How To Debug Into Dll Source File From Web Project
Oct 21, 2010
I have web project and window project.Web project reference from window project and I want to debug from web project to source code in window project. Where do I setup to look for debug source code in window project.
I copied all source code from another computer. but on another computer can debug just fine. All that different is where the source file is located. so I think it should have some config in studio that tell where the source file is.

When i compile my vs2008 solution which is a web application in debug mode i keep getting message box displayed which says that it cannot connect "whatever.designer.cs". Can
I want to debug EditPanel.debug.js file of HTML Editor, but it never shows in VS 08 and Im sure it executes to that line. What I did to enable debuggingUnchecked both 2 checkboxes for disabling the debugging
Set ScriptMode="Debug"
Change following line
[ClientScriptResource("AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.EditPanel", "AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.EditPanel.js")] to [ClientScriptResource("AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.EditPanel", "AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.EditPanel.debug.js")]
Debug-Start Debugging/Debug-StartWithoutDebugging OR Project ASP.Net Configuration launches Dreamweaver. It started lastnight, I had both Deamweaver and VWD 2008 express open at the same time - (I was looking at JQuery in the Microsoft and Dreamweaver enviroments simultaniously). After the first tie this happened, I closed down Dreamweaver (CS3) and it opened when I tried to run my VWD project. I reinstalled VWD 2008 express, IIS and disabled Dreamweaver (renamed the exe). Dreamweaver still came up.
I have two projects in my solution 1- asp.net web project. 2- wcf serivce project. 3- other common projects between two listed above
Current on the local dev machine I have to run two visual studio instance to run both projects in debug mode. That makes the system run out of resources as these projects share some other project in the soultion which are heavy in files.
Is there a way i can hookup the wcf project on a sinlge visual stodio instance and also be able to debug my asp.net web project. ? I do not want to combine the web and wcf project in to one. Have already considred this option.
i just upgrade my MVC 1 project to MVC 3. and now in my current project [MVC3] have no views as old have.
when i run them or debug i found that everything i can see means all pages i can see by debug this blanks views project who still not have any views. i am wonder. i restart them and try by disk cleaning but their is nothing goes right. don't wonder if you not understand it:-
i have two project [first in MVC1 and 2nd in MVC3] MVC1 project have views. MVC3 project still not have any views but for testing i make blanks page. i wonder by debugging blanks views MVC3 project i can see everything who already My MVC1 project have. why this problem come are reason is that same name of both project. i am trying this when i run only project MVC3 [no-views] but they show me everything i can see in MVC1 project. well are their any way to solve this problem
NExT STEP:
i found that the problem is that i have two copy of a project. first in MVC 1 and 2nd in MVC 3 [razor] i found that when i run in MVC3 project who is in D drive the code they debug is MVC1 who is in C drive. i find out this by checking server.mappath i wonder how they debug mvc1 project when i debug MVC3 project
When I debug the project for viewing and fixing design issue than I see all the test are running as well. How I stop this so that my tests don't run while working on my UI project?
I just created my first MVC2 project using the standard template. I need to be able to change the default browser for my project to test in IE (I use chrome as the default on my OS). Unfortunately, the right click on default.aspx suggestion which worked in MVC1 can't work with these new projects as they don't have that file.
Some days ago all of my projects started working crazily - I'm using VS 2010, .NET 4.0, Silverlight 4 SDK, WP7 SDK. The previously compiled code parts can be debugged as they should be, but as soon as I make any change to the observed .cs file all symbols are ignored.
"The breakpoint will not currently be hit. The source code is different from the original version."
However, the compile is successful, moreover the changes in the code can be seen in the debug mode as well (e.g. if i add messagebox.show(...) it works as expected), but I'm unable to debug the project.
This happens to my Silverlight, WPF, WP7 solutions, Web Applications, so everything important. The most annoying thing is that I even reinstalled Visual Studio, the whole .NET Framework 4 Client Profile, but nothing changed.
