View 5 RepliesHow can I change the default session time in an ASP.NET website to something user defined - perhaps 1 hr?I assume the default session time is 20 mins..
View 3 RepliesI'm using VS2010 and I'm trying to follow along with these videos:
[URL] and the guy in the video is using Visual Web Developer Express and when he creates a new website it's all nice and simple with a bare bones Default webpage and that's cool. Well, me in my Visual Studio 2010 when I create a new project I get this elaborate "My ASP.NET Application" page with an About page and a Login page and CSS and Jquery and it's just too, too much. Now, of course I could just create an empty ASP.NET application, but that goes too far the other way; I have to start from scratch and add the default page myself and try to reproduce exactly what the code in the video looks like and I can't really see the screen that well. Is there any way I could change my default template to what the gentleman in the video uses?
Our business case requires that a Start Time and End Time must be defined for each Organization involved in the business model. For example; some organizations have their working hours from 8:00AM to 5:00PM and others from 9:00 to 6:00PM. While creating a new Event on our calendar these should be queried from the database (StartTime and EndTime) and setting these as default. My questions are:
1) How should I save these times since DateTime requires a Date in front of it and there's no Time column format on SQL Server (Varchar? Number?). If using one of these types how to I concatenate these to a DateTime variable?
2) If the column should be DateTime, how do I concatenate it to replace the column's Date with Today's date and replace the Time with the time specified for that? Let me be more clear:
Default values saved in the database: StartTime = "2010-01-01 8:00AM" EndTime = "2010-01-01 5:00PM" In my code after querying, my local variables would be populated and replaced by: OrgStartHour = "2010-03-26 8:00AM" and OrgEndHour = "2010-03-26 5:00PM"
[Code]....
The code above works but I have no idea on how to replace/concatenate the "2010-01-01" with today's date while keeping the "8:00 AM" on it. :)

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to set the default button to my master page for logging in.
Basically I've got a master page, with a LoginView in it, with a Login control in it, With a button in it... When you press "Enter" I want it to use that as the default button.
(structure in sudo-code if it helps)
BODY
Form ID=Form1
LoginView ID=MasterLoginView
AnonymousTemplate
Login ID=MainLogin
LayoutTemplate
Button ID=LoginButton
I know I've got to use .FindControl("") but as much as I mess with it I can't seem to get it to hook to the button.
I've created a simple form with a link button. In my page load I set default button to that linkbutton as this.Form.
DefaultButton = this.btnSearch.UniqueID;
it is working fine in IE but not in Firefox.
How is the color and background set for a Default.aspx form? My web looks 'dull' and needs color and stuff.
View 2 RepliesI'll use a default Theme in the web.config
<pages styleSheetTheme="deftheme">
But on a admin directory, i use a different theme. So i change the aspx file header:
theme="themeAdmin"
But right now he uses both themes. I would like to change it so in the admin directory he should use 1 theme and not the default one. How can i change that ?
of course by deleting it from the web.config and adding it to all other aspx files. But i want to use it in the web.config for the deftheme items.
I created a new ASP.NET web site project. The project starts with a number of default features and one of them is a menu. The menu has a blue/slate color to it.I want to change the color but can't find where it's defined. I checked the Site.css that is created and cannot find the value that is coloring it.

View 9 Replieshow to change the default event source for any particular application. So for example, forms authentication writes certain events by default like if authorization or authentication fails. The source for those on my machine is ASP.NET 2.0... I'd like to change the source to the application name. Now, I can do this on events I write code for myself, but I'd like all events that the application records to have the same source name. The reason I want to do this is so that I can create a seperate event file under the event viewer and filter in only events from that particular application. Is this possible?

MyTextBox.Attributes.Add("onclick", "document.forms[0].onkeypress = " & "new Function(""return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, '" & MySubmitButton.UniqueID + "');"");")

View 1 RepliesI like to change the mouse as hourglass when the user click on the "search" button until the data is loaded in a datagrid. Then change the cursor back to default. I found many posts to change the cursor to hourglass but found nothing to change it back again to default after firing the button code. So I tried the following in the page_load() event,
btnFind.Attributes.Add("onclick",
"document.body.style.cursor = 'wait';");
dgResults.Attributes.Add("OnDataBinding",
"document.body.style.cursor = default;");
It works fine, the mouse changes to hourglass when i click the button and then once the datagrid is loaded it is changing it back to pointer but when i move the cursor it is again changing back to hourglass. it looks like it is working but not.
How can I chage the defaultmode of a asp:formview ? I tried this below one but didn't work;

Using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010, I have created a SQL database, with the goal being to create a Lead Management system for my company. I have created two columns: 1 is named InitialCall, and the other is named FollowUp. The InitialCall column has a datatype of "datetime", and currently, the default value setting is (getdate()). The FollowUp column is set to varchar(max), because I want to allow a sales rep to add whatever information they want to.
What I would like to do is change the default value setting in InitialCall from (getdate()), so that it will update that field whenever a sales rep upates the FollowUp field. In essence, this would create a time stamp so that I would know the date and time that the sales rep followed up with a particular lead. What would I enter the default value as?
It seems that VS always displays more than 20 rows of ListView in its designer. If a page has quite a few of ListViews, it is a bit hassle to move around. Is there any way to reduce the number of displayed rows?
