SQL Server :: Checkboxlist Listitem Checked According To DB?
Mar 22, 2011
i want to show checkboxlist listitem checked according to option value saved in DB like this:
,2,
2
1,,3
1,2,3
//accessing value
protected void getreportType()
{
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("SELECT * from reporttype", con);
con.Open();
CheckBoxList1.DataSource = cmd.ExecuteReader();
CheckBoxList1.DataBind();
con.Close();
//getting previous checked items
SqlCommand cmdx = new SqlCommand("SELECT report_type from projects where serial_no='" + Convert.ToInt32(Request.QueryString["id"].ToString()) + "'", con);......
but it is only shows checked item of column which have single value without comma means like "2" otherwise not shows any selected listitem from any colums
Is it possible to change the position of the ListItem box on a CheckBoxList? I need to have something like:
[Code]....
I'm creating the ListItems dinamically with data coming from a DB and assigning one value ListItem.Name and another to the ListItem.Value. Probably each entry on the CheckBoxList will need to be something like
---------------------------------------------------------------- | label | ListItem with only Value and no Name | ----------------------------------------------------------------
I'm having a bit of trouble with my CheckBoxList control in ASP.NET - it seems to not store the values that I have checked (?)This is the test-code I have at the moment:
for (int i = 0; i < cbMemberTypes.Items.Count; i++) { if (cbMemberTypes.Items[i].Selected) { // do stuff } }
I have tried to output the amount of checked items, but it is always returning 0. I'm rather lost here, because in my other usercontrol, it works perfectly!
I have a CheckBoxList in my page, with the DataTextField and DataValueField attributes set, is there an attribute that I can use to specify a property that indicates if it should be checked?
I'm hoping to just set the datasource, and not have to have any code behind to set the checked property. Possible?
I have a situation where I need to databind a string array to a CheckBoxList. The decision if each item should be checked, or not, needs to be done by using a different string array. Here's a code sample:
string[] supportedTransports = ... ;// "sms,tcp,http,direct" string[] transports = ... ; // subset of the above, i.e. "sms,http" // bind supportedTransports to the CheckBoxList TransportsCheckBoxList.DataSource = supportedTransports; TransportsCheckBoxList.DataBind();
This binds nicely, but each item is unchecked. I need to query transports, somehow, to determine the checked status. I am wondering if there is an easy way to do this with CheckBoxList or if I have to create some kind of adapter and bind to that?
i m using checkedlistbox controle. i bind database single column to this controle and i want to check cheked property or indices is checked or not so what i do now?
I had few checkbox in a checkboxlist ,On selecting the checkbox I need to create a XML file with the selected checkbox values. How to create the xml file??
I'm working on the admin tool and am using DetailsView to edit the records (.net 2.0). In the screenshot below, the left is the GridView, and the right is the DetailsView. When a user clicks "Select" in the GridView, I am trying to display the assigned Sectors stored in the database via a checkboxlist (activities can have multiple sectors). This way, the Admin user could just uncheck/check what sectors they want to change. Unfortunately, I can only get the first sector that's stored database to show up.
Is it possible for the Checkboxlist control to allow for more than one box to be checked at the same time? If so, do I need to create a custom funcion (via looping) in order to populate the checkboxlist accordingly? I've ran into 3 articles so far that imply that, but can't get the For Each to work for my situation:
I'm working with a simple UserControl someone at my company created. It's basically just a DropDownList with a RequiredFieldValidator and some added properties (such as "Required", which controls the CSS styling of the DropDownList and whether the RequiredFieldValidator is Enabled or not).
Here is an example of the UserControl usage where a SqlDataSource is used to populate the ListItemCollection. I'm trying to specify an intial ListItem below (and would like the ability to add multilple ListItems if necessary) but can't seem to get this to work...
[Code]....
My code-behind looks as follows:
[Code]....
I've found several posts related to this but cannot seem to get the declarative ListItem to be added to the DropDownList.
I understand that using a WebControl is another option, but I'd like to learn how to get this method to work if possible.
I need to create a server control which contains a checkboxlist with a scrolling div using asp.net server control.And also I need to display the checked items in any control by clicking on a button. the code needed in the asp.net server control page in C#.....
I need to charge my checkboxlist1 from database, eg load fruits and vegetables. When selecting fruits, new filter based on the previous selection in my checkboxlist2. for specific search.
I have a treeview in my .aspx: <asp:TreeView ID="tvDocCatAndType" runat="server" /> Not much else going on in the page -- two <asp:LinkButtons> and one <asp:Label>; the page is a child of a master page, so these controls are within a <asp:Content> control. I populate the treeview in code -- just 3 node levels, including the root node. All nodes have checkboxes, and I initialize all node.Checked to true. I have some Javascript to do the usual check/uncheck up and down the tree as parent and child node checkboxes are toggled.
No matter how many checkboxes I clear in the UI, on postback every single node has node.Checked = true regardless of the state of the checkbox in the UI. This is not the first time I've used a treeview, but I've never had this problem before. I created this page by light adaptation of an earlier project that works fine.
I have an html checkbox that controls a list of checkboxes. I want this checkbox to display in a sorta "null" state where it is neither true nor false. <HeaderTemplate> <div style="width:90px"> Toggle: <input id="chkAll" onclick="javascript:SelectAllCheckboxes(this);" runat="server" type="checkbox" /> </div> </HeaderTemplate>
I have a requirement to create our own MultiValueControls like CheckBoxList, RadioButtonList, DropDownList. I need a headstart, the usercontrols should have all the Even Handler implementation, setters and getters. Also,i will have a table which has the control properties(width, height, cssclass, etc) stored for that control. HOw to dynamically set the properties from the database to the usercontrol. This is required, because the requirement is for the Dynamic Form creation, I store all these ascx controls in the database and all the properties of the usercontrols in another table and map them dynamically.
The value placed in my table ends up being either "True" or "False".
So when I try to query the table based on that value with a stored procedure it doesn't work since its looking for a 1 or a 0.
I think the .ToString() is part of the problem but i don't know the syntax to have the value from the CheckBox.Checked to be written as 1s or 0s instead of true or false.
