Vertical Image Border Changes Alignment When Screen Is Not Maximized?
Apr 28, 2010
I have some pretty straightforward HTML code with a few tables to organize various items of text or images. All works fine except that I need to place a vertical border on both the left and right sides of the screen. I am able to do this with a 2x2 pixel image that I stretch out. When the user has their screen maximized, everything looks great. But when the user hits "Restore Down", then the borders stay in place, but the tables get shoved down so that they start below where the borders end, which is off screen. in other words, the relational alignment between the borders and the tables gets all screwed up. Does anybody know how to make this alignment stay consistent on a restore down? I'm pretty much a newbie with html and asp, so speak slowly. If there is a better method to accomplish this, I'm all ears.
Apparently, the TabContainer's default tab alignment is vertical now in ASP.NET Ajax Library Beta (0911) (build of AjaxToolkit.dll 31106) instead of horizontal (build 30903).
So how do I change tab-alignment from vertical to horizontal?
I have a div container with an image to the left and a smaller image to the right. My problem is the small image to the right is at the top and I want it to be at the bottom.
Another problem I am having is I have an image at the top right of a page and I want it to be hard against the edge of the page with no border and I am really struggling to get this to happen.
I have an ASP.NET web site which contains some ImageButton controls that cause postbacks used to filter a list of products to certain groups of products.
Now I am moving to ASP.NET 4.0 with SEO-friendly paths like /products/category/item, and I'm using routing with Webforms to map URL's to webforms. In the process, I want to replace my image buttons with hyperlink controls showing the image, so that I can associate a navigational URL with each image.
I'm creating my new image hyperlink something like this:
The big problem I'm facing: the ImageButton used to put a border="0" attribute on the <img> tag in HTML to avoid a border around the image. But how can I achieve the same result using the hyper link control?
With the current setup, the border="0" gets stuck onto the <a href="...."> tag - and that's not exactly what I want / need.
I have put a hoplink inside an image like this. This is a test but when looking at the banner that is shown you can see a gray border along the banner (GIF).
Is it possible to get rid of this gray border that is around the actual banner here ?
i have a gridview that directly bind to a dataset.Hence there is no column in code behind for me to control the boarder color and border style.I try my code in RowDataBound, but it does not take effect.
I've looked everywhere and googled everything and couldn't find anything good. What I need is a class that is able to draw an image (graphics) with rounded corners (different on each corner is a plus) with a border and gradient fill.
All the examples I find have some flaws (like bad quality, missing functionality etc).
I will use this with a ashx that will draw the image and then show it to the user.
I have developed a web project using PowerBuilder V12.0 and it is published in ASP.net web file formats (*.aspx).
I have hosted my web project on a web server machine with operating system (Windows Server 2003-Enterprise Edition) and IIS V6.0 as Web Server Hosting Application.
I would like to make the home page (Default.aspx) opened maximized so that no internet toolbars appears in the Internet Explorere or any other internet browser like Firefox and so on.
It seems this is a web server configuration and setting as now I host the same web application in two development web servers and it opens maximized in one of them and opens normal in the other so No changes are needed in the web project files.
I do not know exactly what is this option or configuration,, Is there a property like window size or width and height in web configuration files like web.config and machine.config ? I guess there is a property like WindowSize:Maximized.
sometimes we need to use the asp image control so we can generate empty alt tags (visual studio 2005 does not render any attributes set to an empty string). I know how to do this and also how to remove the border style that is automatically added
We implemented this 6 months ago, however, only today have I discovered that it does not work when images are created dynamically. The first implementation was for asp images that have been set up within an aspx page:
The above works-no border style is rendered and the imageurl is populated in code.I have other pages where I'm building up sections dynamically using C# code, such as:-
now i need to develope the application to display the images when ever the files are scanning in the scanner machine. i want to display the images directly from the scanner.
I have few images on my aspx website and was trying to do a simple link to another page from the image. Noticed that the image control does not let me specify the url, and when i was playing wtih <a href... in source code i run into some issues.
Then i noticed HyperLink control and i used that one. In a property window i see "ImageURL", and "NavigateURL", so i guess that eliminated the need for a "Image" control.
The only problem that i run into with the "hyperlink" control is that once the link is created, the image has a "nasty" red border which i need to remove but i am not sure how to. I set border style to None and it did not work. Then i tried to set border width to 0 and still i have a red border around my image.
How do i remove that annoying red border and is there a better way to do image link with aspx?
I just want to know how to capture an image using asp.net server side.
My code runs smoothly and captures the image when I'm running it in localhost, but when if I published or deployed it in our web server then access it tru its url, it doesn't work or i can't capture the image.
I am trying to get the pixel color of a mouse click event. (meaning when the user clicks on the page I need to identify what color he just clicked on.) I believe the best way to go about this is to create a screen cap of the browser contents then use image.GetPixel sending the x,y locations. The only part of this that I am having issues with is creating the screen cap at "click-time." It would be easiest for calculations if i could get a screen cap of the entire contents of the browser, but I could also work with being able to screen cap a specific div element by ID.
I have experimented with this using an actual image on the page and i can get the correct values however, the page will not be an image so i need to create the screen cap...
If you have any information about how to do this or have a better way to get the color of the pixel clicked on by a user.
I have question regarding printer option page which pop up when i click on print button on crystalreportviewer and when i click okay on that pop up page it displays print preview of the report.
Is there any way to skip that pop up window(Printer Option) and just display (PDF)print preview screen instead?
(I am not exporting report to pdf, just want to display printview screen and when the user click on print button it will print out the page)
I have tried following code but i am getting error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.
The below is the exact scenario, One form will be there and when user click on "Edit" hyper link other window will open to get more details. In that new window also I have a grid or a table which has other hyperlink which lead to open other window and in that window I will enter few details and save it....
i assigning an imagebutton to an image url in css causes my image to still show, but also the icon for an image if there isn't an image. If I declare it in the html instead, it shows fine, only when I try to use CSS for the referene to the image url.I use the following syntax for the image in css
background-image: url(image1.jpg);
Again, it is finding and showing the image, but it is also showing the windows image icon.
I have created my first MVC application. I am using forms authenticataion. I have created a custom action filter MyAppAuthorizationFilter which inherits from AuthorizeFilter. Inside this filter I'm authenticating the user credentials by checking them against a database table (by overriding OnAuthorize method). If the user is not authenticated, I am redirecting the users to a login page (which is view of LoginController). I am using this filter agaginst my main controller so that all actions in this filter will execute only if the user is authenticated.
I do not have any problem when I use the asp.net development server (shipped with Visual Studio). But when I deploy the app to our IIS7 server, I can see the login screen when I access the default url, but after entering the credentials (both correct and incorrect) and posting back the Login page, it stays on the Login page (clears the pwd, but not the username). Its never getting redirected to the home screen or invalid login screen.
IIS 7 server has .net framework 3.5SP1, but no MVC. So I deployed the System.Web.Mvc dll in the bin folder.
Here's my Code (I've omitted the views and models as they are not needed here):
[MyAppAuthorizationFilter] public class MainController : Controller { // // GET: / [code]......
I am using the below code where I put this tag on a .aspx page:
"<a name="tips"></a>"
Now if I from another page run the code in the hyperlink to navigate to this page2 where I have the above tag. The page will scroll down to this tag automatically where this tag will be at the TOP of the screen.
My question now is if it is instead possible to scroll to the position where you have this tag at the BOTTOM of the screen instead ?
