i have view which display product list..this is how html looks like

This page will list 16 product items,means 4 by 4.MY question is,i need to set class value for in 1st,5th,9th and 13th ul tag.
smthing like this

how can do this with foreach...

I have a fck editor in which the user enters some text. And in the code i want to strip the class,id attributes of the text posted. I know this can be done through regular expressions And i have written some code to do so but unfortunately it's not working.

Code to read the span having the particular class name and assign to match collection.

I need to get the span having the class name ="active".That is i need the result

It will be fine if i get the text in the a tag that is with in the span having the class name "active".

I'm rendering a view for the text/plain part of an e-mail. But in some cases, the whitespace is removed between non-output server tags, and I can't figure out why. Can someone explain why the following is missing the line breaks before the final line of output?

But this works - whitespace is preserved between output tags:

This is on MVC 2. It may have been on MVC 1 (or even in Web Forms), but I didn't notice it until today when I went to add a new line to the e-mail, so not sure of the source. Does ASP.NET or MVC have some optimization to try not to output whitespace between server tags?

When I am creating Strongly Typed View I get lots of Classes in View Data Drop down. Classes like Automapper, ninject, Interface..., latebound... Due this its very hard to find my project classes. Is there any way to restrict dropdown to only display my project classes?

I mainly do C# ASP.NET projects in VS2010. Once you've put masterpages and other things in place, I find the design view pretty much goes grey and elements can't be selected. This isn't so bad except that sometimes you need to access the little 'smart tags' at the top right of controls to do things.
In particular I'm trying to do this with some telerik controls, though the issue isn't confined to them.
Anyone have a handy tip to access this functionality (or miraculously make design view work!) ?
PS. I read in a few places that Shift-Alt-F10 may help. I tried putting my cursor in the control's tag and using it, no luck. Also I clicked the little rectangle below design view to select the control and tried it again- no luck.

I'm currently using ASP.NET MVC 2 and the spark view engine. The main master page (application.spark) contains all of the CSS link tags that need to be present for all pages (global stuff). However, I have some content pages that have page specific CSS tags and currently I'm just sticking the link tag in the body as something like:
<content name="MainContent">
<!-- page specific csss -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/Content/css/page_specific.css" />
My problem is that when the page renders, this tag ends up in the which is not where it needs to be. Is there a solution for this?
I had was to check the controller in the Application.spark page and write out which page specific css file is required for that particular controller, however, that solution doesn't seem to scale well and I would imagine there is some way of creating the link in the child page and having it render where it's supposed to by the browser.

I'm trying to develope a collapsible panel control with designer.
I have the following two classes:

In fact, the designer class is a copy of a sample class in MSDN and I only tried to customize it to work for me. I'm not sure if all methods are necessary or not.
I have the following two questions:
1- When I use this contrl in design mode, I can add or delete controls to it, in the html view, tags are not updated. so when I close the page and open it again, all changes are lost.
2- I have added this control to the same asp.net project that is using this control. Isn't there any way to have this controil in tool box?

i have created a aspx page with the script manager, update panels and so on. Now, when i use some jquery functions which are included inside the head tags, when the page is run, i find the script tags generated inside the body instead of the head tag. i'm using visual studio 2005 only.

I am building a forum and I want to use forum-style tags to let the users format their posts in a limited fashion.Currently I am using Regex to do this.As per this question:How to use C# regular expressions to emulate forum tags. The problem with this,is that the regex does not distinguish between nested tags.Here is a sample of how I implemented this method:

Is there a way to apply your own CSS tags to <li> tags when using ASP .NET 4.0 menu control? For example, say I have an external style sheet that has tags "class1", "class2", "class3", and etc. I want to apply "class1" to the first menu item. Then if menu item is selected, I want to apply "class2" and if it's not selected, "class3". I played with various 'Static' styles, but just can't get it work. I finally gave up and created my own menu control that extends ASP .NET menu control and provides my own custom rendering. This works, but I'm wondering if there is a way to get it work with built-in menu control.

