View 3 RepliesI want to allow numbers only to be allowed for a textbox and I already do it onkeydown event by allow only numbers and prevent ctrl+V but I have two problems: if I make right click then paste so any char can be entered and I want a solution without disable right click by oncontextmenu="return false;" if I drag and drop any text it will be entered
View 2 RepliesThere are a lot of post about how to disable the Enter key in a one-line Textbox, but non of them works if you put the Textbox inside an asp:panel.I assume there are multiple eventhandlers on the keypress event on a Textbox if it is inside a panel. So I would have to add my own handler at the end of the list somehow.
View 4 RepliesI have developing ASP.Net Website and has a Webform with lots of controls. I have so many different controls on my page like buttons, textboxes, etc.
Now what happens is that generally on any form, when user hits Enter Key, it fires the first default button's click event or if focus is on any button, it fires that button click. I want to avoid this.
When user hits enter key on form basically nothing should happen. But let's say if he is entering into multiline textbox, that enter key should work to go to next line in that textbox.
I tried this.
[Code]....
but the problem is that then it disabled enter key for everything. But what I am looking for is that to avoid any button click event or any other postback to happen when user hits enter key while being on form anywhere. But Enter key should work when it is inside textbox or inside any such control.
When i press "enter" i dont want the first button that is on my page getting fired.
This is a imagebutton. I did try with a javascript function that checks the event keycode but this always returns 13.<script language="javascript"> function noEnter() { if (event.keyCode == 13) { return false; } } </script>
When i add OnClientClick="return false;" then you can't press the button at all.<asp:ImageButton
ID="backButton"
runat="server"
CausesValidation="false"
ImageAlign="AbsBottom"
ImageUrl="../../images/Global/back.gif"
OnClientClick="GoBack2_Click"
OnClick="GoBack_Click" OnClientClick="return false;"/>
When i click with the mouse on the button the Goback function does not get called.
So what i'm trying to get here that the imagebutton need to be clicked with a mouseclick and not with and enter keystroke.
I have a simple page, which have a couple of textbox controls for order number and id, and a Button control which takes the input from the textbox controls to search in database.
I found that if I type something in the textbox control and hit enter key on the keyboard, rather than use mouse to press the button control, the page will be redirected to the startup page of the web application.
I am wondering is that because of the default setting of the page or anyway I can fix this?
I used the following code to encrypt the password using md5 and store it in the database.
public partial class register : System.Web.UI.Page
{
SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection("Data Source=Shihab-PC;Initial Catalog=test;User
[code]...
I'm adding a extra functionality to an existing program. Its a Login page to manage the time a user came in and out. So first a login is asked, then (on the same page) a list with the login times are shown. The same button is used (just relabelled) for the login and time in/out.
The problem exist when users want to use enter to login and time in/out. So quickly press enter twice. No problems with the login. But the second page wont recognize the enter. even when I capture the keypress with JavaScript nothing happens. I have to click the form (or a object in the form) so the enter would work.
Tried UseSubmitBehavior, Javascript, changing focus.
I'm actually desperate and thinking of rewriting the whole thing.
iam developing my application using asp.net 2.0 and c sharp. on my default page if i select any place on the page and press enter it postsback. is it normal and can i disable this?
View 4 RepliesI'm creating an "edit-your-profile-page" and I need to know how to keep the values that the users has enter between page loads. Error controls and stuff like that.
View 2 RepliesI have a search field (text box) at the top of my page. When you type something, and press enter, the page navigates back to the previous page? What I want it to do is act as if I clicked the Search button.
View 5 Repliescan i get information about the computer that enter my page , like the currently logged user on that computer and the ip address . and if i can get the currently logged user name , isn't that considered as security risk .
View 3 RepliesI have an asp.net page which has a panel with default button and update panel and dropdownlist inside the update panel. While I fill the form when I select an item with up/down keys and press enter to select it the form is being submitted. How can I fix this?
EDIT
Some code:
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="sdsCountries" runat="server" ConnectionString="cs"
SelectCommand="SELECT CountryID, Title FROM Countries"/>
<asp:DropDownList ID="ddlCountries" runat="server" DataSourceID="sdsCountries"
DataValueField="CountryID" DataTextField="Title" AutoPostBack="True"
OnSelectedIndexChanged="ddlCountries_SelectedIndexChanged"/>.......
