We have a custom set of custom control tags, eg:<ourTag:OurControl runat="server" />Throughout our project we have discovered Visual Studio's marvelous(sarcasm) helper which automatically pastes an ID with the tags name followed by a counter number. I am now trying to remove them globally.

View 1 Repliesdo have a very particular question and if you want to answer it go straight to the end. But I do welcome comments and advices hence the lengthy post. we deal with a lot of forms and some of these forms are quite lengthy and have many fields. We also have a requirement - in addition to top level fields - to be able to have variable number of repating rows - as we call them. For example, let's think of a customer which has name, surname and age while it can have zero or many addresses (say 0 to 10) so the user must be able to add or remove contacts from the form while filling it in.
View 4 RepliesI'm using Josh Bush's MaskedInput plugin for jQuery in an ASP.NET 3.5 Webform app. How to get rid from the literals in the code-behind file after form submit? E.g: a phone input with the mask $("#txtPhone").mask("(99)9999-9999");
In the code-behind:
string customerPhone = txtPhone.Text
Which returns me: (12)3456-7890
But this is what I want: 1234567890
In the plugins changelog page it says I can use mask() method with no arguments to archieve this. But how to do it from the code-behind?!
EDIT
I want to send to the server the unmasked value. How to do that?
I have FileUpload Control; I need to remove the file content from the control once the operation is done. I am trying to dispose the Filecontrol object but no luck.
FileUpload1.FileContent.Dispose();
I'm building a shopping cart page that could potentially contain dozens of separate items. Each item has a collapsible panel that contains several form elements that can be used to customize it. Most of the cart is wrapped in an UpdatePanel so that I can avoid a full postback when the user makes changes. When there are many items in the cart, there are of course many many postback elements, all of which are included in the raw form post, even though each post is really only triggered by the change of a single element

Is there a way to add/delete/update the default classes (for instance AspNet-Menu-WithChildren,AspNet-Menu-NonLink ) of the html generated by the asp.net menu or treeview control? I am using CSSAdapters so the menu control renders in a list format instead of table format.
View 1 RepliesI've created a simple form with a link button. In my page load I set default button to that linkbutton as this.Form.DefaultButton = this.btnSearch.UniqueID; it is working fine in IE but not in Firefox.
View 2 Repliesi would like to know how i can change the default form button on client side.
View 5 RepliesI have two strange problems when I use routing in a web form application. Environment: IIS 7.5; .NET 4.0 and Windows 7 64 bit.
default document does not work if I use (http://www.)mydomain.com. The exception message is "The controller for path '/' was not found or does not implement IController". However, if I debug in VS 2010 (http://localhost:8080), this problem has never come out. Here mydomain.com and http://localhost:8080 hit the same code in the same folder of the same computer. I trapped the value of request.path. When local host is used, the value is "default.aspx" while "/" if mydomain.com is accessed. I can use one line (if "/" then redirect to default.aspx) to "fix" the problem but I believe it should have a better way. when I detect request.path, I got such a VERY strange request which I have never seen before: 192.168.1.11/StableWSDiscoveryEndpoint/schemas-xmlsoap-org_ws_2005_04_discovery! I have no idea where it is from. I do not use any web service in my code. The request is posted to the server, and the user agent is WSDAPI. I tried to debug the code from a different browsers other than IE. It looks like I do not get such a request. Edit: I just found the 192.168.1.11/StableWSDiscoveryEndpoint/schemas-xmlsoap-org_ws_2005_04_discovery request is sent from the domain control.
am stuck in a very simple problem but couldn't find a way to get rid of it.May be I clicked somewhere in my web application that is now a cause of underline every label, cell of table or whatever typing in it.how to remove default underline,
View 5 RepliesI'm trying to set the default button to my master page for logging in.
Basically I've got a master page, with a LoginView in it, with a Login control in it, With a button in it... When you press "Enter" I want it to use that as the default button.
(structure in sudo-code if it helps)
BODY
Form ID=Form1
LoginView ID=MasterLoginView
AnonymousTemplate
Login ID=MainLogin
LayoutTemplate
Button ID=LoginButton
I know I've got to use .FindControl("") but as much as I mess with it I can't seem to get it to hook to the button.
I've created a simple form with a link button. In my page load I set default button to that linkbutton as this.Form.
DefaultButton = this.btnSearch.UniqueID;
it is working fine in IE but not in Firefox.
How is the color and background set for a Default.aspx form? My web looks 'dull' and needs color and stuff.
View 2 RepliesMany WebSites where we asked in textbox to enter text for search, such as above you see "Search Entire Site" in this Microsoft ASP.net website page. Once we click inside the textbox the default message vanishes. So tell me how can i do this?
View 4 RepliesI have a few form inputs on my page, each with separate buttons to sumbit them. I need to set the master form's default button client-side when clicking the relevant textbox. I have fond the following code:
MyTextBox.Attributes.Add("onclick", "document.forms[0].onkeypress = " & "new Function(""return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, '" & MySubmitButton.UniqueID + "');"");")
When clicking on the textbox, I get "event is not defined" in firefox.
I've created a simple sample site to demonstrate the issue. In it, I have a Default.aspx Page that has a button on it:
<asp:Content ID="BodyContent" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent">
<p><asp:Button OnClick="ButtonClick" Text="Button" runat="server" />
</p>
<asp:Label ID="output" runat="server" />
</asp:Content>
The code behind just sets the label text on the button click:
protected void ButtonClick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
output.Text = "Button Click!!";
}
I then have an IHttpModule that gets called for every request:
[code].....
And now it's broken again! So to make a long story short, just by accessing the Form collection on the request in the IHttpModule, I somehow screw up the PostBack, and the event never gets fired.
