i want to make a multilanguage website in asp.net
i want to give the dropdown on top in which user will select the language and according to language selection the website content will be changed
I have created a web application and generated local resources. Its working when user select language from browser. But what i want is, when user select language from dropdown list, i want to change the pages according to selected language. i can save user selected language in a session. then how should I change/assign local resource file to web page?

Multilingual Website and i have implemented that i works good .but there is new problem arrising. suppose my default language is english set in internet option so the whenever website reloaded or redirected then all content will show in english language but
when i changed it to hindi then current webpage converted to hindi but after that if i pressed any button on current page or i redirected to any other link of particular website then again hindi is converted to english.
I'm not sure what is the best way to create website that allows user to change its language. The website is really small, it has couple of pages (Default.aspx, Location.aspx, Catalogue.aspx and Info.aspx), but I'm not sure how to change the language of the content. User can change the language by clicking on one of the four image buttons which then add "lang" query string to the url, but whenever page reloads it keeps adding more and more "lang" querystrings.

I can do it with javascript but looking at the html source of a dropdownlist, there is no javascript there to modify the textbox/label.

My dropdownlist has 10 listitems. 7/10 works fine because they populate data from the db. However, there are 3 listitems that link to external sites and they have nothing to do with the db.
I have something in mind but I am not sure if it works or not. What I have in mind is I need to write some script:

i developing multi language website using Master pages Page_Load i set the Text property of Button Control from Resource file
like this

then in the button click event i cnage the text of the Button control
Button1.Text = GetLocalResourceObject("Button1_new")
but the text doesn't change and no error messgae
what is the problem how to solve this

I need some help in the technical approach with the following scenario:-
1) A dropdownlist with some options. It has a postback action on the selectedIndexChange server side event handler. For example, lets say it contains language options such as english, french etc.
2) Repeater with a label and the textbox control. For example label is Emp Name and textbox is containing the Emp Designation. We have to save emp designation in the various languages.
3) Every time i pick something from the dropdown, i have to flip the textbox control and fill the form. Now i want to save the given data of the texbox in the viewstate. So that every time, the user changes the dropdown selection, he can see the repeater data corresponding to the dropdown selection.
4) I guess some kind of relationship between the dropdown option and the repeater data is needed. But how can we make this thing work.
Now which is the best technique to save the data on the server side? I have to keep it in the viewstate.

What is the best way to implement the multilingual support. I am planning to use the .Net localization feature but the website texts are stored in DB. For the controls ( form controls) , I can used resx file. Do I need to build two different pages ( one for LTR and another for RTL )? Or can I have one ASPx file for all the three languages?

i has 2 resx files Test1.aspx.resx (for english) Test1.aspx.ko.resx(for korean) its working fine when language has changed on IE settings(that is automatic detection), my question is on my page i has a dropdownlist and showing the languages list, based on the user selected language i have to display language resx file. by default its automatically working based on the culture and no need to write any new code, but how to do this by user selected language?

Based on language selection im changing master page and gridview will be bind with data based on language from database . When change the language the labels will be binding with data based on language . but textbox value is not binding properly.i.e;for example i've 2 languages English and Arabic . First i've logged with English Language gridview is binding correctly after chnage language to Arabic the textbox value is not binding is displaying with data previously whatever binded with english language. Other than this textbox remaining label data bindind with data in arabic language.
