Why warning SkinID has been applied
[Code]....
I have an application whereby a user browses to an Ajax enabled page, sets up some filters, and then clicks on download report. When the user clicks on this button, they are redirected to a Download.aspx page, which builds up the report and appends it to the response as binary (the file may either be zip/pdf or excel). The issue I am having is that everytime the user goes to the page and hits the download button the warning message from IE pops up "To help protect your security internet explorer has blocked this site from download files to your computer". This is not a huge issue, but the problem is that when the user clicks this warning to accept the file, it reloads the page, and all my filters are lost, so the user has to set up all the filters to filter out the data they dont want and then re-download the file.
The interesting thing is that I thought I could track the filters using session variables, so that when the page reloads after accepting the warning message it could be restored, but IE for some reason is not loading the page in the way it should, and so the Page_Load method is never fired when IE reloads it after the user accepting the warning, so I cannot restore the filter settings on the page because I have no event to do it from!
I have searched and searched for a solution.. I have tried changing the mime headers - I am using content-disposition tag set to "attachment; filename=report.zip", I have tried changing the mime type descriptions to different things to see if I can avoid the warning but to no avail. I have tried using an iframe but couldnt quite get it to do what I want it to do, the page was still being refreshed..
when I apply theme through Theme attribute of @page directive, It works fine but when I apply a theme for some perticular controls using theirSkinID attribute It doesn't work
I have following theme
Skin2.skin
[Code]....
I'm trying to applicate a skin in UserControl but That doesn't work.
In the project I put in the folder App_Theme 2 folders :
- FirstTheme: I have inside Images Folder and and a stylsheets (Personnalisation.css)...It's a project's Theme.
- Skins : here we have default.skin
I created the folder UserControls in the project and putted inside 2 users controls.
In the default.skin I wrote this code :
<asp:TextBox runat="server" Width="250px" SkinID="textBoxSkin"/>
And when I'm In the TextBox on my usercontrol I can't see in the SkinID property the textBoxSkin. I insert in the code SkinID="textBoxSkin" but nothing happened.
I get this error when I try to have my C# class change the skin of an asp control:
The 'SkinId' property can only be set in or before the Page_PreInit event for static controls. For dynamic controls, set the property before adding it to the Controls collection.
My goal is to provide a panel, call it ID="response", on every page, and then dynamically change it's CSS class from Error to Success, or Success to Error (so it's red or green). And also I make it visible = true, when a response is created.
Apparently, I am forced to use CssClass attribute, which is the only way this will work.
As a side-off-topic note: In PHP, you would not have a problem of using different "pre-init" "post-init" etc. A completely unnecessary process. You would simply change the html before you send it back to the user. I'm a bit confused why ASP.NET decides to overcomplicate everything. It's a bit silly for me to take time to learn all these different complicated processes to simply display a webpage. It takes time to learn all the quirks written in difficult-to-read ASP life-cycle documents on microsoft. Not to insult any microsoft people, but it's just not practical.
Just upgraded to VWD2010. I created a skin file and put it in App_Themes. I created a skin id for a couple of controls: gridview, dropdown etc. Normally in the properties you can go to skinid and a drop down with the skin id shows up and you can select it. Thats not happening. Also, if I put my skinid in for the skinid property of the component its not displaying the formating at all. For example: Here is what I have for a gridview in my skin file named /App_Themes/Default/Default.skin
[Code]....
why I get these warnings, wondering if it is a bug with Visual Studio.I have a navigation web user control, with links, and the links work without error, but it underlines the links and gives me warnings that the pages are not found.If I put ~/ in front of the links, the underlines go away and o warnings but then the link will not work because it will put ~/ in front of the url which does not existI have set up a page with a couple of pics if you would like to see:https://sites.google.com/site/warningofpagenotfound/It is no big deal, and the site runs fine with the warnings, just curious to why it warns that the pages are not found
View 2 RepliesI am implementing my project using Asp.net and C# in Visual Studio.Net 2008 programming environment, and I've been working on this issue for a while and can't find a solution. I have a css file in "App_Data/CSS/style.css", it works fine in visual studio design view. However, when I was trying to run the program, all formating effects I defined in the style.css disappear, leaving the plain view of the interface. The master page is in "App_Data/MasterPage.master", all the other .aspx pages are under the root directory. I have this placed in the header of the master page:
<
link
rel="stylesheet"
type="text/css"
href="CSS/style.css"
/>
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 to develop my projects.
I created a stylesheettheme and a skin file and added them to app_themes folder.
They both have the same name: style_project.
I added line <pages stylesheettheme="style_project"> to my web.config file.
When i run my project on localhost, there's no problem, styles are being applied.
When i upload my project to other machine which has framework 3.5 on it, no styles applied.
I looked at the machines iis server and .net version is 2.0 for default application pool.
I tried on the machine on localhost, still there are no styles.
I tried project both on default website.
What is the problem? How can i solve this?
I have a product-page and a department-page. Both departments and products are picked from a database by their id (productid and deptid).
When I try to route like this, it seems that only the first rule is applied, Why? How can I solve this?
In global.asax:
[Code]....
With the above settings I can reach
http://mysite.com/myproduct.aspx but not
http://mysite.com/mydepartment.aspx.
If I switch so that the DeptList rule comes first "mydepartment.aspx" works but not "myproduct.aspx"....
I have created a new page in rootfolderSubfolder ewfolder est.aspx , this test page is used a master page which is in rootfolderSubfolderMasterpage.Master . But styles are applied in test page.
but master is works if the page is in rootfolderSubfolder est.aspx.
I have read about Ajax Control Toolkit that should solve pop-up window requirements, but I need a solution that doesn't involve me downloading this. I have an editable FormView from where I want to pop a "warning window" whenever the user clicks a button that closes the Form. This "warning window" should have the following controls:
Label: "Do you want to save changes?"
btnPopSave: "Yes" >> triggers databinding of FormView fields to datasource, then closes warning window and the FormView
btnPopClose: "No" >> closes warning window, and FormView without databinding
If this is not possible (or too complicated), I think I can settle for just a warning window with:
Label: "Make sure you've saved changes." and no other controls
btnPopClose: "OK" >> closes warning window, and FormView
I need to show a Warning message when a Product is about to Expire
or before the expiry date of product or atleast remind him before expiry.. like Reminders.
I am working on Web Development Project in Asp.Net , VB language ....
I had a web page with 3 texboxes, i need to enter text one of any three textboxes.
for this i need to put required validator.
Has anyone had any issues when updating a CSS file (app created from C# Application Web Site in VS2010) and not having the changes be reflected in the browser, but you can see them in the dev env? I've tried clearing cache and rebooting... After a while of trying to set a background image to .header (which shows up in the dev env) something crazy happens to my Default.aspx and I can't get any styles applied. I'm at a loss right now...
View 9 RepliesSo I've created a page with zones, a catalog, editor zone and property grid editor part. I have also created a simple webpart as a usercontrol and added to the declarative catalog.
In code behind of my usercontrol page I added some properties and I can edit them just fine however when I click Ok or Apply to the change of any property it takes two post backs before the changes take. So I can click Ok twice or Ok then Apply or Apply and Apply or OK then switch display modes but I will not see the changes take place inside the usercontrol until the second postback.
I created this simple custom web control:

