JQuery :: Light Box And Server Events Remain On Screen?

i am using light box in one of my asp.net website On a linkbutton click, an application form opens in a lightbox.this form contains a dropdownlist.till now it was working fine.but now i have to change some coding.Whenever a value is selected from that dropdownlist,its selectedindexchanged is fired.At this moment my form with light box gets disapper.what i want is,it should remain on screen as it is when any of the server side event is fired.
I added a Input (Text) control in my web form and turned it into an HTML server control so its an instance of HtmlInputText class.
If I double click on the control It only adds a OnClick event handler method inside the script tags in the HTML doc of the web form but how to I get to handle its Serverchange event exactly? does VS.net 2008 has no ability to auto wire up the event to the control, do I have to manually wire up the event handler?
I have a custom control, that has takes some information from user and submit to the database. it is working fine in normal aspx pages. but when i display that custom user control in jQuery modal popup. The events does not fire or lets say the data is not submitted to the database.
Just I started learning MVC pattern, of course i am learning it from Microsoft's website.Just i want to gather quiz information from the experts. My understanding is (correct me then and there)
1 ) MVC does not support server side events, but supports client side events. If it supports client side events, I need html page with jQuery/Javascript (view), but most of the example I absorbed is to display the information(model) in view, I did not see any client side event handling happens in view.
2) Except ViewState and controlState, MVC supports Sessions, Application State management, Cache management.
3) When request goes to MVC engine, the routing module routes the request that is picked up by the controller. The controller in executes the appropriate action and returns the appropriate view.
I am displaying image on page load event. I have difrent sizes image i want to get screen.width and screen.height values by javascript on page load event and then using to get particular size's image on page load event in asp.net with c#.
If browser not support javascript then default size will display.
I am still new to Jquery and trying to sell my boss on it.Is there any good examples that show how I can say when the user mouses over an area of the screen( for a certian Item) it would popup the details of that item? am using vs 2010 / mvc 2 and would like to use Json to get the data for the popup. So it does not have to be loaded all at one time.
I have li list with jQuery sortable attached to it. but the receive function is never executed. When I drag list item 10 to the 2nd position the way i expect this code to execute is to execute the receive function. but it never gets executed. [Code...]
I'm currently building an MVC application and using a JQuery UI Datepicker http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/
to book events.
I would like to display all available eventdates in the Datepicker. Is there any way to rerender the datepicker to make only eventdates being selectable(clickable) or may be just highlight the eventdates. Any way to pass dates into the datepicker?
I have a button that is within an updatepanel control. The button's click event has a function defined for it through JQuery. Once the async postback completes the JQuery event fails to fire when the button is clicked subsequently. What do I need to do to correct this behavior and maintain the JQuery event attachment to the button's click event once it has been refreshed asynchronously?
I am trying to get JQuery events to work with partial views in ASP.NET MVC. However, after you load a partial view through Ajax, JQuery seems not able to fire events for any of the elements in the partial view. I suspect that this issue will also happen if you are using other frameworks or JavaScript libraries to load partial html code with Ajax.

Once the page loads for the first time, you can click on the "Click here to display a Javascript message" and you will get a Javascript alert message that says "button clicked". However, once you click on the "Click here to load partial view", clicking on the button that is supposed to bring the Javascript alert message doesn't have any effect. It seems that the 'click' event is not being fired anymore.
why this issue occurs with JQuery and how to fix? This issue also occurs with other JQuery plugins that use events.
I am trying to rotate an image using mousemove event and its working fine.But i need to add keyboard combination to achieve the rotation .Ctrl key + Mousedown rotate the image but its not working for below logic..
I have question regarding printer option page which pop up when i click on print button on crystalreportviewer and when i click okay on that pop up page it displays print preview of the report.
Is there any way to skip that pop up window(Printer Option) and just display (PDF)print preview screen instead?
(I am not exporting report to pdf, just want to display printview screen and when the user click on print button it will print out the page)

You can see that user control have a button that have a click event handler. i want this button to trigger on click. but when i click on this button i found server error "The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted."i can imagine what is going on viewstate is not valid for form for obivious reason......how can i fix this problem or update viewstate.
I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.
The below is the exact scenario, One form will be there and when user click on "Edit" hyper link other window will open to get more details. I have got an issue after updation in UpdatePanel. The issue is the jquery events are not working/firing after the updation in UpdatePanel. At first time, the jquery events work, but not after the updation in UpdatePanel. If I remove the UpdatePanel, the problem is solved. But I have to use the UpdatePanel.

Now I would like to have the controller function assigned to the events to retrieve the specific user selected by the manager: events: "/Scheduler/CalendarData/<current_user_name> Is there any way to retrieve the selected employee user name from the view (or rather pass it to the view from the controler) and then pass it onto the bound events function?
I have an ASP page which displays a text box when it loads. It takes an input number, send it to the server through post back, and then displays some record in a grid view. After a number is input into the box, the server fetches some data from a database and add records to the grid view. It also contains a link column, whose URL is set to "#", so that the page isn't redirected when it is clicked.
Now I want to bind a jquery "click" event to that link. How can I do that ? I have tried that to do myself but failed, because it is not available when the DOM is loaded (since it only contains rows when a number is input through the box), and is being modified through ASP.NET Ajax post back.
I have a masterpage setup, with a pageLoad in the topmost masterpage, which calls pageLoad2 for nested masterpages which calls pageLoad3 for content pages.
In my content page I have a jquery click event and in my nested masterpage I have a web user control.
Whenever I use the user control in the nested masterpage, it rebinds the click event in the content page (undoubtedly because the pageLoad3 is called again), but this makes the click event fire twice on a single click. The problem gets worse the higher up masterpages you go (eg. fires 3 times if user control from topmost masterpage is called).
how to make sure it only binds the jquery events once?
What I'm trying to achieve is a page with the jQuery date picker on screen full time, and a gridView that shows events FROM the date set using the datePicker. I've kind of got it working,Currently, the default date is set in the JS code, but I'd like to set it to the textbox control that updates when a new date is selected. I've added a default value to the text box and would like to use this to have better control over changing it later.Before the GridView updates, I need to click the button to cause a refresh. Ideally, I'd like the page to refresh once a new date has been selected.Here is my code so far:
