IIS Configuration :: Website Working Fine On Local But Does Not Work On Server
Jan 4, 2013
In my site on every load some session is made through url and single page(say xyz.aspx) is call every time and on the basis of url we create session. When i click on a href tag , page start reloading ,url we created is accurate but data doesn't change every time, means some time it show data on first click, but some time after 3 or 4 click.
I say problem is weird because when i run this on my local server there is no problem, when i run this on my project (visual studio) there is no problem , but when i up this project on my online server it show this kind of error but not every time .
I use data caching to fill dataset. There is no problem in this website since we created this (more than 1 year) and we don't made any change on this page but suddenly it starts showing this kind of error so what kind of error this is.
My application is working fine in local environment but not working after push code in live. My locale environment and hosting environment both are having same configuration. Same app working fine 2 month before but in different domain but same hosting server.
how to check the both config / any possible to run debug mode in hosting server please let me know. below code used in all page for checking user session status but when I click on any link page redirect to login.aspx I think session got timeout. I don't know why session got time frequently, but this issue not happening in local environment (desktop).
I have a solution that has 2 projects in it... Project #1 is a class I created some time back to deal with the basic data connection and passing data back and forth.
The 2nd project is the new current project (web site).
Everything works fine in local mode but after I have compiled Project #1 and created a referance in Project #2 then compiled Project #2 and published to the server...
I am running on Windows 7 64bit, .NET 4.0, Access 2010, SQLExpress (loging only), C#... I have rebuilt Project #1 several times as an x86, AnyCPU, and x64... they all give the same result...
I get the following error when the web site is run.
Well I am having a problem when I have put my .NET 2.0 web site on IIS 6. I have used UrlMapping to redirect some old urls. It is working fine when I am using it on the VS local server port but when I deploy it to IIS 6, its giving a 404 Page not found error.
I've found that in a few forums they are talking about using Wildcard Mapping, but none of them provide me with a good explanation of how to achieve this. Added to this, what are the security risks of doing such a modification on IIS Level (if there are any?)
I am working on ASP.NET Ajax site. Application is working fine when I run in my local machine, but same code if I place in Server then it is giving "SpanID is undefined" Javascript error. I found error is due to UI.dll file.
I have modified a part of code of an existing web application. Once it worked fine on my local machine, I moved it to the common server. But, when different users hit the common server, the web application is behaving differently. I tried stopping and starting the website on the common server and it worked fine for sometime around a day and again it started working differently for different users. Then I tried to restart the IIS on the common server and it worked fine for once and again bounced back. Can anyone please suggest the areas where I can check to resolve the issue.
i developed an asp.net web site and i used ModuleRewriter to rename my pages you can refer to this link [URL] and i want to add many pages programatically at run time for example i have a page named :
[URL]styles/defaultstyle/Default.aspx
and i want to display this page like this :
[URL]Default.aspx
so my code was like this :
public static void confgrewriter() { try { RewriterRuleCollection rules = RewriterConfiguration.GetConfig().Rules; RewriterRule r = new RewriterRule(); r.LookFor ="~/Dfealut.aspx" ; r.SendTo ="~/styles/defaultstyle/Default.aspx"; rules.Add(r); } catch (Exception ex) { } }
and this solution is working very good on iis at my local machine but when i did upload this website on shared host i recive error message: The resource cannot be found.
Description:
HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
There's a project I'm doing now which is an ASP.net 2.0 written website with SQL database. (it was just assigned to me for deployment and no contact to programmer who is AWOL :-)
Scope of project is to move everything from live site to local server and display/execute exactly the way it does on the livesite (web).
Already configured Windows 2003 server as IIS and successfully restored the database through SQL 2008.
Since I am new to ASP.net deployment this is where my trouble starts: manually copied httpdocs folder to local server, copy website through MS web developer and tried to run it on local machine http://127.0.x.x/default.aspx for the home page. from there I am getting a server error log specifically the line " <configuration xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/.NetConfiguration/v2.0">"
I know I have some work to do in here I do want to call the attention of ghw123 since he
is familiar with the dynamics of IIS and moving websites. Another thing I would like to point is the local server doesn't display any IP address when running ipconfig or ping from command prompt i simply pull out the ip info from the running IIS service itself. Lastly, I need to figure out which file/folders are really running on the livesite since there are lots of them (for other purpose maybe) on the remote server it is hosted.
