View 1 RepliesI want to write a program that keeps looking out for a file in a folder. That file will be dropped in at a particular time. If no file is recieved at that time, I will have to send out an email saying no file is recieved. How can I do this?
View 1 RepliesI've searched so much and tried so many differnet solutions, I can't get it to work. I have tried the MailDefinitions in the <CreateUserWizard> tag, and I have also tried to send the email in the code behind for the OnCreatedUser Event.Oddly enough, I have a Contact Us page, and emails send fine from it, but I can't for the life of me get a simple user confirmation email to send.

I am developing a website where I need to send confirmation link to the user's e-mail account when he/she signs-up.
When user clicks this link then a field userEnable in database changes from "false" to "true".
How do I send a confirmation e-mail to a user when user clicks on the signup button.
When user clicks on this confirmation link then how would the field UserEnable change from "false" to "true"
I am using asp.net 4.0 with VB.NET as the language and SQL Server 2008 for my database.
Im currently trying to send an email confirmation once a user signs up. Ive looked at links already on the asp.net forums and have had no luck getting it to function. My Sign up page reads data to a SQL Server correctly, what im trying to do is when they click BtnSignUp they will automatically be sent an email confirning that they registered. within my database I have a table "tblUser" and the field within it are "Email" "Password".

View 1 RepliesAfter a user creates their account with the create new user wizard, I would like to have a confirmation email sent that requires them to click on a link in the email to confirm their account and verify their email address before account is activated.
View 4 RepliesThere has to be a simple way to send a confirmation email to new users. Every article that I've read really doesent tell me how to use the sendingmail event. In addition when I had it working, it wouldnt send emails to places like gmail or aol.
asp.net 3.5 - VB language - godaddy hosing, sql server database host membership information
This is the current response I get when is set custom errors mode to Off

I have create user wizard control on my page as below with mail definition setup to send a welcome email to new registerd user.
<asp:CreateUserWizard ID="CreateUserWizard1" runat="server"
requiresQuestionAndAnswer= "false"
oncreateduser="CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser" LoginCreatedUser="False">
<MailDefinition BodyFileName="~/EmailTemplates/CreateUserWizard.txt"
From="myemailaddress" Subject="New User">
</MailDefinition>
<WizardSteps>
<asp:CreateUserWizardStep ID="CreateUserWizardStep1" runat="server" >
<ContentTemplate>
layout content here
</
ContentTemplate>
</WizardSteps
>
</asp:CreateUserWizard
>
Problem is I am not receiving the welcome email.
To test it, I placed another create user wizard on another page in its default form
as below
<asp:CreateUserWizard ID="CreateUserWizard1" runat="server">
<MailDefinition BodyFileName="~/EmailTemplates/CreateUserWizard.txt"
From="myemailaddress" Subject="New User">
</MailDefinition>
<WizardSteps>
<asp:CreateUserWizardStep runat="server" />
<asp:CompleteWizardStep runat="server" />
</WizardSteps>
</asp:CreateUserWizard>
This one worked and I got welcome email. The setup in Web Config is correct. Is it because I have the oncreateduser="CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser" or some other conflict issue.
I want to send a confirmation email to the user after they register to my website. I am using CreateUserWizard of .NET and I use C#.
My idea is after users register they get an email with a link. If they click the link, they will come to an activation page. I have done this so far:
Register.aspx:
[Code]....
[Code]....
After Guid userId = (Guid)user.ProviderUserKey;
I am very confused and not sure what to do. I understand that i need to email an url with the userID to user's email upon registration, but how to do this, and when user clicks that url in that email, how that url will automatically come to activation page?
I have this wsdl file and here is how the requets look like.
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<Request xmlns=http://www.sometest.com/ttt>

<UserName>username</UserName>
<PassWord>password</PassWord>

</UserDetails>
<DestDetails xmlns="">
<SearchNameAndAddress>
<Name>company name</Name>
</SearchNameAndAddress>
</DestDetails>
</Request>
</SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
how i can code this in c# or send the request?
I am trying to send System.Data.Datatable from a WCF service, to a C# Windows Forms application. When I execute, I get follwowing message:The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceededThe datatable I am trying to send can get quite large. What would be the best approach to send the DataTable across without hitting message size limit, or in other words, what are ways around this problem?

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a web service that can do the following functionality:
Request XML
[Code]....
How can I create web service to do this.
I have a webservice that sends the response back in XML format.I'm able to connect and call the webservice adding an external web reference to the Visual Studio project.Then in my code behind:As New servicename_addedLabel1.Text = servicename_added.Functionexposed(param1, param2, etc)With that code I can get the response in a large label and unstructured data. If I "view source" I see the XML structured data.I have tried to create an XML document without success.My goal is to parse the response and write it to a database separating all the fields.
View 5 Repliesi built contact form in aspx 3.5 and i'm using jquery to send it to web service (asmx).the web service need to return success or error code. the problem is that at the web method i get only single value and not array. I'm kind of new in ajax and i tried a lot of solutions but without any results.. please if you can only explain me the principle of what to do it also be good..this is the client side:
$(document).ready(function()

$("#submit").click(function(event)

View 1 Replies i have designed a web service which would create 2 csv files on the system. I want to send the links to the location of the files as an url attachment over the aspx page.
like : http://myserver/download.aspx?file1=C: empimage1.png&file2=C: empimage2.png
the output from the asmx web service is : [Code]....
where xx.xx.xxx.xxx is the ipaddress. this is the whole output i get from the webservice.
how do i get the aspx page to send the attachment in the format i mentioned above? I have added an asp website to the project and added the webservice as a web reference to this but i do not know how to get the location from the xml output file of the webservice result.
We have an exisiting Web Service which receives SOAP requests and returns the data accordingly. However, we have a new project which requires the same information but the Android SDK doesn't support SOAP so we need to use JSON. As JSON is just a data container format, I need to write a new module to replace the SOAP WSDL which receives a querystring from the Android app and then processes the data and returns it in a JSON packet. The problem is that having never used JSON I'm unsure as to how I return the data to the app in JSON format. Does anyone have any examples I can look at in VB.Net or C#?
View 2 RepliesI am consuming a third party web service wsdl using my .net aps.net page. And I am getting following error message. Cannt get to resolve it. Its working on my machine but not in my development machine. I have installed the certificate also in certificates on that machine.

My app will be making some API calls to a service provider's app. It's all via HTTP calls. If my call succeeds, I will receive a response which will include an HTTP response code as well as some data in the body of the response. Two questions:How do I know what response I received i.e. 201, 404, etc.In the body, I'm expecting a JSON object.

However, when they receive this info the spaces are stripped out of the xml tag causing it to not parse and be invalid. Here is what it looks like when it arrives:
