i have taken a data list.in that i have added a imagebutton field that is bind to a image field of database.i want that when the image is clicked from the datalist that should be shown to the other image field in web page

Im working on app that queries another website, and pulls back an xml, I then populate a result panel with ImageButton(s), and time in a click event, when the image is click I want to popup a div box using the jquery ui, that will show more information, about the picture clicked on. however whenever id this this seems to wipe out my results panel(Panel Control) and the div box never appears and as far as I can tell the imagebutton click event never fires. I've tried doing this two ways one with an update panel and again without, I would appreciate any help on this.Im wondering if I'm doing to much long on my search button click, Im wonder if I should just let the post pack handle populating the result panel and ditch the update panel.(and yes my div tag is set to runat server)I'm also up for suggestions maybe there is a better way to do this, I thought creating hidden div tags for each item, and then running javascript for when the image is clicked and showing it that way, However that seems stupid, in my opinion it seems to make more sense to make my div control once and then update the labels inside it on each image click and then show or hide it.

I'm trying to do: I have a webform with a datalist. The datalist shows projects (projectname, image and an imagebutton). When a visitor clicks the imagebutton two events should take place:
- First: data should be send to SQLdatabase (projectID, name of project, sessionID, datetime etc).
- Second: a pop up window must be opened to an existing webpage of the facilitator of the project, using an url which (is in my database).
The problem is my two seperate pieces of code-behind work fine, it's just that they won't work together. Here is my code: The imagebutton:

I have a databound repeater and in this repeater is an imageButton. How do I pass info from the database into the click event? For example, I've got the description, heading and price fields populating labels, but want the id to go into the imagebuttons click event in order to build a querystring.
View 6 RepliesI am trying to create a custom GridView with a header toolbar at the top that will contain icons to export the grid view to different formats like excel, word, etc.. The problem is, I cannot get the method to fire that is assigned to handle the click event for the corresponding Image Button. The page posts back, but the code I have in the method to handle the click event does not fire. I have followed examples in other posts and from what I can tell I have followed what others have done. Can somebody take a look at see if they can find something that I am doing wrong.

I add one or more textbox controls to a repeater itemtemplate during OnItemDataBound.
The textbox controls are instantiated and then added to a placeholder.
My problem is getting the user entered values from those dynamically added textboxes. They do not seem to exist in the repeater items collection.

All of my columns are bound in the Gridview. On OnRowDataBound event, I am adding some custom styles like underlines and colors to the text of the columns. Sorting of data is working fine but I am losing my custom styles when I sort. I am using the generic sorting code for the GridView.
How I can keep my custom styles on sorting that I added during OnRowDataBound event.

When the UpdatePanel is updated for the first time, the function 'DataList1_ItemDataBound' is called.But, when the updatepanel is refreshed for the second time, the debugger doesn't reach the same event at all. thus keeping all the data inside the datalist same.
I have a condition on which i have to set the column of the datalist at run time.IT may be 2,3 or 4 at run time. How i do it. plz replay as soon as possible.
Is this possible that on the item bound event i set the html <tr><td>.
I have a datalist control that is querying a accessdatasource for information that populates the results based on w/e is typed in a textbox. I can't figure out how to pass the information that is populated in the datalist to another page when a button is clicked (inside the datalist item template).
I was able to peform this in Detailsview with a hyperlink using the following arguments:

I have a datalist that loops thru cart items. Within the datalist template I call a user control that has a small form that gets repeated for each item. When this control is called outside of the datalist, the form submits fine, but when called within the datalist the button has no event action. I've tried adding an event handler to ItemDataBound of the datalist, but still no event action. How can I get my form to submit?
