Installation :: Can't Get An Icon To Show For Desktop Shortcut And Program Menu
Aug 5, 2010
I've created a SetupWizard, but can't get it to show the Icon for the shortcut on desktop and program menu. The installation goes fine without any errors, the only problem is the icon.
I've made a shortcut of my exe file in the Application Folder and dragged the shortcut to the Desktop folder, then on the shortcut properties, I assigned it an icon picture located in Application Folder.
I have a webpage that I'd like to display a different shortcut icon depending on whatever the status is of the app. I have the page pin'd in Firefox so I can always see the icon. How to accomplish this?
For enterprise intranet web application, is there any way to create a desktop shortcut of web application on user's desktop? I'm looking for functionality similar to Google Gears, but without installing Google Gears. I'm looking to give user's a link on web application that says "Click here to install desktop shortcut", when they click on it, a desktop shortcut is installed with the custom icon for our application. Is there a way to do it using javascript or any other client side technologies? I don't want to run any exe on user's machines. Even though it's intranet, I have to jump through lot of corporate hoops, compliance approvals, etc to run exe on their machine. We are trying to avoid that, due to time constraints. User machines are windows XP with IE6 installed. They may all upgrade within next year's time to Windows 7 with IE8. Intranet web application in question is developed using asp.net 3.5, c#.
I have developed a desktop program for a customer.I have used SQL Server on my ofiice while i am developing.Now its time to install the program my customer's office,Which SQL edition i should use? (At least)Only usage for them about SQL is: Backup and storing datas.

i assigning an imagebutton to an image url in css causes my image to still show, but also the icon for an image if there isn't an image. If I declare it in the html instead, it shows fine, only when I try to use CSS for the referene to the image url.I use the following syntax for the image in css
background-image: url(image1.jpg);
Again, it is finding and showing the image, but it is also showing the windows image icon.
Is there any way that I can get the list of All the available shortcut key options listed from within IDE itself in Visual Studio 2008/2010? Because every time I used to bing and find on web for that.
I'm trying to style an asp:Menu, so that when I hover over a child menu, all the parent menu's will have the background mouse over selected colour. (Take a look at the win xp start menu for example, with default theme blue, all parent menu's will be highlighted as blue if a child is selected) At first I thought this was something simple, but after intense researching (google), I am beginning to wonder...
I have an accordian inside a nested gridview that is controlled by an imagebutton. The Imagebutton is a plus sign "+" and the expand/collapse functionality is working great.
What I need to do is when the user expands the accordian is to change the plus ("+") sign to a minus ("-") image. I am trying to do this with javascript but its not working.
I have the following list of projects WebUI (WebSite) , DataAccess (ClassLibrary) , LogicLayer(ClassLibrary). Those of the project are purposively crated separately.But my scenario is, need to create only one solution file, then add all of the above projects under this solution file. So that i can be easiy interacted and changes can be made by opening solution file only instead of opening each project individually.
Simply all of the layer projects are under one roof means one solution. I tried it by adding solution first, then i added already existed project into this. But once after added already existing project the solution icon vanished by showing the icon of recently added project. By this way I could not add another project into this section too.Hope this is the way the basic real-time projects are created; to achieve the centralized control over architecture based projects.
I have a VS2010 project that I want to move back and forth between an x86 and an x64 machine. On the x86 machine, several assemblies are located in Program Files, and the path of the assemblies are shown as c:Program Files...... When I move this project to the x64 machine, the same assemblies are located in C:Program Files (x86).... Is there a way that I can confugure VS2010 so I don't have to manually change the path when I move the project from one machine to another?
I have a few items apart of my Web.sitemap file that rely on querystring or session variables. I do not want these items to appear in my menu. Is there a way to hide it from the menu, but still be in the sitemap (for sitepath control).
my project is related to tour and travels, i have created menus which are on masterpage, it contains, Home | hotel| bus| car etc... menus when i move pointer to hotel it will show me submenus like, add new hotel, modify hotel ,delete hotel etc... but one thing i want to do when i click on hotel menu it should display me the searchscreen for hotel searching i have created usercontrol for hotel searching, i have register that control on index.aspx page of masterpage. but the problem is that when i run that project before showing menus it shows error "Object expected" after clicking on ok button it displays menus, then i move pointer on any menu it will not show me the submenu while if i haven't register the search usercontrol and run the website it will show me submenus properly and one more thing if i select the search criteria and click on save button it again shows me same error "object expected" why it gives me error?
