This codes below create sub-directory, upload images, save in to database but images save in main directory (which is Albums). My concern is I want to save it into sub-directory that images uploaded..
I am trying to load every image *.png in a folder on my site. I simply want every image to be shown. One after the other, all on one page. Displaying a single image seems simple enough, but going through the entire directory is tough. How could I do this with minimum code using asp.net with vb as the language?
I would like to make a default.aspx file with very minimum code to display ALL images in a given directory. The images should just display on the page one after another. No need for anything complex. I am using vb for language.
I'm working on an application which will store around 50.000 images within it's first year and another 75.000 in it's second. Images can come from Galleries, news images, article images and profile images. So I want to give each image a GUID and store the GUID in the database. As for the directory structure i was thinking of something like this:
So I'm using the first 4 characters of the GUID as my directory structure to spread images a bit more evenly between directories. Now I have some questions about this approach:Is it considered good practice to store all different kinds of images together rather then use ~/Images/Upload/Profiles, ~/Images/Upload/Articles etc.I'm also storing thumbnails and they have a different GUID obviously so the thumbs will not be in the same folder as the original and somehow that doesnt give me a good feeling but I guess it should not matter but.Same goes for Galleries, I'm used to store galleries in folders like ~/Images/Upload/Galleries/12 , and now all the images from a gallery will be scattered around in different subfolders, is this a big performance hit?Do you guys have any other ideas for directory structures?
As you can probably see I'm a bit afraid to use this approach but since there will be lots of images maybe even more then the numbers i gave i have to let the control go I think :)
I have not add any .NET code yet. However when I try to browse to this page, I get a 404 error. I can browse to .HTM files fine, but .ASP file seem to lock up.
In my present project I have to open one site through my asp.net application and this site I have to control. And after that if we close the site the application master page should display. How I can accomplish the requirement .Any ideas will be very useful for me to start thinking on those lines.
How to delete page history which you can see from the dropdown beside the browser back and forward button? I want to clear all the history on logout that is only specific to my website.
I've setup this <asp:FormView> to read from an XML file which I created, however I noted that although the .xml file has two <article> </article> tags, the data control (FormView) only displays the first item when enabling pages. Is this a bug or am I missing something out?Source code vailable here.NOTES 1. XML file is valid according to this page., although, I still have to find out an appropriate XSLT format
When this html code is saved as .html file and browsed, we get a file download dialog box. I wantt this to be automated instead of manually browsing in a web browser.
sorry for buther I'm a newbie in ASP.NEt MVC and I have some issue deploying my application on IIS, that use a logo image within my main master page declared as
<img src="../../Content/logo.bmp" alt="logo" />
When I use the internal visual studio web server work well but not on my other IIS Server.
What's the mean of ../../Content ? Is this directory deployed with particular rules?
I have a page that shows a list of the files in an upload directory. ie: My customer uploads a file through my web page and the file ends up in the proper directory. When I click on a file name, the url path is missing the directory name. It's as if my customer uploaded directly to my root. Interestingly, when I upload a file through the same web page, the path remains intact and I am able to click on the link and download the file. How can I get the proper path in my url name. Here is my code .
I am using System.directory services namespace in framework 2 to query active directory. I have used fixed user account impersonisation in the web.config file, find the code:
I have disabled anonymous access in IIS. Also i have given Read & write access to the account tang09 for the website virtual directory and Microsoft.NET folder located in windows folder. But still i get prompted for the domain username and password to access the website.
I am using asp.net 2.0 with C#. I have deployed my application on IIS and while browsing it I am receiving below error:
Could not write to output file 'c:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files oot7179d944dd7c82aeApp_Web_adlogin.aspx.cdcab7d2.rqcxmj0e.dll'
Is there a way to stop someone from looking into the App_Themes folder, by putting it into the url, like this:
http://localhost/myapp/app_themes/
same with app_data, can those be blocked, i didn't try app_data as i don't have anything in there, but just curious, as app_themes I was able to get into. Is this an IIS setting I need to adjust?
there any way where i can make a page only accessible through a RedirectToAction? It's a bit dumb of a question given a redirect writes a URL.. I know it might sound a bit silly, but i really don't like the fact i have to be 'forced' to create a partial view to be able to make the page i want to redirect to. What i want to do is quite simply, after deleting a user account, redirecting to a page where it says, account deleted (with a bunch of other stuff), so its quite a simple task. I have no problem making a partial view here and there, but if i want to make many pages unaccessible, i think i would have to make most of the website in partial views haha. Maybe i'm getting it wrong though, i've read a couple of posts about it, including Phil Haack's ->http://haacked.com/archive/2009/11/18/aspnetmvc2-render-action.aspx But i'm still very confused about this subject,
how to upload images to server(application/images folder) and retrive(display) from and on client PC for asp.net. its just for uplaoding logo directly to server folder and retriving from server to client. i am not getting server path on client pc for image.
i have the following scenario, i have a column of a gridview that shows me a text telling me is the user is allowed or not to access to some page, but now i just showing allow and deny, but i wanna show images that represent me the action, how can i do that?
I would like, as administrator, list all users currently browsing the web-page (some id or something would be enough) then, what I need is to connect to that user and see what he is browsing. I have a class in my web-application, lets call it Node, in wich I store data what user is browsing. So which page he has clicked, so the next time he visit the same page, page is not rendered from db but from that Node. Is that even possible?
I am unable to browse a simple asp.net page from a remote PC through the IP address of that computer. However IIS is responding on a local computer with http://localhost and even when I type the local computer's IP address where the page is present. Computer is running XP and IIS 5.1. The message displayed on browser is "The server is taking too long to respond" however the page is just "Hello World" which displays local time.
I had deployed an asp.net 2.0 web site in IIS 7 in windows 7( with .net 4.0 installed ).
But while I am going to browse my starting page Welcome.aspx it shows error: HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found. The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Is there any problem with deployment of the application?
