Security :: Win Authentication Working Fine On Chrome / Mozilla But Not On IE?
Jun 29, 2010
I have created a we app. using win authentication. When type the server ip addres in chrome I get the login window and it works just fine with my organizations credentials, however when doing the same using Internet Explorer I have to login with the server credentials as my account is not valid.
At page level I have set EnableEventValidation="false" and at Page_load below code is written:
Code: grdMaster.Attributes.Add("OnClick", String.Format("{1};this.disabled = true;document.getElementById('lblProgress').innerHTML='Generating...It will take approx 30 Mins.'; {0};", ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(grdMaster, ""), "")); Above coding is fine in IE but it does not work in Mozilla. What could be the reason?and what is the solution on this?
After the implementation of ajax drag and drop, we have observed that which is working fine in IE and Firefox and not in chrome and safari, In Google chrome and Safari when we try to drag a module, the page getting scrolling to the top of the page.
I got the login to work fine- go to [URL]if you want to give it a try. Here is the thing. The profile functionality doesn't work. It draws from the same set of files, it used the same connection string as the users, it work on my local machine, but blows up on GoDaddy because it cannot find the file, and when it tries to create it. The file it uses for the profile, aspnet_Profiles, is on there along with the rest of the membership files. The connection string is not defined individually. Why is it finding the user files, but not the profile file.
I have a web application developed using VB .Net 2003, and is running ASP Net 1.1.
The application is running fine on all browser, except for the login/authentication control that doesn't work properly on Chrome.
We have different types of users using the website, and each user type has different menu items displayed for.
The problem is, if a user logs on with let's say Admin account, and logs off and later logs on again using student account, the user still gets the Admin menu, and of course vice versa.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or there is something I'm missing here.
On more thing, if the timeout period reached, and the session was timed out , and the user (regardless of the type) tries to log on again, he is successful on all browser except on Chrome again!, where it keeps telling the session was timed out, and never logs on again until clearing the cookies.
I am having an issue with images not showing in Chrome or FireFox. In chrome i get this message in the Console "Not allowed to load local resource.". The images appear fine and correct in IE11 & MS Edge. I'm assuming this is some king of security problem I need to address, but am not at all sure what.
I have textbox in my page that I put this attribute for it TextMode="MultiLine"..here user can change width and hight of textbox with mouse..I couldn't find any attribute for textbox that din't allow users to change width and hight of textbox.
I've defined node styles for my TreeView instance in markup (using <LevelStyles> for example). Everything renders correctly in IE7/8 but, when rendering in Chrome, Safari or FireFox, the styles are not being applied. From looking at the source code for the page, I can see that the various runtime css classes are being injected into the top of the page, but the class attributes on the <a> tags (within the generated TreeView HTML) are empty (class=""). In IE, the class attributes contain references to the classes that were injected into the page.
Can anyone explain why this is happening? I can see no logical explanation for this, and it's a big issue - My client primarily uses Safari, as they're Mac based.
I have VS 2008 installed and have IE8 browser as well as google chrome browser. However wheneever i try to run a .aspx page in solution explorer of VS with the browse with.. options, the page runs fine with chrome browser but not with IE8.The IE browser shows the error "Ineternet explorer cannot display the page".I have set the IE as the default browser in the browse with ... option of the VS 2008.

Here I am using forms authentication and I have used an access database. I have put the db in App_Data folder and declared the connectionstring in web.config. The problem I am facing is that when I request any page without logging in the browser displays the requested page. At the bottom of the page there is a script error when I check the details it says Sys is not defined. Has this something to do with this issue??
In web.config file I have added the following lines in the <system.web></system.web> section.
On login button click after comparing userid & password I am using the foll stmts:-
If code = 0 Then ' code 0 means match for userid and pwd FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(txtuserid.Text, False) Else Response.Redirect("~/Default.aspx") End If
I've found this article on enabling windows authentication within an intranet ASP.NET application. I did exactly what the article says, and when I go to the page on the server all it does is prompt me for a username and password, which I would assume means that it is seeing me as an anonymous user and not a windows user (which is not true).
In my application on the IIS i have the "Integrated Windows Authentication" box checked and this is what I have for my web.config file:
[Code]....
I've also tried this before and got the same results:
[Code]....
I have no idea what I need to do to get this to authenticate correctly. I've been banging my head off a wall for the past 2 days on this issue.
I have a basic intranet website for my company but there is one page that cannot allow anonymous as I need to grab the user's login. I created the site and everything works perfectly on my development machine. once moved to the production server it no longer works.
Here is the problem: I can get the login prompt when going to the secure page, but when trying to login I get a "401.1 - Unauthorized", even when trying to login as a server administrator. Here is the authentication portion in my web.config:
[Code]....
I have done this before and always gotten it to work. I hope I am just missing something very simple...
