Is there a way that we can change the color (which is defaulted to blue) when the items in the list box are selected? If so can you provide me a sample for it?
View 1 RepliesI have a asp:listbox with 5 items in it. By default the list box is disabled. (i.e it only shows the items in it but user cant do anything with these items.) I have to make the color of these items in the list box to red but when the listbox is disabled the items are defaulted to the gray color. Any idea how I can change the color of the items in the disabled list box ?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to show the user of my application that when they click on a menu item that their selection gets shown by changing the background color of that menu item
I am using the default menu that comes with asp and is contained in the site master. the default CSS for the menu has a hover and active properties but only the hover works.
I simply am trying to add a color to the select item background within the select elm after a user makes a selection from the select elm. The result right now is that in firefox, the colors will change, but only during selection ... after the selection has been made the background for the individual selection is still white.
This code works fine in IE but so far my efforts have been thuarted in FireFox.

P.s I made an equivalent javascript method and made some attempts at it, but the result is still the same. The background color of the item is changed ... but only is visible when making a selection, NOT after the selection is made.

I have an asp:ListBox which contains a list of countries. Users select one or more countries and then assign them to another list box on the page.

In Internet Explorer, if I scroll down (say to United States) and then click it, the list scrolls back to the top. United States is still selected, if I press the "Assign" button it will appear within the second list box, and if I scroll down I can see that United States is still selected.
However, users are complaining about this, especially since it happens so quickly that they can't select multiple countries.
I tried using smartnavigation and MaintainScrollPosition, but this has had no effect.

View 3 RepliesSpent ages trying to get this right but am struggling now. I have a list box and textbox, I can happily enter Email addresses into the textbox which are saved into a text file and populated in a list box. I want to be able to select a list item and delete it, along with it's record in my text file. I was going to do it by on the delete list item / button click, it delete's the text file and then writes and a new one with the remaining list items in the list box. Unfortunately it's re-writing the file but either not including the remaining list items. Here's some examples of what I've changed and what populates the text file:

StreamWriter1.WriteLine(Addresses.Text); - A blank line?!?
The code is below. The reason I wouldn't allow the user to delete the first list item is because I thought the code was working ok but for some reason putting in a blank line to start with, and if I deleted the line it'd delete all file content. No, I don't know why I thought that either.

Here the problem is user will click addnewrow button to create new row second row , again user is able to select the same item what he selected in first row of gridview. here how to avoid duplication in the second row .

user may select Item1 in first row , after clicking addnewrow button user will get second row

coz the dropdownlist is binded from database using sqldatasource n filter based on user selected PO no.

I am using the cascading dropdownlist controls from the Ajax toolkit. I have everything working perfectly and all of my select changes work. I have 3 related select boxes that all work great for single item select. What I need is for my last dropdownlist to allow for the selection of multiple items. I have tried adding the 'multiple' attribute to the final dropdown list and it allows the selection of multiple items but I cannot get the items when I post back, just a single item.

I have a gridview which i was trying to set the row that was currently selected to a different color.. i have used the SelectedRowStyle and works fine, but my needs are to highlight the row regardless of what button or link was clicked on within the row.. thats my description of "selected" i know that that the styles are based on events.. but i dont care if you click on edit, select, delete or any other button within the row.. i want to highlight the row so you know what record you are working with.. if i add the EditRowStyle, then if i selected row 5 it highlights.. no biggy, but with the edit row style, if i then click edit on row 2, then i have 2 records highlighted.. Is there not any way to determine if anything was done within a row and highlight it?

But now as the edit and delete functions are being completed.. i need to enable that coloring regardless which linkbutton you select.. As long as something on that row is selected, then i need to change it.

i have some buttons in my detailsview like this

After clicking one of these buttons, my wizard ActiveStepIndex have to change. This is no problem.

But now I would like to change the buttons background-color after clicking one of them. This is no problem too, but if I click the next button, the first button background color must change to white. But it does not do that. It remains constant #cccccc.
Only the button, whitch I have clicked should be #cccccc. The other buttons should be white.

I am using a css for maintaing the styles for the links.I have written a function in javascript to apply a different class dynamically in the "onclick" event.when i click on the link, untill the page postbacks the new style is applied but after the post back the hyperlink style is changed back to the original color.

I have a list with 2 sorts of items. Items that have actual values (1,2,3,4 etc) and items that are like group headings so all their values are set to 0. If someone decides to select a group heading - which has a value of 0, is it possible to redirect them to my 'Select an item' item which has a value of ""?
If worse comes to worse, I can just reconstruct the entire list, although if possible I'd like to avoid it.
