I am experiencing a problem on my aspx page.
I have a web form on which the user fills in a basic data: date (with drop down lists), an asset class (with a radioButtonList that is bound with en Enum) and other simple controls... The, when the form is submitted, I make a query on the database to retrieve my data and bind these data into a gridView.
Here are some bit of codes
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
foreach (int assetclassVal in Enum.GetValues(typeof(AssetClass)))
{
[Code]....
The 1st time I submit the form everything is working well, the second time even if I change nothing in in the web form, the GridView1_RowCreated fires an exception when the property AssetClass is called. The error message is
Must specify valid information for parsing in the string.
This is because rblAssetClass.SelectedValue is empty, but I don't understand why.
How to remove rows dynamically in gridview with textbox and dropdownlist?
View 3 RepliesI have a Gridview which is populated with data based on the selection of dropdowns in a web form. Once the gridview is displayed on the page the user has a "Print" button that will print the gridview. I need to allow the user to remove rows from the gridview prior to printing. I do not want to remove the data from the database, only from the displayed gridview.
I've added a column to the Gridview that has a checkbox which appears next to each row. The header of this column reads "Exlude". If the user checks a box next to a row then this row should be excluded from the printed gridview.Totally new to gridview .. don't know where to go from here.
I have a gap but I'm not sure how to remove it, which is between a table and a gridview:

By the way, how do you insert a screenshot to this post?

I cannot sort after adding GridView_AA_RowCreated function. Each column of Grid view header-text worked well before I add this Row Created function. If I cut the following code: e.Row.Cells[2].Text = "Period Name";
Sorting works. I want to get sorting without removing this Row Created function. Do you have any brighter solution about my problem?
protected void GridView_AA_RowCreated(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)

My starttime and endtime format is 2010-10-13 03:00:00,but i want to display these two fields in dropdownlist ie.,only i want to display the HH:MM:SS in dropdown so that when the user changes the time it should be automatically be reflected in the total hours(6:0) field after updating.pls tell me what i have to do to bring the Hours ,minutes and seconds in dropdownlist into the cells of gridview with the value in database ,how to write the code.

In my Gridview, I have set Gridlines to None and the gridlines in the body of the gridview are gone. However, the gridlines in the Header and Footer remain. How do you get rid of the gridlines in the header and footer?
Is there a way to do this with a stylesheet?

View 10 RepliesI have a list of objects that have values to them. Specifically one of these values if a boolean (isAbnormal) to determine whether or not the value itself is classified by our application logic as "Abnormal" or not.
I have composed a list of a mixture of abnormal/not abnormal items. I want and need to remove items from this list that aren't clsasified as being abnormal (in programming logic, isAbnormal will be false)
I have tried several ways and can think of some dirty/ugly ways to get it, but there has to be something better:

I have a listbox (UsersListBox) which shows all the users and a gridview (gvRoles) which shows the users' roles when their username is selected in UserListBox. gvRoles is below. When I click the buttonfield in gvRoles, I'd like for my OnRowDatabound event to call up the gvRoles_RowDatabound method. I'm trying to get this method to remove the username selected in UserListBox from the role in the row clicked. How do I go about that using the roles and membership classes?

how to suppress the "AM" in the gridview (template Bind("RideTimeMin", "{0:t}")? Don't tell me to use military time because the function is not "time on a clock"; it's how much time is allowed for a task (in this case the min/max hours & minutes that horses have to complete a 20 mile trail; e.g. 05:00, 05:27, etc). I'm currently accomplishing this in the "ondatabound" function by "..RTmin.Replace("AM","")". I have looked and looked at all the websites that talk about datetime formatting but have yet to find a way to do it upfront in the gridview bind statement.
View 6 Repliesusing asp.net 4 and vs 2010 I have a listview that displays data from a database. I have to configure it to display all column data where present, however, not all columns have data, with the result that blank spaces get rendered where this data would normally be displayed.

View 6 RepliesThis is the sqlDateTime overflow problem again. Background. As I'm sure you know dates must be between 1/1/1753 and 12/31/2999. If you have an empty date field, it throws and exception. So I created a function (below) that solve the problem when attempting to update or insert a record with a date field. Works great.
Public Shared Function MakeDateField(ByVal pasDate As String) As Nullable(Of DateTime)
If IsDate(pasDate) Then
Try
If pasDate <= System.DateTime.MinValue Then
Return Nothing
Else
Return CType(pasDate, DateTime)
End If
Catch ex As NullReferenceException
Return Nothing
End Try
Else
Return Nothing
End If
End Function
So I thought about using a time field. I have the field, have the validator in place and then attempted to test the page. It resulted in my least favorite error message "sqlDateTime overflow".
I can think of several workarounds like adding a date or a fixed date to the time field, or converting it to a string. Each of these is problematic.
IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO UPDATE/INSERT TIME FIELDS.
I have a gridview on my page. I have a checkbox in each row of this gridview. For each checkbox in the gridview, I'd like to update my table accordingly, but I don't want them to have to hit a submit button every time they check the checkbox. I want them to check all the boxes they need to and at the end, they should hit one submit button.
