I am trying since more than 5 days to retrieve and display an image in a web page, no success so far.1. I have a table named image, with three fields ImageID, Img_data, Img_contenttype .2. I am able to display the ImageID as a link in my page.3. On clicking the link i am going to my viewImage.aspx?img=ImageID .This far it works ok. ImageID is passing in the query string.4. In this page imageID is being captured from query string and stored in ImageIdview int variable. viewImage.aspx has an image tag to display the image as below.
<asp:Image
id="image1"
ImageUrl='<%# "ViewImageHandler.ashx?imgid=" + Eval("ImageIdview")
[code]...
<asp:ImageField DataImageUrlField="photo" > <ItemStyle Width="50px" Height ="50px"
HorizontalAlign="Center" VerticalAlign="Middle" ></ItemStyle>
</asp:ImageField>
i need to display image from database in gridview. i have the above html and a select query executed from code behind which displays the image.

View 2 RepliesMaybe I'm looking for an easy way that just isn't there, but I'm trying to display the images I store in my SQL database in a GridView, and I just can't seem to get it right. I've readlots of different articles on the web about it (including this one from this forum), but most (if not all) of the examples I've read look like their doing a "double hit" to the database (that is, one stored procedure call to get the entire record, and a second one in the Handler to get just the image of the record).

This is probably a really simple question but I have a gridview that is linked to a table in a database. But I have an imagefile stored in one of the columns in the table. The SqlDataSource links to the table an I can see the images when I test the query. I just can't see how to show the image in the gridview. All the example on the web show how to link to an image on the server and not that is downloaded from the server.

i have created a table in sql server 2005 with two fields ImgId and ImageURL,where ImgId holds the serial number and Image URL holds the URL of the image file about where it is located in my hard disk.

I'm amazed that it took me minutes to figure out how to retrieve text from a specific SQL database record and display it on my aspx page using FormView---and yet days later I still can't figure out how to retrieve/display the corresponding database image...(I feel like I went to a fast food restaurant, received my burger and drink in minutes---but for the fries I'm told to leave the restaurant, drive to another county, and search for the granite boulder under which I am to find the next clue in the quest to get my fries.
I don't want to waste anybody's time---I do see that this issue has come up here before (but each solution seems more complicated than the previous one): clearest way (or your favorite past thread on this topic) to retrieve/display/edit binary image data using FormView?
