I have to get the string and number different. This is like the City with house number. So i want to split the city and house number. How do i do this.
I am splitting the phone number entered into two parts using regular expressions below
(^d{3}) - last 7 digits
d{7} - first 3 digits
This works fine if entered value is 1234567890 or 123-456-7890
and fails if value entered is 123 456 7890 (with spaces) or 123.456.7890
how to modify above expressions to trim (spaces and .)?
I am using the following code for extracting a number from string 'sentence'.
Regex.Split(sentence, @"D+");
For Ex: This is test , message contains 192837 and the message ends here.
This output would be 192837.
Now, Let say: sentence is: This is test, 2736 message contains 293743 and message ends here.
This output would be 2736293743.
But, I want only 2736. i.e The first number in a string omit rest all others.
How to deal with this?

I need to be able to handle two scenarios here. One, when they come directly to my site ('/'), I need to somehow redirect to my default city and 2, show an error page if they type in an invalid city. Any thoughts? I saw the route constraint, but how do you deal with invalid scenarios like showing an error page when the constraint fails?
I'm trying to write a Javascript Zip Code lookup utility.
1) The User will select a State from a drop down.
2) The City Drown Down will then be populated based on the State selected
3) A textbox below is then populated with the corresponding Zip Code(s) based on Selected State and Zip Code on an ASP.NET page.
Problem: I get the error Request() is not defined which causes the application to hault when a State is selected.
What should I cahnge in the following code?

Then I have another which counts the records from a transactions table per city, like so:

Only the zipcode is stored in the transactions table, so the idea here is to get a list off all the distinct cities that reside in the state. Once I have the cities, I want a count for each city as a whole, so I need to go back in and get all of the zipcodes that make up one city, and then count the transactions for those zipcodes. It works using the first query above, looping through them and then executing the second for every pass. But shouldn't there be a way to do it all in one query?
I have one page Country.aspx through that i add country in my database... I have another page name State.aspx through which i can add states in my database..

But I have a problem about a cascading dropdownlist(DDL) [Country]>>[City], because during the client-side validation I'm no more able to refresh my City DDL depending on the new selected Country. Server side, SelectedIndexChanged event is triggered but the DDL in the browser is not refreshed! (The DDL Country and City are Causevalidation=false) This occurs for each control on the page changed by server during client-side validation. How can I fix?
