How To Rebind The Grid With Cached Dataset Stored In Session

I have a grid with one TemplateField which is a checkbox and say 2 bound fields.
In Page_Load on postback I rebind the grid with cached dataset stored in session. If user selects checkbox on the grid, upon postback i can iterate on the grid and get those checked values, everything works fine.
If I move the code of grid binding on postback to OnInit instead of Page_Load then i loose those user checked checkbox data. Why? Should the postback data not overlay on top of the grid after oninit?
It does work with page_load, I'm assuming that when i rebind the grid, I'm overlaying my data on grid which has postback data, since the checkbox column is not bound i do not overwrite postback data.
NOTE: viewstate is disabled on my grid, i bind data (stored in session) on everyback postback. Also something weird, when I'm using OnInit, on every postback i get the first page of the grid, no matter which page the postback was triggered.

Till now I used to design RDLC file before and assigned typed dataset table columns.Report processing mode is local. But now my stored procedure returns different columns based on condition i.e columns are not fixed every time. Now I need to add that columns to typed dataset and dataset is assigned to RDLC file. So dataset and RDLC files are create dynamically based on stored procedure result set columns.
I'm currently developing a website using VS2010 Express/SQL Express 2008, and am using the applications development server to test.
I have created an access layer which effectively takes all my cachable data and creates datasets.
I've also created a system wheras for each dataset, For each dataset I also create a token cached object (a string), which is set to expire before the dataset. The theory behind this is that when my token expires and is removed from cache, it calls a routine to rebuild the dataset, and re-caches the new result, then creates a new token. Think of it as a poor mans SQL dependency.
What this allows me to do is rebuild datasets behind the scenes with little interruption/delay throughout the day. It all works great - for instance when a user updates a table containing 100,000+ records on the site, the dataset rebuilds at hourly intervals reworking and consolidating the data in the background before representing it in a smaller cachable form.
What I would like to know is this. If I was to replace the database during the usable day (only updating the tables that users don't update), lets say adding 50 new records, would it cause the cache to be dropped. The reason I ask is because it the cache remains until its exipry time, I can replace the database and rebuild datasets incorporating new data in the background when the token expires. If the cache is dropped when I update the database, it will mean interuption whilst I reload the datasets and will change my strategy on uploading new data.
I ask the question because I'm currently working on the development server and unable to test in a live server environment at present.
Is it possible to use mixed cookieless sessions with cookie sessions? I've an application that captured user details and then redirect for payment to an ssl page. I was wondering if this is possible? [URL] redirects to [URL] Note: the session Id in the latter url. So in essence, we use the standard cookie session for the majority of the application but when we transfer to an ssl page we pass the SessionId to the https url to pick up the session. I've tried this locally but it starts a new session.

I have a small query can we store three different stored procedure data into single dataset (in multiple tables). I am asking this because I have three stored procedure and when I run them simultaneously it takes less time to execute and when I run them separately it takes more time and I want to use all three stored procedure in page load. I am trying to insert a UserID column into a database table during membership creation. I have my tables set up in a dataset with the stored procedure in there. Now I am trying to call that stored procedure in the newuserwizard code and I it is not recognizing the stored procedure. I know it is because my dataset is not referenced in the newuserwizard code. I'm working on an application that allows our Office Services people to schedule employee location moves. The page I'm currently working on allows for modification of scheduled moves. When the user attempts to save changes in this page, the app runs a stored proc to see if there are any conflicts, e.g., someone already sitting in the new location, someone scheduled to move into the employee's location before the employee is scheduled to move, etc. These conflicts, if any, are then displayed for the user and he/she has to make changes to one or more moves to resolve the conflict. This all works just fine. My problem comes when the user has resolved all the conflicts (or thinks he or she has). I need to check again to make sure that there are not still conflicts somewhere before allowing the data to be saved back to the database. So, I've got data for at least two scheduled moves, but this data does not necessarily match what's in the database.
I want to run the same stored procedure that I initially used on this dataset. The stored proc uses three database tables, plus the proposed move information to check for conflicts. What I'm trying to do (but please tell me if there's a totally different approach that would be better) is I've created 3 DataTables, using the 3 tables that my stored proc uses. The tables are Employee, Location and Moves. I've then put all these tables into a DataSet. I've updated my Moves DataTable with the proposed new move information. Now I want to run my stored proc on this dataset to see if I get any rows (i.e., if there are still any conflicts). But I can't just run the stored proc; it references the tables in the database. I want to run my stored proc on this DataSet. The stored proc is very long and takes 5 parameters which are referenced all through it, so I don't want to just create a DataViewManager using the SQL.
I am suing xsd file in my app_code file and It gets data from stored procdure. But I am failling with update and delete functions. Am I doning something wrong ?

How do I pass a dataset object to a stored procedure? The dataset comprises multiple tables and I'll need to be able to access them from within the SQL.
We are in the process of migrating our current asp.net gridviews to silverlight grids. The challenge that I am facing here is that in the gridview, the grid is bind to a dataset/datatable. But in silverlight, I do not have dataset/datatable available in the silverlight class. So only option is to create a Webservice and convert the dataset that I am currently getting from business layer to a class that imlements IList<> (unless there are any other ways). Now to convert this dataset to Ilist, I have to loop through the dataset to load the List. In my current dataset I have almost 10,000 records or even more in some cases. So the response time will be really slow.Are there anyways to
1) Load the List from dataset directly without looping through ?
2) Fetch the data from database directly to a List without having loading the dataset ?
This may not be the correct place to put this as it is both a stored procedure AND Visual Studio 2008 problem.

I have been mokeying around with it because of what is happening. I have a dataset, call it dataset1. I drag this stored procedure onto the dataset. I EXPECT a datatable to appear, instead the data set adds this store procedure to the queries table adapter and sets the exec mode to 'NonQuery' which unless I am very mistaken, means "don't expect a dataset back from this' when in fact you DO expect a dataset back from this.
The SQL server is a Windows 2000 Server running SQL 2000. It has never caused us a moments grief since we set it up oh-so-many years ago.
If I connect to a different database and drag a query into the same dataset I get a datatable as I expect. I cannot see where / how this procedure could be wrong. The query when executed returns exactly the data I expect, in the format I expect (looks like a table, acts like a table in the Query analyzer).

I have a stored procedure in my database that sorts a dataset by distance from the specific address input by the user. The distance is created among each individual users query and the sorting of distance occurs within my stored procedure, the distance is not returned in the output. Is there a way I can create a temporary column that returns the distance so that I can give the user an option to sort by distance?
