I'm working on the following aspx file, and for some reason VS2010 is messing with my code. I have no idea why, and was hoping one of you could have a look at it.
What happens is that most of the times when I hit ctrl+s, it add some code to the end of the file.
I've just upgrade my web application from vs2008 to vs2010, I create a new web app from vs2010, then copy across all the existing files from vs2008, then I add a new class file to App_Code folder, the intellisense is not showing up for everything and class etc is also not color in the right color. However, when I open the existing class I created earlier from vs2008, intellisense just working fine and all classes are in different color as well, if I make a copy of existing class, the copied class does not support the intellisense as well. However, if I shut my VS, and reopen it, they all appear to be support with intellisense for existing class, but once I created a new class, intellisense is not support.
I'm trying to migrate an old asp.net 1.1 application to target the new .net 4.0 framework. There are good guides available on this [URL]. However, all approaches start with the assumption that the 1.1 project contains a solution file which one has to open using VS 2010 and go through the conversion wizard.
In my case, the project does not have any solution file, giving me a sort of chicken and egg issue.
Is there a way to add a 1.1 .net soution file with or without VS 2010? Using command line tools? What is so special about a solution file anyway?
I have a vs 2008 project that I converted to vs 2010. I added a label to my aspx page but I couldn't get it be recognized in the c sharp until I realized that it wasn't added to the designer.cs file. I added it to that file like this:
[Code]....
and it worked fine. Why would I have to add something to the designer.cs file though? Shouldn't this have been created automatically when I built the project?
I tried to install Visual Studio Prof 2010 trail version in my system, but i got an error saying 'Please remove/uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' to proceed installation. i uninstalled my previous VS2008 software from system and i could not find anything like 'Remove/Uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' software in my Add/Remove Programs.
I have a trial version of VS2010 and created a simple out of the box ASP .Net web application. I have been playing around with the css file for the project and have yet to figure out how to effect the menu tabs.
Best way to describe my issue with vs 2010.create a new website. create the App_Code folder. create a new class in the folder. put the line "x" in the class declaration. hit compile. And the website will compile with no errors. It's not "seeing" this new class as being part of the project best I can tell.
I made a small app to capture frame from video using asp.net, in visual studio, it works fine. however the problem arises when i try to use any other servers, I am currently using iis 7.5, and trying to debug on server, but alas when i reach some region of code the attached w3wp.exe just get detached, the process crashs, no debug available anymore.
I am ruuning VS 2008 on Windows XP Service Pack 3. The problem I am facing is that my windows crashes after a blue screen whenever I run a website in VS2008.Its only with websites projects in VS2008 but not with WinForms projects. WinForm applications running without any problem. This happens in this sequence that when I run the project, it starts, debugs and port is opened for my project (a popup that comes right near the system clock in taskbar) and suddenly after that a blue screen comes and Windows restarts. After restarting, a message comes that system has been recovered from a serious, send report to Microsoft blah blah blah...Can anybody figures it out what problem there can be?
Visual Studio (SP1) runs fine until I try and view .aspx source files with the lines
<style type="text/css"> </stlye>
anywhere in them, upon which it freezes (i.e is totally unresponsive) and I have to use the task manager to shut it down.
I have read a lot of questions about Visual Studio 2008 crashing on viewing some source files. However, I still can't fix this problem.
I have systematically deleted and re-included all other code and it comes down to these two lines, which is very confusing. Sometimes it happens as soon as the lines are added, sometimes it doesn't freeze until I build the solution with any of the problem pages open. I can add external style sheets, and it only started recently.
I had Resharper 4.5 installed and have since uninstalled it, and do not have anything else installed.
Also, it happens to other people with the same source code, and re-installing Visual Studio does not fix the problem. So I have several questions:
Is there any way I can find out what's happening? I don't understand how the code (the css tag itself) could crash Visual Studio, and am thinking that this is unlikely and it must be something else within my solution, would this be a safe assumption? Could this have anything to do with installing Office 2010?
I have a hyper link control and I set the NavigateURL and the ImageURL property at runtime. I also need to set the class of the image tag that it generates but I cannot figure out how I can do that. The solution mentioned here [URL] does not work because the image url is hard coded.
I have been ising TFS 2010 with VS 2010 Ultimately for a couple of months now. I have a client who is using Visual Web 2010, does anyone know if this integrated with TFS easily?
I just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. I assume that it is because something got reset that I haven't enabled again, but can't figure it out.
Im working on a website project with Visual Studio 2010 from 2 different computers (home & work). In Dreamweaver Im used to FTP to upload/download files to/from a webserver to syncronice my files on the current computer Im working on.What is best option in Visual Studio 2010 to sync project files between home & work computers? I have seen there is a built in FTP, but seems only it can upload files, limited functionality?
I have a set of links that exist in the master page. I have a css class i would like to assign to a particular one of them depending on if that is the page you are at during page load. ex: Home will have the current_page_item class if you are at the index page
This is what I have:
Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load DirectCast(Me.Master.FindControl("ctl00_homeLi"), HtmlGenericControl).Attributes.Add("class", "'current_page_item'") End Sub
I want to use a source control in VS2010, I know my best bet is TFS, but at the moment TFS(can't afford ). As i understand TFS is the new VSS_2005(can afford)Can VSS 2005 be use as a source control for VS 2010 solutions/projects?
when i opened my Visual Studio 2010 i noticed that my ajax tab was missing from my toolbox and ajax control kit too. Then i noticed even that when i create new website, there is no web.config in it and it should be.WHAT IS GOIN ON???? :/
