I am implementing my project using Asp.net and C# in Visual Studio.Net 2008 programming environment, and I've been working on this issue for a while and can't find a solution. I have a css file in "App_Data/CSS/style.css", it works fine in visual studio design view. However, when I was trying to run the program, all formating effects I defined in the style.css disappear, leaving the plain view of the interface. The master page is in "App_Data/MasterPage.master", all the other .aspx pages are under the root directory. I have this placed in the header of the master page:
<
link
rel="stylesheet"
type="text/css"
href="CSS/style.css"
/>
I have a Shopping Cart Summary User Control that doesn't update without a full browser refresh.
The scenario is:
I have a DataList in one User Control that displays Product data with an ItemCommand event for an 'Add To Cart' button.
[Code]....
When the 'Add to Cart' button is clicked, the page reloads and another User Control containing the Shopping Cart Summary should be updating. However, the Cart summary doesn't fully update until a full page refresh occurs.
I should add, that the Cart Summary is "located" on a master page whereas the Product List is in the Content Placeholder of a web form based on the same master page.
I can provide more of my code if required but I'm initially reluctant incase I'm making a noobish error!
I need to perform an operation such as extracting the data for past one year from DB and doing some manipulations and finally displaying the excel graphs for the extracted data. The extraction of data takes almost 6-7 hrs. What i require is that user enters the required data (date and some other details )through an asp.net page and submits it and then closes the browser. Now a process should get started which will extract all data and create the graphs and finally send an email to the particular user.
First off, suggest better ways if you want rather than patch up this code. I am just starting this project and it is first time I have tried to code a web site so anything you suggest is very much welcomed. I have spent the last 2 and 1/2 days trying to find workable answers to this but none I have found and tried seem to fit. If needed I can email screens shots or code. I am trying to construct a website that will have the same main theme throughout as far as the header, navbars sitemap, and footer go. Naturally the content will vary from page to page. I want to use a single master page and css stylesheet for this main theme and I will change the content format as needed per page because each page may vary somewhat.
However, about 15 of the pages will all use the same format for their content and this format will differ from the rest of the site but the format of the main theme will stay the same. So I am trying to create a nested master page to use to format the just the content area for all these pages while retaining the main theme for the header, etc.. I believe I should use a separate css file with the nested master page to handle the formatting of the content areas for these 15 pages. I have code that looks like it works when viewed in web developer but design view but does not work when viewd through a browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox). So far I have the following done in web developer.
If it helps the code and screen shots follow. Master Page called "Parent.master". For all theme throughout site Nested Master Page called "Lab.master". For the 15 like pages Primary stylesheet file for main theme called "StylesheetNew.css" For site theme Secondary stylesheet file to syle the 15 like formatted pages. It is called Labmaster.css Labs.apsx file to use as first of the 15 like pages. Finally screens shots from web developer and browser. Sorry try as I might I could not capture screenshots and put them into this post. The problem is that web developer shows all the area (many lines high) with gray background and with the XXX text that I want to allocate for content in the 15 pages. Yet all the browser show is one line of text o a white background followed by the footer. It looks like the LabStyleSheet works in Web Developer but not in a browser.
I want to open docx file in IE from asp.net. The IIS has mime type correctly mapped. I can open pdf fine but docx will always prompt me to download like content-disposition='attachment'. Is there any setting to be done?
I have created a new page in rootfolderSubfolder ewfolder est.aspx , this test page is used a master page which is in rootfolderSubfolderMasterpage.Master . But styles are applied in test page.
but master is works if the page is in rootfolderSubfolder est.aspx.
Has anyone had any issues when updating a CSS file (app created from C# Application Web Site in VS2010) and not having the changes be reflected in the browser, but you can see them in the dev env? I've tried clearing cache and rebooting... After a while of trying to set a background image to .header (which shows up in the dev env) something crazy happens to my Default.aspx and I can't get any styles applied. I'm at a loss right now...
So I've created a page with zones, a catalog, editor zone and property grid editor part. I have also created a simple webpart as a usercontrol and added to the declarative catalog.
In code behind of my usercontrol page I added some properties and I can edit them just fine however when I click Ok or Apply to the change of any property it takes two post backs before the changes take. So I can click Ok twice or Ok then Apply or Apply and Apply or OK then switch display modes but I will not see the changes take place inside the usercontrol until the second postback.
The problem is that when page is displayed in web browser is see default back color, font and border, values from page are not applied on the my control. Why?
I have created a c# web project with Visual Studio 2010. I moved the default css file to the theme folder I had added to the project. I configured files this way: the Default.aspx is accessible by anonymous and loggedin users while all other pages are accessible by loggedin users only. I didn't use roles.
The issue is no theme is applied to the Login or Default.aspx pages if a user has not logged in.
I recently added a URL rewrite rule to my website so that all URLs that contain upper case letters are 301 redirected to the same URL, but replaced with lower case letters. [URL] redirect to [URL]. After running the IIS SEO toolkit, it's complaining about unnecessary redirects because of this rule whenever a link containing uppercase letters, like <a href="www.asp.com/MyPage.aspx">click</a>, is within my website. Since it's doing a 301 redirect, does it really hurt to leave the upper case letters in tact in the links, or am I going to have to go through hundreds, possibly thousands of links and manually switch the casing to all lowercase?
I've created an image for my imageButton, but when applied, it renders using a different size to the original, making it display smaller than the original??
In asp.net page, How can i call the javascript methods for form processing-submitting if the user browser supports javascript and use code behind events if the browser does not support javascript.I have the javascript code to send the form data to an ajax server page using jquery. Don't know how to invoke the needed one based on the browsers javascript availability
When i'm trying to debug or view pages of my site in browser asp.net dev server doesn't turns on pages automatically and when im trying to go by url it throws me an error See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
