I try to install vistual 2005 on Win 7 On meantime I have net1.0 sp3 developer ;net Framework 2.0 , Microsoft Device Emulator version1.0 -ENU,Microsoft Visual J#2.0 Redistributable Package( can I uninstall This package)the studin 2005, but when I try to install the update (VSBsp1-KB926747-x86-INTL) i get hte error:The update patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be updated may be missing, or te upgrade patch may update a different version of the program, verify that the program to beupgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct Upgrade patch how to deat with this problem??

But the installer doesn't work properly on Windows XP. The MVC 3 templates doesn't appear after install.

Just trying to download it from [URL] for the first time. Web Platform Installer says regarding "Frameworks and Runtimes" (and also "Visual Studio Tools"), "All the recommended products from this group are already installed", even though they're not. Did have something called Visual Studio Runtime Redistributable installed which is just a handful of DLL's. I uninstalled it though - made no difference. Also removed entries from registry with "Visual Studio" in them, also made no difference.

am using a windows service created by me it works fine in debug mode.I have created a setup for installation of windows service and installed it on the same machine.For testing i am creating a notepad file in c:\temp123.txtIts working gr8 in debug mode but not working when installed using a set up . also i have used same set up on another machine.Its not working thr as well.What can be the reason.Note:- two weeks back i have checked it using installer on another machine it was working, but suddenly now its not working any where.

I am getting really fed up trying to install MVC 3, I have bloged about the problem here - [URL] To sum it up, after ages of digging around, I finally managed to track it down to the aspnetwebpages.msi component. I am not sure what to do next as I have tried to repair, remove, force delete as well as a few other things, but I am just getting no where. I have a normal system - I upgraded to Windows 7 SP1 yesterday, VS 2010 SP1 today and have never had any Betas installed apart from Web Matrix which I uninstalled today (after the VS SP1).

Seemed simple. I clicked on install now, downloaded and ran the Web Installer. First, ASP.Net MVC didn't install. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice without luck. The Web Installer insists ASP.NET MVC is already installed. Second, given a nice menu of CMS dbs to try, I tried Atomz, N2CMS and Umbraco. Atom won't work with the net version downloaded via this download, so why is it even included here? I could not figure out what N2CMS or Umbraco wanted in terms of user names and passwords, so those CMS's didn't install. So, what all do I really need to create a website with ASP.Net MVC? Do I need Visual Studio Express (don't we have to pay for this?). I have Win 7 64 Home Premimum.

I have an ASP.NET site that uses impersonation. As the impersonated user I use a domain user (not a local machine user). The site is hosted in IIS 6 running on Windows 2003. In IIS 6 for directory security windows authentication is ticked.The site has been running now for about 6 months without any problem. However since about a week back the site has started spuring up really wierd errors. For one, users cannot access the site anymore. When accessing a windows authentication dialog box appears having the user to enter the credentials. However these credentials are not accepted and the standard unauthorized page is displayed

1.Drivers(i.e exe file) for one hardware machine.[IT shouuld automatically run and install in the program file]
2.I have to register MSCOMM32.ocx.Its entry would go into the registry.(like manually we do Regsvr32 path of OCX to register it)

I tried installing the asp.net package on my PC today. I had just made a fresh install of Win 7 pro 64 bit, basically a disk wipe, re-install and all Windows updates.
If I remember correctly, there was a list of 21 products to install. When it got to 19 (Visual Web developer), it stayed there with no error message for a very long time until I got tired of it and cancelled using task manager (pressing Cancel yielded no results).I then tried re-starting the PC in Safe Mode w/networking. The WPI "knew" I had already installed the other products and suggested I install Web Developer and SQL Server. This time, I did get errors, but the error log basically said that the instal program returned "1601" (install failed),
I also tried installing Web Developer only, omitting SQL server. This didn't help. suggest a patch, or alternative way of completing this install?

i finally got vwd to work as an admin(windows 7) but now i get the error screen below:
Where can i find these, i went to add/remove programs, windows features, and there is only one box checked for ii6, no other options, no "Windows Authentication". Can I get these items somewhere else? I didn't see them on iis web site either.

I have recently installed VS2008 standard edition after using VS2008 express and VS2010 Express (on this same laptop) running Windows 7 Build 7100.
On clicking "Debug" the error appears:
"Unable to start program

The debugger is not properly installed. Cannot debug the requested type of code. Run setup to install or repair the debugger."
This is for a Web Site - File System originally created in VS2008 express.

I have an app that I've built with VS 2008 Pro, which I believe uses version 3.5 of the .Net Framework. I want to run this app on an older machine to test the layout with some older browsers. The site is simple static site. This older machine doesn't have version 3.5 of the framework installed.
If I install just the 3.5 Framework on this older machine, can I then run the site in the browser without having VS2008 or VWD 2008 installed? I want to tweak the css in for the older browsers.

I just upgraded to VS2010 and am having issues with my development machine. I have a number of MVC sites hosted on my local IIS (Windows 7, 64 bit). Before the installation of VS2010/.NET 4 everything ran fine.
