I have a error when I'm trying to browse the web service in IIS6. I checked with a sample textile with the IIS6, its working fine. But when I'm rying to browse the asp.net web service it getting fail. The same web service working with some other machine, but not with this machine. see the screen for the error information
View 9 Replies I am getting an error saying "ASPNET account is not present in this machine" when I try to install Sitecore on my machine after I installed visual studio 2008..
- My machine is running on windows XP sevice pack 3
- I installed Visual Studio 2008 and .NET framework version 3.5 SP1 on that machine
- I can see that ASPNET User group account Under Users and Groups and it doesn't have "Account is locked out" ticked under general tab
- Also I ran aspnet_regiis -i many times but didn't help; actually I red in one post that I should delete ASPNeT account first and run the script but still didn't help
- when I view http://localhost on IE I can view the ASP home page without any problem but Firefox asks me to enter user name and password.
Net Framework 2.0 Net Framework 3.5 and above, but not addobjects that I use when I use ajax added. Why can not I add the NetFramework 2.0.

I have OS windows 7(64 bits), Visual studio 2008 and Oracle 11g I have run "InstallAllOracleASPNETProviders.sql" who comes with the Oracle installation. When I run in debug I can run this application, but not otherwise. And in IIS manager, I can't se the Oracle provider? In Visual Studio 2008 I have a Class Library project (called Media) to which I added a Web Reference (not a Service Reference) to a third-party web service (wsdl). In the Class Library project a proxy class is created for using the service along with several classes for the types used in that service.
I also have a second Class Library (called Sync) that references the first one. And then I have a Web Site project that references the second class library. All of this is .NET 3.5
So Web Site > Class Library (Sync) > Class Library with web service reference (Media)
I want to step into the generated code, so I fire up the web site in IIS 7.5 and trigger the call to a method in the second class library (Sync) that in turn should call the web service proxy. I was fully expecting to hit the breakpoint, but instead got an exception:

Why is ASP.NET trying to generate a temporary class? Don't I already have the generated class from the first Class Library (Media)?

i was normally using VS2005 and SQL server 2005... i upgraded to SQL Server 2008... and then... i could not build my project anymore... because of this error: Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. I had search from google about this error and try a lot of solution but still getting the error.
I had tested the following solution
1.) Delete the temp folder in C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files and rebuild the project
2.) Double check did any duplicate files name and dll in the same folder.
3.) remove dll files in bin folder manually and rebuild the project.
On running any .aspx page through IIS, it is Showing followin Error:

Part of it's function will be to write files to other servers accessable via file share on the same domain. With that in mind I enabled impersonation and set up the account. I now get the following error:
The current identity ([domainuseraccount]) does not have write access to 'C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFramework64v2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files'.
I have gone into the security tab for this directory and added this user with FULL CONTROL, I can reboot the server and re-look at the security tab for this directory and I can SEE that the permission are there.
If I take the impersonation account and make it an administrator it all works fine. Obviously that is NOT what I want to do.This is a windows 2008 R2 server running on a domain. The impersonation account is a domain account not a local account. The impersonation account has been added to the local 'Users' group.
I am stumped. I can see that the account DOES have full permissions on the directory, but the error message persists.Back in the days of Windows 2000 there were steps that had to be taken to set ntfs permissions that would allow impersonation (or even the asp.net) accounts to work properly. I have not found a similar document for Windows 2008 R2.
I installed vs2003.net on sbs2003 with IIS6 (.net framework 1.1) I created my first app, put a label on webform1 and run the project (debug)
1 - messagebox: "Error while trying to run project: unable to start debugging on the web server. The project is not configured to be debugged (I did a lot of searching, found tons of so-called solutions, but neither works)
2 - run the project from the menu Start without debugging. I got a server-error: <authentication mode = Windows in web.config)
Two questions:
a. when the app runs under VS.2003 it uses IIS ?
b. if not, why doesnot run the app ? if so, which website it uses in the IIS-manager (is that the Default website or other ?). What happens when I delete all the websites in IIS-manager and run the app in VS2003 ?
I have created a website which has a main level and 2 sub categories which can only be accessed if logging in. I am using visual web developer 2008.So for example i have admin and prodpage as a subfolder which requires authentication. I currently have

It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level
Note:i have added in the main part of the config a forms authenitication but this redirects me start to the login page upon loading website which is not what i want. This part was meant for prodpage.

Where can i find these, i went to add/remove programs, windows features, and there is only one box checked for ii6, no other options, no "Windows Authentication". Can I get these items somewhere else? I didn't see them on iis web site either.

I tried to run aspnet_regiis.exe -i, rebooted but this did not work.
I tried to uninstall, reboot, reinstall .net from the Windows component section of Add/Remove Programs.
I have been trying to fix this issue for several hours now, and I was hoping to find out if someone can shed some more light on it. I get the above error on ONLY ONE virtual root in my IIS 5.1 installation. I have other web sites I am developing in .NET 2.0 and 3.5 and they seem to work fine. This is a development workstation with only 1 user, and I get this error continuallyevery time I access only 1 of my web sites - even after rebooting the machine. It makes no difference what order I access the web sites in - this one always fails and the other ones always succeed.

I have installed and repaired .NET 4.0 already, and I can not figure out why IIS will not run 4.0 applications. I am running Windows 2003 R2, Sp2. IIS 6.0 I created a new ASP.NET Application in Visual Studio 2010, and published it to a site on my IIS. In IIS, I have selected it to run with 4.0, and my web.config also says to compile in 4.0 My First error was : Unrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive. After some research, I found that my IIS had no v4.0 Web Service Extension setup. I thought this was odd, but I manually added it. New error was : The current identity (NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE) does not have write access to

I have installed Windows 7 Professional and Visual Studio 2010 on a machine I was using VS2005 on with Windows XP. I am unable to publish to c:inetpubwwwroot. The files cannot be deleted in wwwroot or edited. I turned off read-only and am still unable to edit anything in the root even when opening something in notepad. When publishing a site every file in the directory throws the following in VS.
