MVC :: Create A View Which Should Show The Build Documents And A Dropdown?
Dec 8, 2010
I have a document which may have many revisions. I need to create a view which should show the build documents and a dropdown which shows different revisions of the build document. For eg. I have a document Doc1 which have 4 revisions. So the view should show the Doc1 and a dropdown which have options 1 to 4. The will contain a table of document name and the dropdowns. How can I create the dropdown dynamically?
I've got a page with a repeater and a bunch of documents that should be hidden to start and then shown with a plus sign next to each.My question is - do I have to assign unique ID to each document DIV to make it be able to toggle hidden and shown?
I have an application with several web pages. I am developing securities for those web pages.
Thus, I would like to create a dropdownlist that reflects the various aspx pages, or files inside my application. I would prefer that it reflected the aspx pages only and avoid the .cs files and config files and etc. I'm not even sure that this is possible. Is it? If so how? if I can't filter like that I would still take it.
I want to display the selected value from gridview in a dropdownlist. Here I am not getting the Dropdown from Database as it contains two values. After getting the data user can modify the DDL and change the selection. The data type where the values are saved is declared as Bit.
Till here it works fine how do I fill the dropdown from database.Eg Active text is coming from Database,so DDL should show Active along with Inactive value.
I was trying to install CMS for my ASP.NET (Open source Umbraco). After the installation process, when I try to run the website, I get this error: Could not create type 'umbraco.webservices.documents.documentService'. E:UsersSarinDocumentsVisual Studio 2010WebSitesWebSite20umbracowebservicesapiDocumentService.asmx
Here's the line from default.aspx which is showing this error.
I have a partial view that has only a dropdown, i have called this partial view from a view. I can able to pass the model to this partial view and it renders successfully. However when some user selects a particular text from the dropdown, the corresponding value should be passed to view and it should be displayed in the label in view.
I would like to make the build information for the running web application but I dont know where I set or configure this nor do I know how to retrieve this information.
In a project you may set the build information in the file AssemblyInfo.cs under the projects Properties folder. Here is a snippet of the AssemblyInfo.cs file:
[Code]....
But there is no such file for an web application project, so I have to get this information from one of the compiled DLLs that is in the same assembly as my web application then? Or how is this done?
The reason I want this information is because my customer would like to have a webpage within the web application where he could see the current version. This is also nice to have when testing and debugging etc.
i can query to get my parent list and pass that into the partial view. Im running into problems when i try and make a recurisve call to the view. i cant figure out how to pass the second group back in.
I have a requirement to build a "Search" form for a travel company. This search form will be used for searching different travel components such as Flights, Hotels, Cars etc. Most of the fields in the form are common (such as travel dates, origin and destination cities etc) for all components but will also contain some component specific fields (such as Business/First/Economy Class & Nonstop Flight Indicators for Flight Search).Even though most of the fields are common, they need to be displayed with component-specific labels.for example:"travel dates" would say "check-in & check-out dates" on Hotel search form where as they would say "departure & return dates" on Flight search form. What is the best approach to design a search form which would display field with component-specific labels and also provides a way to map/associate fields to components (common fields to all component types and component-specific fields to corresponding component)? Is there something similar to Data Annotations for achieving this behavior?
I am just getting started with Silverlight and have recently added a Silverlight project to an established solution. In this particular scenario my solution included an existing ASP.NET web site which Visual Studio kindly offered to integrated my Silverlight application into, which I accepted.
So everything is fine and all, and the Silverlight XAP is being copied to the web site's ClientBin directory when i was buiding solution through visual studio, But
I want same thing through using nant script when i am used nant script that time all project in the solution are build but recenty added silverlight website do not create XAP's in ClientBin dierctory.
I've created a perfect matrix report using the nifty wizard and it's exactly what the client wants, but they would also like to see the detail for each row.I'm able to create subreports and pass parameters and all that jazz, but I'm having a hard time setting up a subreport for this matrix.
I have 2 dropdown i.e. ddlStatusType and ddlPriority. In ddlStatusType dropdown I have 3 valus i.e. "Yes", "No" and "Not Sure".I want that if user select "Yes" then ddlPriority dropdown should hide otherwis ddlPriority dropdown should show.I want to it on client side, let me know how can I do this
I have a textbox in a view .when user enters a code in textbox and press a button,in callback , I want to show a list below that which shows some information searched by that code in a table.
I think I should use partial view but I don't know how?
I want to write a class using c# and compile it and user this dll in many projects.
I know how to build a website in Visual Studio and publish it but Visual Studio mixes the classes and rename them to a few strang and unfamiliar names which doesn't mean anything. So my purpose is writting a class with some functions, compling them and use them in other projects.
Can i create a partial view and a controller that will feed data to the view, and if i render that partial in a Master page, the Data will show on whatever URL i am?
Or is there another way of showing content from database on every page(view)?
I'd like to add build configuration dependant web config files to my empty ASP.NET 4 Web site project. How can I do that? According to this blog entry, VS 2010 is supposed to provide a context menu entry on the original web.config file, Add Config Transform, allowing to add build configuration dependant web.config files to the project. But this context menu entry doesn't exist. What did I do wrong?
Steps to reproduce:
Create an empty ASP.NET 4 Web site project on localhost (IIS)
I'm rather liking this MVC3 and Razor way of working and I'm learning the ropes. I was wondering, can I create a partial view and pull it into another view in the following scenario:I have a "Person" model and an "Address" model. The Person contains name, phone number etc and each person has an address. I've created my Person "Create" view and that works fine but I now want to pull in my "Address" partial view to it.
