I am having the following piece of code that is not working:
<a href="#" onclick="Edit(@Interest);">edit</a>
where I have
@{string Interest=""}
I've been using asp.net for a number of years now but I am new to reporting services. I have created a report which uses 1 ID parameter. I want to pass the parameter through the URL instead of the user typing it into the text box. I have set the paramented value to hidden and tried to pass it in the url like below:
Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReport_test%2fReportValues>rs:Command=Render&ID=fred
However it doesnt recognise the ID paramenter in the url as I get an error message saying that @ContactID is missing.
i am passing the serverside control as parameter, but it throws OBJECT ERROR.
View 5 RepliesI have a server control that performs some logic. I'd love to provide a default implementation of this logic in the code of the control, but allow a developer to pass an alternate implementation of this logic in as a delegate, if they wish.
So...
<prefix:MyControl FooLogicMethod="MyUtilityClass.MyFooLogicMethod" runat="server"/>
If they don't specify this, I'll use my default method. If they do specify it, I'll use the method they passed in.
Can I do this as a delegate, or do I need to reflect it?
have two user controls on one aspx page. UC1 has a grid which contains a link button column which user clicks. Based on the value of clicked cell, I need to show some data into UC2.How do I pass data from UC1 to UC2? How do I invoke a function of UC2 from UC1?

But I want to pass the value which i stored in my "int ID" Â instead of dropdown selected, I am getting this error "Newline in constant"
function SetContextKey()
{
$find('<%=AutoCompleteExtender1.ClientID>%').set_contextKey($get("<%=ID.ClientID %>").value);
}
I have a class constructor which accepts a Listbox.

I need to be able to pass another control type and execute the exact same logic in one of the methods... Seems like a use for Generics... I'm not so sure about the syntax... The type of control that I will pass is a rad combo box which has many of the same properties of the listBox control. However, RadComboBox does not inherit from listBox or dropDown so I am unable to cast. When changing the signature of the constructor to As RadComboBox as well as the property and field the method works as expected. I am trying to avoid duplicating code here.
I want to pass to my control a value to one of its parameter of type DropDownList. Something like:
<uc1:MyControl Id="01" runat="server" OtherControl="ddl1" />
Where "ddl1" is a DropDownList defined in the same page my control resides. How to create this kind of property?
protected void btn_showReport_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
try {
ReportParameter Comp_Name = new ReportParameter();
Comp_Name.Name = "Comp_Name";
ReportViewer1.ProcessingMode = ProcessingMode.Remote;
ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new Uri("http://dell-pc/ReportServer");
ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportPath = "/Companies Report/Companies";
[CODE]..
the above code is in "reportpage.aspx" when I click on it the company report is shown according to the parameter "Comp_Name"
I want to show report in "reportpage.aspx" according to parameter name passed from another .aspx page, how to do that?
On my page I have four controls:
How to pass control's value to jQuery autocomplete
I have the need to display a date in this format: dd/mm/yyyy. This is actually being stored in an ASP.NET textbox and being used as a control parameter for a select on the GridView. When the query is run, though, the date format should change to 'd M y' (for Oracle). It is not working. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Right now I am pushing the "new" format to a invisible label and using the label as my control param:
$(document).ready(function() {
//datepicker for query, shown traditionally but holding an Oracle-needed format
$('[id$=txtBeginDate]').datepicker({ minDate: -7 , altFormat: 'd M y' });
//get alt format
var altFormat = $('[id$=txtBeginDate]').datepicker("option", "altFormat");
//set date to be altformat
$('[id$=lblActualDate]').datepicker("option", "altFormat", 'd M y');
});
I UPDATED the code with code behind. I'm doing something dynamic with the label contrtol.
I have the following jQuery code working as it is (passing the value of 'test") but what I want to do is to pass the value of the label control (lblNames). I'm using the label control to collect the uploaded file names. Is there a way?
jQuery:
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#btnUpload").click(function () {
$("#Notes", top.document).val('test'); [code].....
I have the following jQuery event that gets fired every time an anchor is clicked. How can I pass a asp.net control (lets say a panel called "pnl_info") as one of the parameters, in addition to the "target" parameter i'm already passing?
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$("a").click(function(event) {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "Default.aspx/Click",
data: "{target:'" + event.target + "'}",
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
dataType: "json",
error: function(xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) {
alert(xhr.responseText);
$("#myContent").html(xhr.statusText);
//alert(xhr.responseText);
},
success: function(msg) {
alert(msg.d);
}
});
return false;
})
})
</script>

I am using the below example code and have a problem where I can't pass the Request.RawUrl value into an object that extends the Control object (class Test below).When I use the line:
<Test1:Test runat="server" ID="testControl" Target="<%# Request.RawUrl %>"></Test1:Test>
I find that the Target property is never called.If I use this line instead:
<Test1:Test runat="server" ID="testControl" Target="<%# Request.RawUrl %> test"></Test1:Test>
the string value "<%# Request.RawUrl %> test" is passed to the Target property.f I use this line as explained in many posts online:
<Test1:Test runat="server" ID="testControl" Target="<%= Request.RawUrl %>"></Test1:Test>
the string value "<%= Request.RawUrl %>" is passed to the Target property.I need to get the value of Request.RawUrl passed to the Target Property of my Test control object. Does anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong?Control:
namespace Testing

public class Test : Control

I have a page that deploys a user control to display an article. The page will show a different article depending on the ID parameter fed in via querystring, and there are many thousands of articles in our db. Here is the problem: I need to cache the user control to improve performance. But editors constantly need to go in and make changes/corrections, which they want to appear instantly on the site. Is it possible to clear the cache for a specific article only once it has been edited? ie for the request article.aspx?id=123? If so how would I do this? Otherwise, if the cache is cleared for all our content every time a single piece of content is edited, it will defeat the object of caching in the first place. I have tried using a cache key as recommended here: [URL] However, this apporach suffers from the drawback mentioned above. have also seen that you can set caching up to be cleared by changes to the db. However, the particular table concerned holds content for a number of other sites and would also have the same disadvantage.
View 5 RepliesI have a page with some datasources in it. I am doing reenginering of the page itself and would like to split some parts of the page in several user controls.
In my code I have an ObjectDataSource object with the following params
[code]....
This piece of code automatically bind the hidden field "txtAlbumId" to the datasource. In my revision this datasource should be moved to a user control.
Basically I want to call a user control from a master page. However, I need to pass an object (a List of objects to be more specific), to the user control. I'm generating the list of objects in the Page_Load of the master page. Here's the line in my master page that calls the user control.
<cu:Eventlisting1 runat="server" id="eventListing1"></cu:Eventlisting1>
This user control has a parameter called CalendarItems that accepts the list of items. However, if I try to set this inside of the Page_Load method, my control executes before the Page_Load and throws an exception saying CalendarItems is null. Is there any way around this?
EDIT: I have a drop down list on this page that determines what the list of CalendarItems is so when I populate the CalendarItems list I need to be able to read the selected value from the drop down list.