To demonstrate that I could even use a Class attribute on an option elem I tried adding class attributes to options of a select elem in a static page and that works fine. I noticed that not many online resouces documented this so I figured I would explicitly set the record.
here is the jquery code attempting to add a class to the selected option

New information, I found the reason nothing occured was a simple mistake in the value being passed in for compLev. However, now it runs through the code for the correct case and does nothing to the color of the item.

I have an installer class which I use to do some processing on the application after it is initially installed.
In the installer I have a custom dialog which requests a username and password. This is accessed in my installer class with Me.Context.Parameters("username")
After setting it as CustomActionData /username="[TXTUSERNAME]"
This is all fine. The first dialog of a Web Setup Project gets the user to select an IIS website from a dropdownlist and set a VirtualDirectory if required. I need to get the seleted Hostname but so far I have failed to find a reference to it in any documentation. I have tried things like:

Me.Context.Parameters("TARGETSITE")

I've been trying to find an easy way of highlighting the current selected menu item of an asp.net menu (so the user knows which page they are on), but no matter what I have tried I can't get it to work. In my markup I have:

I'm working on a MVC3 web application. I want a list of categories shown when editing a blo from whe applications managements system. In my viewmodel i've got the following property defined for a list of selectlistitems for categories.

When i set a breakpoint just before the view is being returned, i see that the selectlist is filled as i expected. So at this point everything seems to be okay. The viewmodel is filled entirely correct.
Then in my view (i'm using Razor) i've got the following two rules which are supposed to render the selectlist for me.
@Html.LabelFor(m => m.Categories) @Html.DropDownListFor(model=>model.Categories, Model.Categories, Model.CategoryId)
@Html.ValidationMessageFor(m => m.Categories)
When I run the code and open the view to edit my blog, I can see all the correct data. Also the selectlist is rendered correctly, but the item i want to be selected lost it's selection. How can this be? Until the point the viewmodel is being returned with the view everything is okay. But when i view the webpage in the browser, the selectlist is there only with out the correct selection. What am I missing here? Or doing wrong?

Hi I have created the following controller i want to add view that should have the data access class UserMagnament.Controller.menuitems but when i add view by right clicking on view folder,it is not showing "UserMagnament.Controller.menuitems" in add data class
No controller is shown such as homecontoller, accounts controller, UMController(My Controller) etc i have converted my solution from mvc 1 to mvc2. i checked the web.config. it seems ok for MVC2

There is a SearchPage which has a properties ErrorMessage, SuccessMessage etc. This is basically a MVP pattern so for each page(view) there is IView that contains definitions for all the properties
I am using decoratoe pattern to set these peoperties dependingon the message type. There is another Interface IBaseMessage which has a method DisplayMessage() and a class BaseMessage which implements the interface. This class has a definition of the view

I just struck upon a prime opportunity to further exhibit my MVC ignorance, by way of the following: How can one make use of a custom view model class that has parameters in the constructor? For example, a class that could intitialize various collections/properties based on an IPrincipal object passed in. I've come across several allusions to this scenario, involving a class inheriting DefaultModelBinder which overrides the CreateModel method, but have yet to find an example.

I'm trying to have all my views inherit from a custom class so that I can add certain behaviour and values to all pages, but I'm having some issues. I tried subclassing System.Web.Mvc.WebViewPage but I'm forced to implement an Execute procedure that I don't know what it should do. Also, if I try to access the Context variable, I get a null reference (really weird). This leads me to think that I may have the wrong base class.

I'n trying to setup a view template dynamically using a foreach loop. The view template is as follows:

The partial seems to render the labels correctly, displying the appropriate name for the fiields that I have annotated. However the value of the fields is always set to the class property name itself rather than the value of the given record itself.Now I'm pretty sure my problem is something stupid, but I can't see what I am missing. I have a simple controller that sends a model/data to a View:

The View displays the data in a HTML Table:

This View displays the data correctly and provides a RadioButton for each row. When I select one of the RadioButtons the previous selection is removed as expected.
For now I am using an ActionLink to enter another Controller action. I have tried many ways without success to retrieve the selected RadioButton's value in this controller action.

I have also tried defining the Controller action with a parameter matching the model without success.