I used this control on my page:

The problem is that when page is displayed in web browser is see default back color, font and border, values from page are not applied on the my control. Why?
I have created a c# web project with Visual Studio 2010. I moved the default css file to the theme folder I had added to the project. I configured files this way: the Default.aspx is accessible by anonymous and loggedin users while all other pages are accessible by loggedin users only. I didn't use roles.
The issue is no theme is applied to the Login or Default.aspx pages if a user has not logged in.
I have the following gridview on my page, but when the button is pressed that displays the gridview, its just plain all white with no styling..
[Code]....
Error 10 Operator '*' cannot be applied to operands of type 'string' and 'int'

Line 88: v2.Text = Convert.ToString(y[1]) + "صوت";
Line 89: h2.Text = Convert.ToString(Convert.ToInt32((y[1] / tx) * 100));

I have a table named [vacation time] with the colums startdate and enddate the table is conected with the [permits table]with the colums permname and permdays(int). i have to create a warning message for the user if the ((startdate)-(enddate)>permday) to avoid the update statement in my grid view.
View 2 RepliesI recently added a URL rewrite rule to my website so that all URLs that contain upper case letters are 301 redirected to the same URL, but replaced with lower case letters. [URL] redirect to [URL]. After running the IIS SEO toolkit, it's complaining about unnecessary redirects because of this rule whenever a link containing uppercase letters, like <a href="www.asp.com/MyPage.aspx">click</a>, is within my website. Since it's doing a 301 redirect, does it really hurt to leave the upper case letters in tact in the links, or am I going to have to go through hundreds, possibly thousands of links and manually switch the casing to all lowercase?
View 2 RepliesI've created an image for my imageButton, but when applied, it renders using a different size to the original, making it display smaller than the original??
View 4 RepliesI copied the rounded skin content and shared files (replaceing the css and site.master) but the page comes out as a full screen.
View 2 RepliesI have a treeview named Treeview1 with checkboxes. I want the child checkboxes to be checked if parent is checked.
I am trying to use a simple code that I found on msdn :
[Code]....
For some reasons I got this error and I really dont understand why:
Type 'System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs' is not defined.
warning BC40056: Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'System.Windows.Forms' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases.
