my app gets data from sql server using windows authentication but when i create a virtual directly as part of the deployment, the user that tries to authenticate against sql server is ASPNET rather than the windows user as a result authentication fails. I change the "Directory Security" setting in virtual directory properties to disable Anonymous access and leave Windows authentication checked but no luck.

In the IIS, it shows that the web app (i'm using) is using an application pool that uses NETWORK SERVICE account for identity. But when I debug/run my web app, User.Identity.Name shows that my windows user login instead. I checked my web.config file, and it does not have Impersonate enabled. I have this web application where I need the currently logged in windows user Identity. I server on which I deployed this application does not support virtual directories. And I am not sure if that server is configured for "Integrated Windows Authentication."
I tried using:

HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name;
All these work and retrieve the appropriate currently logged in windows username when the application isn't deployed. But when I deploy it on this particular server, these methods do not give me nothing.

The windows form control does something and then needs to redirect to a another aspx page passing a parameter obtained from a calculation in the windows form contro dll. Is the redirect possible from the windows form control (same session id needs to be used) since obviously you can't call response.redirect since its not part of the server side wep page.

The website is really small, it has couple of pages (Default.aspx, Location.aspx, Catalogue.aspx and Info.aspx), but I'm not sure how to change the language of the content. User can change the language by clicking on one of the four image buttons which then add "lang" query string to the url, but whenever page reloads it keeps adding more and more "lang" querystrings.
