I have a .Net Webservice(2.0 framework) and I am trying to call this service from SQL
server 2005 using CLR.
I have created assamblies on server and trying to call the we service through CLR, but I'm getting below error:
"Exception:
Server was unable to process request. ---> Invalid URI: The URI is empty."
I'm getting an exception when trying to access an .asmx webservice within a MVC site. I've tried numerous things like updating the web reference within the console application and building another quick app to test, but can't get passed this issue. If I pull the URL out of the svc variable, I can browse to it directly.

The exception was coming out of the Web Service itself. There were some global variables not being initialized directly through the .asmx call that were being initialized by the application itself.
Some simple checks on variables within the Web Service and setting what needs to be set have fixed up the issue.
I am trying to call a webservice and i am receiving the following error

Steps done for calling the webservice
1) created a wrapper class using wsdl.exe tool
syntax :- wsdl.exe /l:vb <url.asmx?wsdl>
<url.asmx?wsdl> is the url of the webservice to be called.
2) Imports <webservicenamespace>

I have a webservice, it has few webmethods. when i create a client proxy and invoke the methods to check its response, i am getting this error. Can someone tell me what things can i check to know the cause of this? The error is not saying much hence blocked on this.
View 1 RepliesI have created a web service that interacts with my DAL. It has the usual kind of methods, create, retrieve, update and delete. I have published this web service to our live Windows Server and I can see the web serice URL. The web service works on a few method calls but does not work specifically for one object. I am getting the following error: Fault Exception was unhandled by user code. "Server was unable to process request. ---> Data is Null. This method or property cannot be called on Null values."
To summarise: Web service is live, I can see it in my browser. Some method calls work. One specific one does not. I have verified that the method works (it is just calling a SQL stored proc that does return data).
I have made web service, when it is accessed by remote computer to send me the data using this web service then the following errors shows on the remote computer:-
"Server was unable to process request..A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)"

When more than ten user click the Build button more processes will create at that server will hang. How can send all request from client to single process in server.

Well i dont have an error but would like to get some guidance on this. I have a webservice that calls a class. The Class translates numbers to figures i.e. 4000 will return a string 'Four Thousand Shillings'. So what i actually want is how i can do my processing
backwards so that in the service i call the class's method to return a string so that i put the results on a Text property of a Label Control while i type each figure in a TextBox Control.
i.e. if i type 4 in my text box, i should see 'Four in my label', then 40 will return 'Fourty Shillings', then 400 will return 'Four hundred'

This webservice uses a dll ( the purpose of the dll is to listen at a port say 3305 and accept the request from one of its client (say client is some name PG and this client is different from webservice client) and the dll keeps communicating to the PG client to get some data.)
The webservice works like this.
When a request comes from my test program to Webservice, the webmethod calls the dll api ( to establish the connection between the dll and PG client). and after the connection is established between dll and PG client, the webmethod uses the data from my test program and implements some business logic and then returns some values to the test program.
After the first request from my test program is processed, the connection between DLL and PG will still be existing so as to serve the subsequent request from the test program.
The problem is after the first request is finished, the second request is not being processed by webservice, the request doesnot come to the webmethod or even to the class constructor.
is the connection between the DLL and PG , hanging up the webservice?
Unable to start debugging on the web server. The IIS worker process for the launched URL is not currently running.I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, VS 2008 sp1.When I first try to debug I get the error msg above. I wait a few minutes (presumably some service is starting) and debugging will start but no breakpoints are recognized.Some of the things I've tried:Changing the binding of my site from a static IP to "*".

i have developed a webservice using wcf. and i deployed on IIS 7.
when i try to browse the svc file(http://localhost/service1.svc) it is opening .
But when i browse with ( http://localhost/service1.svc ?wsdl ) it is saying page canot be diplayed.
I am maintaining a web site project in VS2005 and have to call a new web service on a remote server. I've done add web reference, and created the .wsdl and .discomap files in the app_webReference folder. When I try to create a object representing the web service in the code ( wsnamespace.serviceName ws = new wsnamespce.serviceName(); ) the code wouldn't compile.
The web site project is already calling other web services. When I right click on the type representing the web service and "go to definition" it takes me to a proxy class (derived from of course SoapHttpClientProtocol) in the metadata. I think this is what's missing for the new web service i'm trying to call. Have I missed any steps?
In my current project, I have a webservice file called MyServices.asmx. This webservice I want to reference in my Default.aspx.cs file.
My Code:

But when I refer to that webservice (as shown below), I get error saying: "The type or namespace name 'MyServices' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)"
What should I do to correct this error?

I have a website(X) hosted on a Windows server .
This Website is running under a AppPool= "CustomAppPool" ( Im using a specific AD Username and Password as the credentials for the apppool)
Website Is running under Credentials "DomainNameUsrName"
This Website should access a WCF service which is running under "MAchineNameASPNET" process
When i try to get the details of the calling method (UsrName) from the client calling the WCF ..... Im unable to to do so
I am always gettting the MachineNameASPNET as the credentials

have a working ASP.NET 3.5 webservice that accepts standard POST requests using an encoding type of application/x-www-form-urlencoded. I then added a method which needs to accept an uploaded file. We change the encoding type of the request to multipart/form-data so that we can get the file data and now we receive the following error:System.InvalidOperationException: Request format is invalid: multipart/form-data

I tried including the mod_mono.conf file and apache does see the module and loads it but when I visit an asp page I getService Temporarily UnavailableThe server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems.

As you can see from Fiddler/SOAPUI it does return the SOAP fault, however using HttpWebRequest i can't capture the response.
Returning 500 triggers my exception handling and Capturing the WebException doesn't expose the response.
Does anyone know how to capture this response xml in the case of 500 Internal Server Errors.