I created a website using VS2010. When I run the website using built-in web server, everything works fine. The website recognizes javascript and aurigma uploader. When I publish the website to local folder and tried to access using IIS 5.1 on local pc, the java scipt files did not work. I was getting yellow triangle sign at the bottom of the page indicating the object is expected. I tried to look online but i could not find any answer. I have included jquery and javascript file in the header section of master
I am using crystal reports in my web application which came along with visual studio 2008.My problem here is export and print buttons in crviewer are working fine in my local system but when i hosted the app in server actual problem came into picture.Export and print buttons are not working.
At page level I have set EnableEventValidation="false" and at Page_load below code is written:
Code: grdMaster.Attributes.Add("OnClick", String.Format("{1};this.disabled = true;document.getElementById('lblProgress').innerHTML='Generating...It will take approx 30 Mins.'; {0};", ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(grdMaster, ""), "")); Above coding is fine in IE but it does not work in Mozilla. What could be the reason?and what is the solution on this?
I have created a crystal following your article which url is
[URL]
It is working fine on local machine but when i upload it on the server it is not working. Crystal Report is showing but data is not showing in the crystal report.
I am having a webmethod that returns some data.I'm using jquery to call that function with its Content type specified as XML.The problem is that it is working on local machine but not on server. The code i'm using is:
var arrInputs = pnl.getElementsByTagName("input"); str = arrInputs[0].value; $.ajax({[code]....
Ajaxfinish is defined afterwards and it works fine on local. Is there some more settings i need to do to make it executable
I previously crate website in framework 2.0 before one year and there is working good on server. But Currently I download same site on my local machine and configure again in Visual Studio 2008 with framework 2.0 compiler then do new changes on site and it running good on localhost. But the same code I upload on server again They can't work code properly. In new code I changes some XML file that retrieve data and save data, but I add new code in this XML file so it can't work with new code but previous code is working as good as previous.
The error is mentioned below, the cssfriendly.dll is in bin, and browser file is in there app_browsers folder. And it is working in same PC (developping PC), on remote server that belong to my company (i just installed .net 3.5 on that server)
I tried uploading the same site on 2 dufferents hosting, and finally i got the same error. What could gone wrong ? I tried contacting the hosting support but they work in ticketing system and this is extremely slow.
Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'CSSFriendly.MenuAdapter'.
I have developed a website using visual studio. Now i want to deploy the same on server having windows server 2008 o.s. and IIS 7. When i copy the website and paste it into wwwroot folder of iis its not working. What settings need to be done so that website can be accessed from iis.
I am sorry to be asking what is probably a really stupid question, but i have a problem with my asp menu, when i run it on my dev machine(thru vs2010) it works perfectly, all the menu's are displayed correctly with the correct child items in the correct order but when i publish it to the server all the menu items become flat and take up the whole page. I am populating the menu using a reentrant function as follows to call the function and add the menus i am using
Dim childMenuItems As List(Of MenuItem) = CreateMenuLevel(0, uniquemenulist) childMenuItems.ForEach(Sub(n) NavigationMenu.Items.Add(n)) Public Function CreateMenuLevel(ByVal parentId As Integer, ByVal menulist As List(Of MenuList)) As List(Of MenuItem) Dim menuItems As New List(Of MenuItem) For Each menuListItem As MenuList In menulist.Where(Function(n) n.ParentId = parentId) Dim MenuItem As New MenuItem If (Not String.IsNullOrEmpty(menuListItem.PagePath)) Then MenuItem.NavigateUrl = menuListItem.PagePath End If MenuItem.Text = menuListItem.MenuName MenuItem.Selectable = True MenuItem.Enabled = True menuItems.Add(MenuItem) Dim childMenuItems As List(Of MenuItem) = createMenuLevel(menuListItem.MenuId, menulist) childMenuItems.ForEach(Sub(n) MenuItem.ChildItems.Add(n)) Next Return menuItems End Function
now as i say this all works fine in the dev environment so i dont think its a coding issue unless i am missing something mad.
server 2003 x64 iis 6.0 asp 4.0.303.19 relevant .net 4 framework packs installed dev environment visual studio 2010
am using the same browser for to check both dev and server
I can't believe the number of issues that seem to work fine on test but completely crash and burn on production.I have a situation where the code works fine in the test/development environment, but when you press a button in production, it crashes with:
[Code]....
Its just a button push, that is suppose to rebind a quantity change back to the database that the user has changed in a textbox in Gridview Edit.
I have a Web App (VS 2010 Beta 2, using VB) and it works flawlessly on the development system. When I publish it, everything works fine unless I use an update panel. If I use the update panel, and try to use something such as a dragpanel, I get the following error.
