how to populate the asp:menu from xml directly. But my issue is to do everything from server side. I am using dom model in my dev and so I have to get the nodes from xml dynamically and populate into the Menu and create a flyout with 2 columns on hover of each menu item. Would be great if someone can provide with a custom code to achieve this.
I want to position my menu control on the right side of the page based on our design requirements. As a result, I want to make the arrow that indicates a submenu appear on the left of the menuitem as well as make all submenus flyout to the left now as well.
I need to create a menu with two columns of options. I was planning to create two panels side by side, each one have its own treeview. I have not been able to create the panels side by side. how to do this or is there a better way to accomplish this without the two panels?
But it's outputting a flyout type menu - all the top level links are showing and have arrows next to them. Then when you rollover these the next level is shown.
How do i get rid of this and get back to having just a un-ordered list being output?
I want to create columns in gridview dynamically based on rows in a table and each gridview colum should have a checkbox. When I Click the save button, I want to save the checkbox state. How Can I do this ?
I have created a menu in ASP.net 4.0 which is is rendered as UL/LI
However I am frustrated with ASP as it produces unwanted style e.g. style="position: relative; width: auto; float: left;" in the UL tag according to firebug. I would really like it to render without this.
A second question is the output in firebug is not the same as if I look at the page source i.e. the style="..." is not in the UL? Is Firebug wrong...can it be trusted?
i have a gridview which is populated from a stores proc using pivot tables. The column are created dynamically apart from a total column which is created as a template field. the gridview looks like below:
CPW EE Foh H3G IND O2 ORG P4U T-M TSC VIR VOD Total
Stores Visited
70 0 0 12 0 16 18 7 11 1 2 8 145
i need to add a hyperlink to each gridview cell and when that cell is clicked pass the header text through the querystring to another page. I can access the cells value ok and pass that through but i cannot seem to access the cells column header text. when i response.write out a count of the gridview.columns it brings back 2 which is the template fields but not the dynamic fields i have tried this on the rowdatbound, rowcreated, page_load and page_unload. the count should be 12 its like it cannot find the dynamic columns at all. ?
here is my code for populating the gridview
[Code]....
and here is my gridview:
[Code]....
i am also moving the total column in this code
[Code]....
and calculating my total in this code and adding my link to the total colum (which works fine)
[Code]....
now i just need to somehow add a link to the other cells and somehow get the value of the header text for that cell clicked.
Im developing ecommerce website and i want to add category menu to my website. This category menu should have 2 levels for sub categories as well. I tried navigation controls in ASP.net. But still i cant understand how to create the navigation menu in order to integrate with back office. I understand that i can do this with XML file, But if i want to add new products categories or remove categories, XML file should update automatically according to that. I don't understand how to do that. In brief all i want is create category menu with subcategories and i want to control this from my back office.
I want to create menus like the ones in fireworks. How do i go about it in vb.net. Tried migrating menu created in fireworks to VB.net; did not work. I am using VS 2008 version.
My appliction looks too academic. What can I do to make my web appl. more appealing. All the stuff I saw in macromedia fireworks are very interesting, how can I access such in VB.Net. I love coding with VB.net (Visual Basic precisely) but I am not getting my webpage to look like those I see on the net everyday.
I have a DataTable where the columns are generated programmatically at runtime. I then bind this DataTable to a GridView. What I'm wondering is how I can create the GridView to accommodate this, and if it's not possible, how I can output the DataTable into nicely formatted HTML.
I want to create a three level menu, I have got a recursive function today that works with three levels. But the thing is how do i output the third lever? Using two repeaters i have managed to get a hold of the first two levels through the ChildNodes property. But that only gives me the second level. What if a want the third level? Example code below. How do i get the third level? :)
I want to create a flyout login pane(for example, login pane of rediffmail.com) in asp.net for my application. How can I do that??Should I use Silverlight??If yes, then please provide me a link from where I can download required s/w.
I have a RSS feed i need to display in a table (its clothes from a webshop system). The images in the RSS vary in width and height and I want to make a table that shows them all. First off i would be happy just to show all of the items in 3 columns, but further down the road i need to be able to specify through a parameter the amount of columns in my table. I run into a problem showing the tr tag, and making it right, this is my Code so far:
In RSS all "item" tags are on the same level in the xml, and thus far i need only the title shows. Thr problem seems to be that i need to specify the start tag as well as the end tag of the tr element, and cant get all 3 elements into it, anyone know how to do this?
I am using ASP.NET 2008 Visual Basic Language. I tried to create a function that multiply two values from two different tables and get the result presented in a label. The value is retrieved by referring to the primary key after the user selects from a DropDownList which is in another page using sessions.
I tried to build this code in the Load_Page event but it didn't display for me the total.
I am creating a temp table and populating it's two columns manually and the rest of the table from the data returned by the stored procedure. When I added the first column called custno as @CustNumber, it allowed me to add it fine and the rest of the columns were filled by the stored procedure as expected. I then needed to add another column called RepeatCustomer the same way but it keeps saying:
Msg 207, Level 16, State 1 Invalid column name 'Repeatcustomer' So eventhough I have added Repeatcustomer column it's not seeing it. Any one has seen this error before or know what's wrong with this code. Note when I parse the query it's fine, it only fails upon the execution.
I have an accessdatasource with multiple columns, one column I use it to populate a dropdownlist. Can I use the data from other columns to insert into a table, insert being done in the aspx.vb page, without creating gridview etc.
Is it possible to make a detailsview one column visible= false and still be able to evaluate its contents?
I am currently developing a website for a friend of mine who is a dj. I have a login page, which works fine however i want to inplement a menu that only users with the Administrator role can view. I have done alot of research and i have found ways to stop a user from visiting a page, when they click on it it takes the to the login page. But i want to completely hide the menu from Non Admins.
I am using a flyout to show info, it opens with a javascript function, I put the whole content of flyout in updatepanle so that some elements can be updated without whole page reload, on close buttons both asp:button and ordinary html button are not functioningIf I remove update panel whenever I click close buttons ( both asp or html button ) the page gets refreshed.
[Code]....
How can I close my flyout simply in the way that it opens by javascript and not with postback?
I am re-vamping an existing website and have several "Sub" directories. I need to have my navigation (not using the .net navigation/sitmenu) but I need my mnus to point to the absolute root of my site in order to go between menu item pages. In other words, my menu is structured like this:
[Code]....
As you can see, the only two pages that are in the Root part of my Project are the Default.aspx page and the Contact.aspx page. This wokrs fine if I am just going to the Home (default) page or the Contact Us page, but of course if I go to the Rose Garden or the Articles pages and then try to go "Home" the page isn't found. I know that using "Absoluteroot" should work to get me back to the root section of my menu, but the only place I have used this is in the BlogEngine. Can anyone plaese point me to a tutiral on how to do this within my own web project?
