Sep 9, 2010I have a grid view with each row as a link button. When I click on the row, some data parsing process takes place (about a 15 sec process). The grid refreshes itself at a regular interval. I want to disable the link when it is clicked once, so that the user gets to know that row has been processed already and does not click it again, until the grid refreshes itself and the row disappears. I am copying my gridview code below. how to disable the link button on that row as soon as it is clicked.

This works great and keeps the user from updating the record with invalid data.However, when I hit cancel after this operation, it saves the text in the box rather than cancelling the operation. Here's my code for the update button:

I do not handle the cancel button event, as the cancel operation has worked fine... unless someone enters incorrect information and e.Cancel is set to true.What am I doing wrong? Is it the mixture of using the LINQ Datasource and doing my own updating?

1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.

MVC :: How To Disable EnableClientValidation When A Cancel Submit Button Is Clicked
Apr 16, 2010i am working on an asp.net mvc 2 web app and i have ran into an issue. I have implemented client side validation using Html.EnableClientValidation() in my View page for providing the site users the ability to submit or cancel some form fields back to the server database. For this i have implemented an Html.BeginForm() along with 2 submit buttons. One with "Ok" and the other with "Cancel" text.
The ok/cancel funcionality is handled server-side from the controller action. The result is that the form fileds are client-validated when the user clicks the cancel button and this is not what he would expect.
how could avoid this issue? Of cource i could remove the submti cancel button from the form and implement it via an Html action link, but i would prefer finding a solution using the first approach.

Sep 3, 2010I am trying to arrange the information from a SQL record into a 3 column by 3 row table to fit the form presentation that I want. I have placed on the page 3X3 table and then tried to place a detailsview in the first cell for the first picture called P1dv.
I have place a detailsview in the last cell that would control the paging of information called Controldv. I need to fiqure out how to link P1dv paging to Controldv page action. I am using visual web dev. 2005. I am not updating or editing these are read only views.

Feb 5, 2010I have a link button which is part of my user control. Further, the control is actually added to the control dynamically. Whilst, I can see the control, and is added to the page without any visible errors, but when I click on to fire an event which on that user control nothing happens. What is even more odd, if I add a break point to event, and then click in debug mode, I can't even reach the break point!
To try and resolve this, I have tried giving the link button ids, and ensured they unique, added override using OnInit and used the createchildcontrols method, but nothing seems to work!

Nov 9, 2010i have a link button thats text value is populated from a dataset value retrieved from a database. When the user clicks on this link button I want to somehow capture the text value. The trick is the linkbutton is within a usercontrol, and I want to do the processing from the user controls parent. I am able to get the ID of the clicked linkbutton with the use of Request.Form["__EVENTTARGET"];, however i need the text value, in this case its a job number.
I may be able to do this via javascript with the OnClientClick;
OnClientClick='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"JobNo","test({0})")%>'
When I do this I get a javascript error saying "M10725"(which is my job number being clicked) is ndefined. I dont know what this means. Do I somehow have to give the linkbutton being click a value?

Feb 17, 2011I have a detailsview control, which I use to enter data and save to the database. I am using object datasource to connect to the db. The detailsview control has autogenerateinsert = "true". When the insert is successfull, I want to set some variables and and to redirect the page to a different one. I don't know how to access the insert button click event of the detailsview to do it. If there is different solution like using <insertItemTemplate> and using custom linkbuttons.