I don't want to reinstall the whole OS, but this way i'm unable to work:/
I am not able to debug a Remote web project (Where the project files are located in another server which is in the same network). I am getting the below error message:
Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. at System.RuntimeType.InvokeDispMethod(String name, BindingFlags invokeAttr, Object target, Object[] args, Boolean[] byrefModifiers, Int32 culture, String[] namedParameters) at System.RuntimeType.InvokeMember(String name, BindingFlags bindingFlags, Binder binder, Object target, Object[] providedArgs, ParameterModifier[] modifiers, CultureInfo culture, String[] namedParams) at System.RuntimeType.ForwardCallToInvokeMember(String memberName, BindingFlags flags, Object target, Int32[] aWrapperTypes, MessageData& msgData) at Excel.Range.get__Default(Object RowIndex, Object ColumnIndex) at InventoryADD.Button1_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in \10.38.23.228q1uatassettrackInventoryADD.aspx.cs:line 670
It works fine when i try to access the website through IIS. Shud i do some setting changes on VS 2005?
Basically I want to take the following:And make it match the styling of the rest of the application.I am creating a custom error page in my C# based project and I want it to be able to show the same information that is displayed in the ASP.NET default error page. From fiddling with reflector I can see that this is generated through HttpException.GetHtmlErrorMessage() but when I try to use this in my exception it returns null.
I'm fairly new to web service development, and I am really confused about how ASP.Net Development Server synchronizes with code during debug mode. When I make changes to my service, I cannot figure out how to propigate those changes so that my client can "see" them (I've been able to synchronize through a stumbling series of publishing the service, viewing the service in browser, etc... but I have a feeling there's a more reliable system than my random ritual). Here are the symptoms I'm seeing: After I've made a change to the code behind my service (Service1.svc.cs), started the application through the debugger and attached the debugger to the WebDev.WebServer.exe process as well, my latest changes are not executed, and my breakpoints are not hit (they have the message that "The source code is different from the original version." What really baffles me, though, is that when the ASP.Net Development Server notification pops up in my system tray, its physical path points to my project folder, so I don't understand how it could be looking at anything but my current code files.
I am trying to display a couple of charts of my site. The two charts are here: [URL]. I did a right-click and "view page source", copied the pertinent information into my project and when I run it, I only see a parameter, or outline of where the chart should be. I see pretty much everything EXCEPT for the chart. I've been to other sites and was able to display the chart DJIA chart in my project, but it doesn't update throughout the day. Is there an easy way to set up these kinds of charts, or do you need some kind of direct connection to one of the exchanges or some such thing?
I know nopCommerce and dashCommerce quite well, but I so far have never found any open source shopping cart (including HumanResources and Vendors) bigger than the nopCommerce. I'm wondering whether AdventureWorks database comes together with a web project or other UI projects as an open source. Or it just exists as a sample database only.
I've just started investigating the Microsoft Ajax Minifer 4.0 for use with a Visual Studio 2008 Web Application I work on. It's proven easy enough to hook it into the .csproj file so it produced .min.js files for all scripts, however I'm stumped as to how to integrate this with the Web Setup project & Source Control.
Essentially what I want to do is have the resultant .min.js files included in the Web Setup project without having them included in Source Control because:
Having to check them out prior to the build being executing is a pain (the minifier cannot modify them if they're not checked out).
As they're created as a "build artifact" it just seems wrong to have them stored under source control.
The only option I've managed to come across so far is to explicitly include the .min.js files as part of the Setup project by right clicking on the Web Setup project and choosing "Add > File", and then having the relevant folder hierarchy duplicated in "File System on Target Machine" so that I can force the file to the correct location. This is neither elegant or simple/robust as:
It requires me to manually add every minified js file to the Web Setup project by hand Maintain a copy of the relevant directory structure in both the Web Application project and the Web Setup projec Remember to add any new js files minified versions to the Web Setup project.
I was merging my web.config file and one I downloaded for open source forums, as it told me to. I copied the different lines myself, but now I'm getting three compile errors in my file.
Here are the errors:
1- The 'compliation' start tag on line 47 does not match the end tag of 'system.web'. Line 205, position 4.
2- Tag was not closed. (On line 47, column 4)
3- Expecting end tag </compilation>. (On line 205, column 3)