I have an aspx page that postsback when it should not. there are two text boxes, two listboxes and two buttons on the page. if at any-point the enter key is pressed the first button is given focus and "clicked" resulting in a loss of selection within the listboxes.
How do I disable this? there are tons of tutorials on how to capture the enter button and execute a method but I could find one on how to simply disable the neat "let me grab the first button I find and click it" feature mentioned above.
im here trying to find a solution to this problem, in a form i have a textbox and a button to do a basic search in a database, so the user types the search criteria in the textbox and then clicks on the button to search, this works just fine, the problem is when the user enter the search criteria and then press enter inside the textbox, in this scenario the user gets to the login page, its a strange behavior, its like its loggin me out of the web application, im using form authentication in asp.net with vb.net
i have trying this to disable the textbox onkeypress event, but it doesnt seem to work:
[code]...
I looked through and through and found no clean solution for this. A colleague of mine did find a pretty dirty solution but I don't see why the solutions in the links reference below does not work when I place it in a master page. I have a master page that basically has a textbox and a linkbutton, when I hit the enter key, the default button for the child page gets called instead.
http://weblogs.asp.net/jeff/archive/2005/07/26/420618.aspxset linkbutton as asp:panel in asp.net
Im using Masterpage with my asp.net application now i want to set enter for my button..
View 1 Repliesam creating a web application in using c# with asp.net.
in that am using login page only as normal aspx page. other pages are using masterpage.
when i click logout button in masterpage. page will redirect to login page. after that if i click browser back button it was moving to previous page. how can i prevent this.
am using this following code in master page aspx page. And My log out button code is below.
<%if (!Page.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated)
{ %>
<script type = "text/javascript" >
function preventBack() { window.history.forward(); }
setTimeout("preventBack()", 0);
window.onunload = function() { null };
</script>
<%} %>
But exactly what i need is once if login page loaded or logged out then it wont go to previous page.
The following code works fine for disabling content page controls, but how do I disable master page controls?
public void DisableControls(Control control,bool isEnable)
{
if (control.HasControls())
{
foreach (Control c in control.Controls)
{
DisableControls(c, isEnable);
}
}
else
{
if (control is IPostBackDataHandler && !(control is IPostBackEventHandler))
{
if (control is WebControl)
{
((WebControl)control).Enabled = isEnable;
}
else if (control is HtmlControl)
{
((HtmlControl)control).Disabled = !isEnable;
}
}
}
}
I have asp:Menu on Master page like:
[code]
On content page (Login.aspx), I got Uesr Type. For Admin type only, I need to show the above bold menu item. No problem for getting User Type as "Admin". Just problem is that, how to visible/in-visible or enabled/disabled above bold text menu item?
I Have a login page and I want to disable the menu options from my master page.
I have come across the following code:
[Code]....
But when I put this into the page load it gives me syntax errors stating menu is a type and cannot be used as an expression.
Is it possible to stop my page posting back when the user presses the enter (return) key..?
View 4 RepliesI am having an odd issue where when I hit the 'enter' key, a button on my page (not on the Popup) is being activated. Consequently, it is firing a command that I do not want fired.Put another way, I have a ModalPopup with a 'TextBox', 'Image', and three buttons. I can click inside of the TextBox, begin typing, then hit 'enter', and for some reason it acts as though I am clicking on a button that is on my page, not on the Popup.
View 1 RepliesI have a grid view which is placed in update panel and when i am trying to click outside the page and press enter the first row in my grid view is getting focus.What m looking for is that on pressing enter nothing should happen in the page.
View 1 RepliesI have a Master Page for all my ASP.NET pages. It works fine for 95% of pages... Except that it also includes unwanted attributes that are included in the other 5% of pages. This causes application problems. Is it possible for Content Pages to somehow select to enable/disable a feature available in the master page? One option I can think of is for the Master Page to look at the page name and then decide what to do, but that's a bit clunky in the long run.
